I'll try to describe this as best i can. When Tough Enough 1 first debuted, MTV had like weekend block of programs coinciding with the premire. These included HHH & Rock doing commentary on music videos, and a special in which Mick Foley gave "hopefuls" (used loosely) a chance to get in the ring at the MTV studios.
One of the hopefuls was a East Coast indy worker named J.R Ryder who had his own manager. I forgot who won, but does anyone remember who any of the other hopefuls were, or if footage of the special exists??

I have all the shows from that week on DVD but i'm pretty sure it was leading up to Summerslam that year. I know my friend John Shane was the manager of one of the guys and I know Judas Young was on because he used to work for JCW.

I think this was around 1999, not the time of TE1, and it took place on TRL.
