Interesting. I had never heard about any of this.
What kind of pisses me off, is HBK was the biggest prick back in the day. yet very few people on this board "get it" as they only know of his 2002- onward role.

What did HBK do that was so bad that everyone hated him? There are too many rumors to address them all but here is a taste: Faked injuries to avoid jobbing to Shane Douglas and Bret Hart. Held back/discontinued several pushes from wrestlers as part of the Clique. Threw a fit backstage after WM12 because he thought Bret slowed the match. Reportedly angry over having to job to SCSA at WM. Some things that are fact: The Clique Curtain call, breaking kayfabe at a house show by calling out Sid on his terrible wrestling skill, Improvising while on the air (including stuffing his tights and thrusting his junk in JR's face) The "Sunny Days" comment that led to a legit fight with Bret Hart, in which HBK later threatened to leave for WCW, and, of course, Montreal. |

I guess I was misunderstood. What pisses me off is a lot of people on these boards seem to think HBK was the guy he is now, back then. Like if a shoot is discusse4d and someone (say Bigelow for example) called HBK a **** ****ing *****. People will label Bigelow as bitter when he was telling what HBK was. Plus, this idea leads to everyone slamming Bret for the Montreal screwjob. VERY few people have ever read the legit report that includes EVERYTHING leading up to Montreal. I'm not saying Bret wasn't sqeaky clean, because I feel everyone had blood on their hands. But in my eyes HBK is the most to blame. |
