I'm off work for the next 8 days, and I have money to burn. Going to call my artist and get a time for Tuesday hopefully. Now I gotta decide what I want to get.

I'm thinking about that wrecked Jetta across my heart, or a lyric from my favorite "Brand New" song. The song syncs up with the night my mom died, word for word.

I don't know if you're a religious man, or you'd dig the idea.... I mean, I have faith and a believe in a higher power and all of that - but I also really dig the traditional Virgin Mary stuff. If you're looking to go big, you could opt with the traditional Mary, and throw in some roses near the bottom and around the sides, and put the lyric in a banner above of all the other stuff at the bottom.
Then again, I'm not sure of what you're into. lol

Decided on my first tat. Hopefully should be getting it done soon. Not sure if that'll be the exact font, and i might need some ideas for where to get it.

I am really sick today so I got a chance to look at all 65 pages. Some of these are really really cool. On the other hand, many of these are absolutely terrible. This is why no one should ever get tattoos following a night of heavy drinking.

I think it's pretty obvious which ones are terribly designed, colored, or are completely run of the mill. Tattoos used to be something unique. Now every @$$#ole has tons because they collect them like baseball cards. They should at least be unique. If I were stuck with something for the rest of my life, you can bet it would be meaningful, unique, and very well designed...not something hundreds of thousands of other people have in a spot hundreds of thousands of people have it.

Tattoos, in my opinion, were never very unique.
For example, native tribes used to get incredibly similar tattoos depending on location and which tribe they belonged to, and modern 'traditional' tattoo designs from the 40's, 50's, and 60's of anchors, pin-up girls, stars, horse shoes, banners, etc have been around for decades, and were typically all worn by sailors.
And I'm glad more people these days are getting inked and 'collecting' tattoos. They've become more acceptable in society - I don't see the problem in that.

I saw a killer piece the other day on this dude in the gas station, true deffinition of what tat's should be like. It was like a sleave, and it had like 6 different woman, all like very nice colors, its hard to explain. I'm not sure if the place has a web site but its here in West Va, its called Son Of A Gun tattoo's. Amazing work he had done though, it was not finished...

I can't explain why, but the overusage of the word "piece" referring to a tattoo bothers me.

I've got my appointment set for 2:30 tomorrow. Going to get the lyric "Life is only as good as the memories we make" to start off my road trip sleeve that I want to do. The lyric is from an Ataris song, and the band holds a very special place in my heart.
