Seriously it is annoying It's like me one time when Edge was cheating on Eugene and I yelled out REF TURN AROUND EDGE IS CHEATING and the ref looked at me and was like wtf kid and then he turned around and made edge stop cheating true story He cheated on Vickie AND Eugene!? Unbelievable! In all seriousness, it is pretty annoying.

Yelling "WHAT?!" is so 2002. In TNA, when Shark Boy was impersonating Stone Cold, he would cut promos designed for the crowd to yell "WHAT?!" and nobody would say it. Go figure.

Well nowadays most of the crowds are little kiddies who thinks that its still cool to do that.Whoever came up w/ that idea should have to suffer watching The Best of Vladimir Kozlov" tapes for the rest of his life.

It was priceless last night when Vince did a variation of the sphincter says what gag, except he said it slowly and the fact that anyone fell for it was sad.
In general it is very lame though.

Worst cathphrase ever. It was annoying when Austin said and now these fans make it even worse. They ruin so many promos now. I bet most people that say didn't even see its beginning.

Well, see....the way I see it is...the fact that it is still around, and still resonates within a WWE crowd as much today as it did in 2001 when it was started should speak volumes. It does to me. Whether you all think it's trivial and stupid or not, the fact is, there aren't many catchphrases out there that stand the test of time like this one has. And next time I go to a wrestling show, I'm definitely chanting WHAT....because I know I'll be a part of something that makes the majority mad. LoL!
...WHAT!?

How about Piper's Pit @ WM21 when the crowd was chanting "What" and Piper said "What are you all deaf?" I never seen a crowd shut so quickly after that, until Stone Cold came out lol

It's very disrespectful to the performers, I think Vince should go the WCW route and have fake crowd noises in between "what" chants so they won't be heard.

I bet half the fans who say it didn't even watch wrestling when stone cold started doing it. I feel embarrassed for the fans when i watch it on TV and here there prepubescence voices shouting "WHAT?". I do love Stone Cold but i will never forgive him for this. haha. Well, see....the way I see it is...the fact that it is still around, and still resonates within a WWE crowd as much today as it did in 2001 when it was started should speak volumes. It does to me. Actually it makes the majority glad that they are not you.

The only thing I hate more than "WHAT?" chants are chants of "boring" when wrestlers are actually, you know, wrestling. It's a testament to the state of pop culture.

This just sounds like quite a few people need to get over themselves. Just because you may have 'grown out' of yelling 'What?' because you are big boys now, doesn't mean younger children have to.
The 'What?' chant has remained a popular one for nearly 8 years now and it is a chant that works brilliantly in getting superstars riled up. Think about how many heels have reacted to that chant and have provided an entertaining moment.
I'm assuming that everyone complaining about this chant being annoying, disrespectful and boring are the same people that think shouting 'F*** You' at superstars isn't any of these things. There's a chant for morons.
