Maybe I'm overthinking this, but the whole "Jakks is clearing out warehouses with old figures" thing seems to be a scam. These were clearly NOT figures that were packaged several years ago and just waiting around to be sold off later, as evidenced by the newer knee pads, different paint and different packaging. I think they're re-issuing older figs with the newer details as originals so they can pump out some extra lines of figures as "old" stuff without being in violation of their contract with WWE. Anyone else see a conspiracy here, or am I just paranoid? ;D

no conspiracy. I don't get your stance on where you stand on this from your post either. Are you posting this to post or what? what's your message here?
we're getting figures we've been looking for/trying to get off WF or ebay for years. whats there to be paranoid about at all?

Just cause its a mystery/conspiracy doesn't mean you're paranoied. There is CS1 and CS6 figures showing up on shelves with different colors and new knee pads. Which means they weren't just left overs from the first lot. Which means they were packaged later. Several people find it strange they'd make a bunch of old figures again years after they came out. It is possible Jakks made these a few months ago too make more money.

I mean, this way, even if the figs and packaging are SLIGHTLY different, they are still TECHNICALLY Series 1 and 6, so they aren't TECHNICALLY releasing new series.

No, I am not complaining. I'm super-psyched to get some figs that came out before I started my collection. Perhaps paranoid was a too-strong choice of words. I guess I am just seeing something that may or may not be there, is all. Also, who's paranoid about hillbillies?

I don't know, and don't care tooo much. I'm just happy to get chances I didn't have when I didn't even collect (for the first 12-15 series'). I was shocked to see CS6 at my TRU, but I grabbed LOD quickly, even though I have them already. I bought them off eBay without the shoulder pads and I think those really make the figs. Sadly, there was no sign of One Man Gang and that's another I got from eBay that was a knockoff. I'm hoping that since my store for CS6, that it doesn't mean I won't be seeing anything else good.

Maybe you should ask this guy: All kidding aside, I think what the OP was driving at was that Jakks is skirting their "no new products" agreement by reproducing their older figures under the guise of "clearing out the warehouses" until they legally have to be gone from shelves.

I dont know if its a conspiracy exactly but it has me wondering why all of a sudden these figures would be showing up in stores now years after their original releases.

I agree with 99.9% of what your saying but this not a conspiracy. It is an astute strategic business plan to generate additional revenue before the license expires. I initially brought this point to everyone's attention in the Doink knee and elbow pad thread. Here is my post from that thread.
There has been a large amount of CS6 Doink and Koko "factory rejects" on eBay during the past two years. Therefore, we can make an assumption the factories which Jakks uses to produce their product were actively producing CS6 figures during the past two years. This assumption backs up the argument that the new CS6 figures we are seeing are NOT old CS figures which were sitting in warehouses. Instead, the CS6 figures which are being found are newly produced/packed figures which were produce within the last two years for the explicit purpose to rerelease older CS product to the market.
If this is true, who knows what we are going to see at retail. Remember, Jakks is required to sell their WWE inventory by the end of their WWE license (May?), however, retail outlets can sell the Jakks WWE product with no time constraint. A business whether TRU or Jakks could identify this scenario as an opportunity to create additional revenue after the license. For example, maybe Jakks chose select CS series which generated substantive revenue in the past, produced more of these figures before December 2009, then plans to sell these figures to retail outlets before the end of the license. It kind of makes sense theoretically. Please note, these are all hypothetical statements.

What if in the warehouse the packages for these figures got ruined or dirty and they HAD to re-package them and updated some then. You know who knows the answer to your questions JAKKS call them up. Email Jeremy Email RSC see if they can figure it out with their contacts. Im excited about the thought of finding older figures with better updated accessories.I hope to find series 1 tag team set or something awesome like that, who knows. As a company I don't see them wanting to be to risky with WWE, why get sued over some plastic you could as easily recycle? Conspiracy ? I don't think so. 2nd chance for some Johny come lately collectors? Yes.

i'm just glad i can pick up older series at a reasonable price... It is a good time for anyone to get some of these older figures without paying the high prices that EBAY sellers are asking for them. So, yes I too am very glad and hopefully they flood TRU with these.

It burns me a little that Jakks would do this, as I have made a considerable investment in this particular line, but I cannot say that I am surprised. Please understand that those of us who have spent big $$$ on items that were at one time considered "rare" are feeling a bit like chumps at the moment.
I know, I know, it's a toy company out to maximize profits, but taking actions like this will alienate the collector's market, a market on which they will rely heavily when their "Legends" line hits shelves. This "flood the market" action will weigh heavily on my decision on whether or not to keep buying their product in the future.

it could be that the figures were produced and just not yet packaged or accessoriesed until recently. But who knows.
