Hey guys I need some suggestions... After much thought, I decided that I'd like to get something tattooed on my wrist. I had wanted to get something that was special for me & my niece/Goddaughter so I want to get the word ʻOhana. For anyone that has actually seen Lilo & Stitch ( ),"ʻOhana means family and family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten." We have watched that movie probably 100 times together and it reminds me of her. Aaaand after all that...I need help with a font. I have yet to see any that I like. It's Hawaiian so anything related to that would be great. here's a somewhat tropical font without being too kitschy with a couple hawaiian flowers:

BTW, anyone want a Mankind tattoo Little history lesson, i did this when i was 14-15 and while the proportions aren't perfect it was the first piece i did where i felt it actually looked good, all other pieces i did before it were unrealistic and cartoony and this was the first one that made me think i actually could draw sort of realisticly, haven't seen it in 2 years and i found it just now so i had to post it

Hlaf a sleeve for me. Please. Again. PM me when you are ready to start and I will let you know what I am into. Hmm... that could be a very difficult piece, mainly because something like that can't really be designed easily without having a tracing of the arm space, as any morphing or stretching to fit to the space will completely skew and mess up the proportions of the piece... but i'll if you pm me about what you want, i can atleast see if something is possible... (And i may aswell do xxxKevinxxx's as i'm setting up a portfolio of stuff... hopefully by the end of the week i'll have a site up of all my art i have now) BTW, if anyone is in the tattooing business, just wondering, how did you get started?... i can't yet legally (i'm 17) My roommate has been trying to get into the business for a while now, and according to him the way you do it is by getting an apprenticeship at a shop, which in and of itself can be difficult.

Sorry if you've posted any pieces already, but I have bad memory and this is twelve pages. Taker, do you have anything yourself yet? Or just an enthusiast?
Depending on how I feel I might walk over to Metamorphisis (tat shop about twenty minutes away from my house on foot) and get a price estimate. I think I'm gonna just get a Starbird, simple, effective, and recognizable.

Nope lol, shock huh? but i know its inevitable i will, the polynesian style piece on page one is something i designed for me, but like i said in page 11? i'm still not happy with it. I customise everything i own... (look on my photobucket thing and you'll see my guitars) but i'm a bit weary about my body, being a perfectionist with something like a guitar if fine as you can always keep changing it and if i does up, you can get a new one, but a body is a bit different. Cheers Casey, thats what i've been told by alot of people, but like i said, i'm too young right now, but i am building a portfolio for when i am old enough

Nice, that'll help, i've have quite a few girls who want text and this sort of thing is perfect for the sort of base they want for the tattoos. Anyway, Those here, i'm wondering if you could help... at college, i'm doing art and the theme we are doing is 'Sanctuary'... before i was doing some obvious stuff that fitted with sanctuary like cages, and caves and stuff... but its piss boring, and these tattoos are something more interesting to me and i'd much rather incorporate them into the project Problem finding a link between tattoo designs and sanctuary... anyone that can help me find an explaination as to why they fit together gets a free cookie

Hey brother. I know my tattoo artist he is a family friend of mine. He is only 22. He has done all mine. I know he started out as an apprentice. Worked at that (they made fun of him for a minute) now he is doing great. If you need any advice let me know. I will ask him all the questions you have bro.

Awesome, cheers... only problem i have is locally there are loads of tattoo places, but there the sort of run down places they you wouldn't really want to go to... y'know, the sort of places that only ever do flash tattoos from the walls

I would suggest searching out all the shops in the area that you can, when you find a shop you dig start talking to the artist's that work there. Eventually, let them do a piece for you, and continue to come around. That, according to my roommate, is one of the easiest ways to get an apprenticeship. He might be wrong, but it could just as easily work.

Just wondering , i've always wanted lettering done as a tattoo instead of a picture or design etc and wondered if getting small lettering was possible or if it just looks unreadable and smudges over time. I was thinking of getting 'Without you' on my forearm in small font and 'I'm just me' in the same position on the other arm. Would this work?

I have seen really really small writing done. So you will be fine.

Im looking to get an upper arm/shoulder piece. I want to incorperate a lot of things for personal reasons. Like my grandfather did a lot of things for me, including teach me how to play baseball. And it wasn't about hitting ot catching it was about propper fourm and so id get something I rember he loved....the movie Bambi. Its wierd but he loved it and id have to incorperate it. And my dad who taught me a lot about my money, and ehat to do with it. So id get the tatoo he has on his back in there, but diffrent. His is a sword surrounded by a snake. And I really like these sugar skulls im seeing. I really liked the one with the year on his arms. Im just throwing some ideas out there. Maybe some feedback/ideas?

My next big piece will look something like this. My artist recently pieced my septum. Tattoos I can deal with, no problem. But as weird as it sounds, as many painful tattoos I have endured...Piercings still make me nervous.

I understand that completely. I can't even entertain the thought of getting pierced. Just freaks me the out. - Not to say I don't like them, or knocking anyone that has them... on the contrary, I DO like them, just not for me, lol.
