I'm watching videos of the Kaufman/Lawler fued and saw the match and was wondering, why was the king disqualified for a piledriver

Back in the 80s many places had banned the piledriver as an illegal move as they found it "too dangerous" Im pretty sure its actually still somewhat banned in WWE now

Like G2 said the piledriver was a banned move, like other old school rules such as tossing your opponent over the top rope & even coming off of the top rope.

Yeah, Piledriver and Shooting Star Press were banned a couple years ago, but they lifted the Shooting Star press one.
