(Mods and Admins: If you feel like this should be moved to the Banter Board, or even the Member Introductions Board, feel free.)Seems like every time someone gets new ink done, someone pops in with, "we need an official thread" - so here it is! Post pics of YOUR tattoos, or if by chance, you do them - some of your own work (I remember someone on here saying they do). I think it'd also be cool to throw around ideas you've had, or share some of the names of studios and artists that have done work on you. Pics and tips welcome! ___________________________________________________ ------Me personally, I've been tattooed at: To kick off this thread, I'll repost what I posted in my other thread, the Dia de los Muertos skull I got yesterday, in memory of my dad. (I also have a circled 77 on my right forearm in reference to Blanks 77, and a Tiger Army "TigerBat" above the skull on my left forearm, which I'm going to eventually work both of them [the tigerbat and the skull] in together.) --Any tattoo virgins have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

That's real nice. Colour is ing immense. Is the type of skull called a 'sugar skull'? Or is that something different?

Cool man. One more thing, when you say you're gonna be working the 77 tat into the skull, you thinking of getting sleeved? Or just like, working them both into a bigger piece/two connected pieces?

My first tattoo was done by Rob of Lucky Lady Tattoo's in Richmond, KY. My second was done by Dusty something, I've forgotten his last name. He has a shop near Cincinnati, OH, but he was down in Richmond for a convention when I got this piece done. Right now I'm planning on getting something done the ties into The Godfather, and I'm kicking around some ideas for a memorial piece for my mom. I also want to get my sleeve of my favorite characters started sometime soon, preferably by the end of the year.

I might have worded what I said wrong, lol. I'm going to work the TigerBat into the skull. Since it's a memorial thing, and I love the hell outta the band, I'm thinking I'll get a banner between the two with a song title of theirs, "Remembered Forever". I don't know if I'll get a full sleeve, but I am planning on at least a half sleeve. My other arm, I'm planning a pretty large Predator, and an old school Leonardo (TNMT) piece from the comics. Edit: And that Mushroom tattoo is ing rad!

just jumping in here. NO. Don't move it to the banter board.. or, unban me from it. plz? Dude, why? This is a design someone wanted as a tattoo... its a stylised samoan tattoo, i wanted it to represent the respect for the history of tattooing as an artform thus wanted an ancient style but not with the meaning (which is good as i don't know the meanings of samoan and polynesian designs). This was the initial idea i had for mine, i like it, but i could do a hell of alot better This is a another 'tattoo' design.. well, its as if it was a tattoo, its really a practice at drawing koi and waves (my first attempt This is an old tattoo design i did, cant remember the reason behind it or if they wanted the tribal stuff around it... i think i may have added that later Like i said in ABombs last thread, i don't have any yet, but in that link, you'll see some i have designed. Also, i don't know if anyone remembers a former member called DevilsKnight who used to some here, he had a design from me and i think someone else here has too

I, personally would like for it to stay in the lounge, just because it would be more 'out in the open' for people to see.

i love this thread and can't wait to see some awesome tattoo work by my fellow members. here's some of my work that i have so far. 1st & 2nd tattoos i got 10 years ago when i turned 18. this is on my left arm... my 3rd tattoo is the dragon heads i got 9 years ago. it wraps around my arm. then i got my 4th one which is my family crest. i needed something to fill in the gap between them so i got the number 13 representing my sports numbers and birthday. overall 13 is my favorite number. this is my right arm... next is when i moved to north carolina last year and wanted something to represent where i was born and raised. so got an outline of new jersey on my leg... my wife and i bought our house in myrtle beach, south carolina and i decided to get nautical stars. it was something my brother sister had and wantd me to get so we'd all have something together... last night my brother came for a visit and we decided to get another tattoo. i drew this out last weekend and got it for my 2 dogs who are like my wife and i's children. i actually inked there paws and had them step on paper to get there real paw prints. i think it came out nicely... i also made an appointment and dropped a $200 deposit for a big bicep peice next friday for my birthday. i'll have thosepics up next weekend sometime. overall i spent around $1,400 so far not counting next week. i still have a whole lot of canvas to work with. thanks for looking and enjoy. *edit* newest tattoo done on 3-14-09... My first piece. Done my a friend of my brother's with a makeshift gun made out of an old cassette player, a pen, and a guitar string. Shading with one needle = not fun. My next piece. I have a lot of ideas that come and go in my head, I want to get full sleeves eventually.

If I remember his original post he got that coexist done with a prison/ghetto gun... but it's hard to even tell. It healed VERY well. Edit: Just found this on Mike's site, it's a painting he has up for sale in the lobby he did, if I ever get anything religious or associated with Day of the Dead again... it has to be this: www.bigbuddhatattoo.com/artwork/newmarysmall.jpg(the painting is HUGE, and for sale... $4000)

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, although I wish it was smaller. It's gonna be a pain to work around it in the future without it looking cluttered.
It was a pretty cool experience, and it's not like it was some nutcase attacking my arm (pretty experienced guy who didn't work in a shop and didn't have access to normal materials), but I think all of my future pieces will be done professionally. Would rather not run the risk again, not to mention it will make this one more special for having been done that way.

^ I often see that pic on Google. Insane. I too love the coexist piece. Pretty hardocre how you got it haha. I have a few things in mind I want done. One of which, which is not fully materialized in my mind, is one about Cystic Fibrosis (which I suffer from). Basically, I'm doing really well now. I started realizeing a few years ago "Dude, I'm in bad shape, and sitting around is not gonna help things" so I started going to the gym, and getting really into my health and fitness. It totally changed my life and, as corny as it sounds, legitamately has saved my life to an extent. There's a CF Tust, name "Sixty Five Roses". It's named that because children with the condition, find Cystic Fibrosis hard to pronounce, and so it comes out sounding like sixty five roses. I'm betting there's some way to get that into a tat (without having a cluster of roses LOL). Just can't quite get my head aorund how to do it. Awesome thread ;D I'm liking there;s no outright bashers in here lol. EDIT: Oh and AdamBomb, that idea about linking the TigerBat and Skull with their song title (of which is obviously chosen because it's so fitting) ing rules! I think that could work great, so long as the banner (or whatever you put the song name on) is done well enough to compliment the skull.
