I know there have been different version of the TV Championship in various promotions, however for this poll I am only looking at title reigns that occurred in JCP's/WCW from Jan of 84 until the time WCW closed it's doors.
The 6 men that I picked as poll options have all held the TV Championship for at least 200 hundred days. All men also have multiple Title reigns between the years of eligibility (1984-2000). Strength in competition is also considered, which is why Booker T, Rick Steiner, & Johnny B. Badd will not be considered although they have held the title multiple times for over 200 days each.
Mike Rotunda - 2 reigns for a combined 374 days. 1st run was 335 days
Dusty Rhodes - 3 reigns for a combined 227 days.
Tully Blanchard - 3 reigns for a combined 685 days. 1st run 353 days.
Steve Austin - 2 reigns for a combined 431 days.
Arn Anderson - 4 reigns for a combined 870 days. 1st run 336 days.
Steven Regal - 4 reigns for a combined 557 days.
My vote goes to Tully Blanchard whom had the longest title reign and feuded with the likes of Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham, Wahoo McDaniel, Ronnie Garvin, Magnum TA & Nikita Koloff over the title during the height of its prestige.

I loved Steven Regal's reign, as it lasted a long time for the WCW TV Taping @ Disney era standard. Regal was outstanding.

My vote goes to Arn Anderson. When I think of the TV Title, he is always who I think of first. When I think of Tully, I think more of the US title and his feuds with Dusty, Magnum, and Wahoo McDaniel.

Im going with Tully Blanchard. I think you cant go wrong with him or Double A but what stands out more for me with Tully is when he was the TV champ he had great battles with Magnum, Dusty and Nikita for the title where as most of Arns reigns were fought against guys like Z-Man, Johnny B Badd and Alex Wright

Im going with Tully Blanchard. I think you cant go wrong with him or Double A but what stands out more for me with Tully is when he was the TV champ he had great battles with Magnum, Dusty and Nikita for the title where as most of Arns reigns were fought against guys like Z-Man, Johnny B Badd and Alex Wright This is why I chose Tully over Arn. When Tully held the title it was on the same level as the US Title and basically a mainevent level title. Although Arn was a great champion, he was not a mainevent level singles guy, and like G2 mentioned Arn's 2 final reigns were at a time when the title had lost most of the luster that Tully Blanchard help create. I respect, however don't understand the votes for Regal. He was a good champion, hell he held the belt 4 times for a combined 557 days. But when he held the TV Title it was defended against inferior opponents, and as the opening match at PPV's. He dropped the TV Title to guys like Johnny B. Bad and Prince Iaukea. While he did defeat legends like Steamboat & Larry Z, they were both past their primes and not focal points of WCW. Regal was a good champion, but this thread is about voting for the best, not your favorite TV Champion.

I was torn between Tully and Arn, but the "strength of competition" rationale swayed me. I voted for Tully.
I did really enjoy Dusty as the TV champ in the 80's. Although he was always in the world title picture, I thought he was great as the TV champ.

Yeah, when I think of great Television champions, the first one that came to mind was Arn Anderson for me. So, he gets my vote.

Tully for me. He just made that title exciting. Titles back then seemed to be more important. These days it seems like they just give anybody a title and no one keeps it for very long at all.

I can understand and respect the votes for Arn Anderson seeing as how his name is synonymous with the TV Title, but I can not understand why anyone would vote Austin. The poll question does not ask whom is the greatest wrestler to hold the TV Title, but whom is the greatest TV Champion taking into consideration time spent as champion, title reigns and strength of competition.
Austin won the TV Title withing weeks of his debut in WCW from Bobby Eaton whom only held the title for two weeks before dropping it to Austin.
Austin did hold the title for 11 months, however all of his high profile matches were tag and 6man tags as a member of the Dangerous Alliance. When he did have TV Title defenses they were against the likes of PN News, The Z-Man & Johnny B. Bad. His only high profile successful title defense at a PPV was against Dustin Rhodes at Halloween Havoc 91.
Austin only competed for as or for the TV Title for a little over a year spanning mid 91 into the fall of 92. Not exactly a lengthy run.
Austin won the TV Title on WCW World Wide twice, and dropped the title on WCW Saturday Night, and at clash of Champions 20 to Barry Windham and Ricky Steamboat respectively, which was fitting since the matches were on free tv, but not high profile matches being contested at PPV's as mainevent level programs.
Austin was a very good TV Champion, but not a great TV Champion and certainly not the greatest TV Champion of all-time. While Austin did drop the

I voted for Lord Regal, the greatest TV champ in WCW history in my book.
