Do not want to offend anyone, not intended as a put-down for the line either. However I haven't heard about the classic line from Mattel. I do not care much for the current roster. I want to see legends and only then and if they look well made I will start buying Mattel.

I don't think too many classic collectors (who tend to be old-school wrestling fans rather than being into playing with figures) would double-dip for the hundreds of wrestlers they already have from Jakks. It wouldn't be worth doing a full classics line. The occasional legend in the Entrance Greats and WrestleMania Heritage lines is good, but I think they'd be silly to try to replicate the Classic Superstars range.

There are still some figures that are outright terrible looking or bodies are out of proportion. If Mattel came up with better superstars I guarantee you some would consider parting with their collections. I would part with mine on two terms: 1.) Mattel stops making everyone with the six pack and develops realistic torsos. 2.) Mattel releases legends beginning with WM1 putting an emphasis on never released great figures.

Have you gotten a current figure yet? opened it? played with it? etc. I'm not sure i see the point of the post. Im sure classics will be on their way.

The point of the post Sir is that Mattel IMO did not do their homework well enough. I do not play with my figures and I do not care fro Mr. Swagger or Dolph Ziggler, but i would love to see some stuff in perfect scale and realistic attires, by some stuff I mean WM1 etc., I know prevailing majority of those do not ring the bell to some folks in here but still, that was real entertainment, there was no UFC then, there were no other things per say. Let me ask you what Mattel intend to do?! Release the same tired stuff over and over again 365 shelf warmers of HHH and Batista? I mean great plan. Let's put a new HHH every month and new Orton. Well yeah every month there is some 8 y.o. wants one because the previous one is broken. This does not make Mattel any different from Jakks, Jakks were releasing same tired stuff over and over and over again. Where is the variety? Entrance greats? Who cares it is again HBK, HHH and 619 like nobody had a great entrance before.

Mattel said they would be doing a legends line towards the end of the year (2010) But if you look at TRU.com the Entrance Greats have the WM XII HBK that was shown and list Piper, Flair & M$M as future Entrance Greats. So that to me says they'll be doing Legends.

I want classics as much as the anyone else the fact is this line has been out 2 days and we already have people complaining they are releasing the same people over and over again. The fact is using wrestlemania 1 as an example a kid comes in to a store sees hulk hogan,mr t, piper, orndorff, santana and others and then sees dx, hhh, orton, rey, hardy, taker people they see 2-3 times a week they are going to pick them they want to get the big names out there. Im sure eventually they will get some classics out there but being2 days in really no one has the right to complain as jakks did classic about 3 years in first and they failed they canceled the line after the first one. they tried it again 4-5 years later and i caught on huge id say just give mattel time im sure we will see some legends.

While you complain that Mattel is offering the same figures we've seen before, you seem to not realize that they are offering a better figure in many facets that Jakks failed at..ie..deco, playability, scale, variations, attires, etc. Moreover, as an initial line Mattel is providing consumers with familiar figures, which is common for new lines. Also, as with Jakks classic, there is a routine that needs to be followed in order to get appovals and likeness of these classic. The basis of your argument is personal preference and has nothing to do with the actual sculpts, design, etc of the figures. That, in of itself is nothing to take offense at. Moreover, to think that a toy company did not do their homework based off of what is availble for a week then pretty much bashing their production schedule isn't offensive either, but rather laughable. You need to give it some time I;d say, and not make judgements based on initial reports.

This thread is just stupid. By that I mean it lacks any intelligent thought. No one cares if you don't like the figures. You embarrassed yourself by starting it.

Dont forget though there are kids out there who are just getting into WWE/wrestling and they will be interested in the HHH, Batistas and Cenas even if your not so mattel has to to try and cater for everyone not just the collectors.
