I missed the chat, but I did see the nice pics posted for Basic Series 3.
Is anyone worried about all of the repaints released already? I would think that with this being a new company, they would release as many new figures as possible at first to get people hooked.
I cant believe how many Cena figures there will be. He has a Basic 1, WM Heritage, Signature Series, the TRU 2-pack with Edge, the Walmart ring set with Big Show and now a Basic Series 3.
Where is a Cena Elite?

Cena will be in elite series 3 but the line-up doesn't have him in basic series 3.

WWE doesn't have that many wrestlers. When a company is releasing figures all the time, repaints are inevitable. As long as they're good repaints, I don't have a problem with it. Guys like Cena, Edge, Orton, Triple H, Undertaker, Batista, Mysterio are always going to have tons of figures released because they're the big stars.
Cena elite is out in series 3. Also, where did you see pics of Basic series 3? I wasn't aware there were any pics out of that yet. What was the Mickie James like?

Keep in mind, that for figures like Cena or Undertaker, the only things that really ever changes about their attire are wrist/arm-bands or tight logos.
Plus, put into factor the reason why the head scans are the same is because Mattel figures are still not even a month old...so you really can't expect them to make new head scans anytime soon.
Not to mention, there will always be re-paints of the most popular guys. (Cena, Batista, Rey, Triple H, Undertaker, HBK, etc.)

Im not worried.
They seem to be steadily putting out new characters in each line/series. And after seeing ppv series 2 pics, as long as repaints are awesome like that, I will take them.
Also, did I miss something. Where are the basic 3 pics?

Not at all. The more product the better.

No because I know I'm not the only person out there who buys action figures. There's new people buying WWE figures every day so there's going to be tons of the main guys released in various attires just like Jakks did. They are the face of the WWE. It just means there might be less figures I'm intrested in purchasing in future lineups. But the beauty is nobody is forcing me to buy them...It's my choice on what I put in my collection. So no I don't care that there are repaints coming. Personally I think it's good that 2 months from now somewhere out there little Billy might be asking his parents to buy him his his first WWE figure and there's a John Cena or Rey that he wants on the pegs.

I think you mean the Survivor Series set. As for the repaints, I think it's ok. I didn't jump the gun and get the crappy Miz/Morrison figs so I'll grab their awesome single releases. As for the others, getting an upgrade here and there is nice.

Yeah. Sorry about my first post. I did mean the Survivor Series set.
I do like the Miz that is being released again, but it is not just a repaint. He has the new trunks.
I still dont like the Morrison face scan at all.

Nobody should be surprised. Repaints isn't a concept that was restricted to Jakks. It's a necessary evil for these sort of toy lines.

They are already looking like Jakks. At least Jakks started solid without a bunch of repaints.

These Survivor Series dont excite me whatsoever unfortunately. not very excited about Mattel in general at the moment because of these. Im gonna get Miz... and Kofi because I want to start collecting all the Kofi's. Everyone else is boring. Rey Mysterio looks cool but.... eh.

I think you're being too critical. There's only so many wrestlers on the roster and line-ups need to be made at least 6 or more months in advance. Wrestlers tend to wear similar outfits in varying colors so of course there is going to beall kinds of repaints of certain guys and it's not a bad thing ... a figure doesn't need to have a new sculpt for every release to keep me happy as long as the attire is fairly up to date and accurate, which Mattel is doing well with.
I say as long as we get a new face sculpt a few times a year for a certain wrestler (especially often released guys like Cena and Batista) than I'm happy. Mattel has been doing a great job so far.

Look at the future line-ups. Mattel are making a lot of different people alongside the repaints.

Yeah, I guess what Im gonna do is continue to collect all the basics singles and 2 packs. And everything else, I will buy stuff I really like. This is my first time collecting starting with a new line.

It's simple, don't buy the repaints you don't like.
