Both The Hurricane and Santino Marella have been removed from Sunday's Royal Rumble match, while Matt Hardy and Chris Masters have been added. Thus far, 24 participants have been announced.
Here is the updated card:
Raw: Big Show, Carlito, Chris Masters, Cody Rhodes, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, John Cena, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, MVP, Shawn Michaels, Ted DiBiase, The Miz and Triple H
SmackDown: Batista, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Kane, Matt Hardy and The Great Khali
ECW: Shelton Benjamin, William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu and Zack Ryder
It was also announced on Friday that Michelle McCool would defending her WWE Women's Championship against Mickie James at the event.
Matches announced thus far include:
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Undertaker (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
WWE Championship Match
Sheamus (c) vs. Randy Orton
ECW Championship Match
Christian (c) vs. Ezekiel Jackson
WWE Women's Championship Match
Michelle McCool (c) vs. Mickie James
I REALLY WANTED TO SEE TYSON KIDD & DAVID HART SMITH ADDED.

DAMN IT. I wanted to see Santino eliminate Batista, they should have removed Regal, Tatsu or Ryder.
And x2 for Hart Dynasty, they HAVE to be included.

What the deuce? I was really looking forward to seeing Hurricane.
Guess that's the price you pay for drunk and disorderly conduct.
Marella doesn't surprise me- he would have just been there for comedic fodder. But they did kinda really build him up last week on RAW and the week before with those segments with Swagger. Masters is a waste of time, so is Matt in this Rumble.
Praying to Jericho and Punk for Punk or Jericho to win.

I understand Helms , but why Santino? My guess is because he's a sitcom star now- and it would be beyond obvious he wouldn't be winning the Rumble and going onto a Mania main event. Either that, or they wanna sell his injury Swagger gave him this past Monday. |

Wait, so they removed a guy they've actually given a story to going into the Rumble? Stupid.
Not that Santino was going to win, but why remove him? That's just another continuity error.

Regal has this won for sure.......
Ok, so I don't know why Santino is out, but I do know why Helms is out. I am still hoping that Edge is a surprise entrant and subsequent winner, though my money is on Batista.

Atleast his catchphrase is over outside almighty Wfigs. Fact. Santino should be in over these 3, they're not going to win anyways. And atleast people know who he is. |

Bro, MVP really does deserve his spot in the rumble. He's been swimming around the midcard for a while- just recently making some huge strides with his promo work against the Miz. It's been probably the most consistently entertaining thing on RAW. I actually hope he makes it to the final four to give him some credibility. That being said, Regal, Ryder and Yoshi all deserve their spots as well. Ten-fold, Regal is one of the better heels the last two years on any brand, his roundtable has been entertaining and his sneaky heelish tactics could make for some entertaining moments. Yoshi is an exciting underdog type performer, and his quick-strike kick finisher, as well as surprising wins recently on RAW and ECW in big 6-man tag matches show that he has the backing of the WWE brass. Ryder is just gold in everything he does as of late, having Rosa ringside maybe to cheer him on could both be an enhancement and a distraction. I look forward to him being overly arrogant and bragadocious- thus getting him eliminated when he's not paying attention or showboating. I love the Zackster entirely, but it's not his time to win a Rumble match yet. A few years into the future, maybe....I really don't see any of these aforementioned guys winning it- but having them all there will make this a far better match than them being excluded. I see no reason for anyone to hate on any four of those men, or Hurricane or Santino. The Rumble needs mid-carders to be eliminated by the big fish, and it needs shocking upsets and surprises to build those guys lower down the food chain so they can work their way up and gain some credibility by getting that Rumble rub. |
