My avatar is probably the best picture I have at the moment of my sleeve/hand tattoos. My forearm is a sinking ship and on my wrist I have the words "Feed Me To The Sea." It's a dedication piece to my band. My hand is a sun (obviously), and pretty soon across my fingers I'll have the word "spaceman." My upper sleeve will basically just resemble clouds and smoke. It's kind of hard to explain, but you can see the outline peaking through my shirt. Awesome stuff in this thread.

^ looks really good dude. post your band's links, i'll check it out. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to advertise here, but here's the song the tattoo is based after. It's almost 2 years old now, but it still remains to be one of my favorites. If you're not into extremely heavy metal you probably won't enjoy this. Hahaha. www.facebook.com/thewarof1812

Looking nice Wells! I thought that the Two-Face one was bigger for some reason. Love the Heisenberg one.

Maybe you guys can give me some advice here:
I've been planning to get my first tattoo for about a year now. I know what I'm going to get & I plan to get it on the front of my shoulder (think UFC's Jon Jones Philippines location.) Anyways, I'm going to be having a shoulder surgery, possibly as soon as the new year. I initially wanted to wait on the tattoo until after the surgery, for fear of getting cut open where the tattoo is & it gets wrecked.
If I stick to this plan & get it done after surgery, I'm wondering if it will look any different if it's put over the top of a scar? I'm trying to figure out if I need to change the location of the tattoo.
Any help is appreciated.

I've tattooed over burns, which are really gnarly scars. My burn was very noticeable and raised. Now that its tattooed, you can barely see it. Looks a lot better.
The thing is, though, tattooing over a scar requires the scar to be healed for a long, long time. Especially if its an incision scar. That would need to be healed for a few years.
Be careful and consult an artist.
You know me, PM me. I can bring you to my guy if you like.

All right guys. I'm a big advocate of coming up with your own ideas, and only getting something that actually means something tattooed on you,
But, I need help with the... execution of an idea. On my forearm, I have a cartoony, really colourful piece, it ends around where my elbow is.
I want there to be a, kind of line, thing between the forearm, and my eventual upper arm piece, 'blurs the line of fantasy and reality', if you get what I'm saying. But, I have no idea what kind of 'line' I want it to look like, I know the idea I want, I want it to be somewhat clear that the line is being blurred between the two, and contrasting, but yeah.
Any ideas at all?

Best way I can describe what I'm saying is to look at the lightning bolt that separates the DC guys from the Mortal Kombat characters on the MK vs. DC special edition. It's really cool looking, white in the middle with a yellow stroke. You could even go negative space with it and go untouched center and black/gray stroke.
I'm on my phone at work, otherwise I'd link a picture. A quick Google should hook you up though.
