This feels just like 2003 again, when people started complaining about the new RA figures coming out, and then six months later everyone loved it, then another six months later, it was half and half.
I'm not saying it will be the same with Mattel, but the people saying "Jakks rules, Mattel sucks" have to think here a second. Mattel have only been selling these for one month, and your already complaining? At least give them until the summer or next year until you love or hate them. So far, they are doing a decent job.

Every store in my area is drowning in these figs and I live in Chicago, not exactly a ghost town devoid of children. I hate the figures, but to each his own. I think the line will do fine, it's just that Mattel flooded the stores with them.

funny how the towns of the people who hate the mattel figures seem to be full of these figures. Get over it it Jakks is done. Jakks did a good job but after the disrespect they showed you as a customer and collector the past 18 months your still going to support them? Sorry but I just do not understand how you can still defend them jakks pretty much said you to the customer but still wants you to buy there TNA figures.

I wish my store would get a case or two in soon, we only have a couple Signature Series Jerichos, Shawns, and Cenas hanging on the pegs.

Jakks saying FU to it's customers automatically makes Mattel figs the bestest evers.

I respect everybody's opinions, but I just don't get the whole "Jakks sucks vs Mattel rules" and vice versa attitudes... I collected Jakks and now I'm getting some Mattel figs too, and even though Mattels are very nice, I still love my Jakks figs. I know a lot of this general attitude came from their (Jakk's) big quality drop in the recent past, but you can't deny they did a lot of good stuff for a long time. Why can't most of the people (at least from the general sensation in this forum) migrate from Jakks to Mattel without totally hating on the "ex"? It's really odd... I am not migrating from Jakks to Mattel and I do not defend Jakks, Jakks dropped the ball on customers and fans. I have very few figs in my collection. The scale was always a problem but all mine a re MOC so, doesn't really bother me much. Mysterio same size as Taker, well I never cared for Mysterio anyway, he just looks out of place in WWE and would make a better career in Cirque du Soleil. I do not think I will ever buy Mattel, but I will buy LOTR and TNA.

ok ok ok we get it you hate mattel, you dont have to posts any more threads bashing them. I dont like them nor am I collecting them but I dont constantly bitch about them either.
I will always believe Jakks is superior and they proved that with their early releases. People can bitch and whine about the last few sets of Jakks but clearly you dont understand the business aspect of it if you bitch about it. If the TNA line is half assed then fine, Jakks screwed the pooch.
For the record, Mattel isnt on sale because the figure sucks its because they have a dumbass heading up their distribution department that clearly doesnt know how to balance out his supply and demand. I mean, hell I learned how to do that in middle school

Eradicated talent since the early 90's? Do you even think before you post? So there have been no good wrestlers in the WWE since the early 90's? You should stop now. You have no credibility. You're done.

With this half baked logic, anything you can readily find at a store failed then. You're saying every line in a Kmart store from the Microsoft X-boxes, to Head and Shoulders shampoo has failed because your store is stocked with them?
Those figures will easily sell in due time, you have to take into consideration it's a kmart store too, probably knocked down way low as far as the retail store totem pole goes, more people are gonna shop at a wal mart or ultra foods or whatever

Just FYI I do not hate Mattel as well as I do not need anyone's permission as to how many threads I can post in here. If you do not like my threads then just ignore them, as simple as that.

I honestly love the mattel figures i think they are nice well put together figures. Some are questionable but they are only a month in that happens but they have already given us amazing figures. Now im not in here to bash mattel or jakks as i collect wrestling figures i don't care who makes them. If they are thought out and well made and they appeal to me ill get them.
Jakks was amazing for quite a while but they also had some bad ideas as well (Stomp, Non Real Scan TTL Sculpts, Half-assing the last 6 months of the contract with the wwe license.) Ill always appreciate jakks because of the classic line and giving us various scales and was never disappointed with them until the last few months with the cost cutting and figures being dropped from lines. Ill probably still collect jakks when the tna & lotr figures roll around as there are some people id like to get figures of but if they half-ass these ones then ill have a problem with them.
Ill just say this to me i dont care whether you're jakks, mattel, ljn, hasbro, san francisco toy makers, galoob, or toybiz if you make a quality wrestling product that appeals to me ill buy it because i honestly don't care who makes the figures i collect as long as i like them. If you don't like a certain line then by all means don't like it but you don't have to go around bashing the product because all it does is start fights and is really uncalled for.
And as for mattel the stores around me can't keep them in stock including the flex force for some reason. My walmart has stocked 4 cases of basic 1, 1 case of Basic 2, 2 cases of 2 packs 1, 1 case of 2 packs 2, 5 cases of entrance greats, and 3 cases of flex force and the only thing on the shelves at this moment is a basic 1 hhh, batista, big show, & bourne. one of each and thats it which is pretty impressive to me.

I don't understand why people feel the need to crap all over other people's interests. If you don't like them, fine. We do. If you won't buy them, fine. We will. But why come in here and run your mouth about them? It isn't going to change any of our minds. So why waste your time or ours?

People can bitch and whine about the last few sets of Jakks but clearly you dont understand the business aspect of it if you bitch about it. If the TNA line is half assed then fine, Jakks screwed the pooch. At first I thought; is he serious??? Then it occured to me that you might be very young and are referring to the 1st RA-series. Because when Jakks was flooding the market with their first BCA series (back in 1995), most collectors scratched their heads, thinking what the hell are these??? Bootlegs? From day 1 Jakks proved they couldn't sculpt faces. Luck was on their side when realscan technology came along. Even with this technology they still managed to release weird faces (Marty Jannetty comes to mind...). So Jakks had realscan faces that where mostly good. On the contrary small guys where as tall as the big guys and paintjobs and tattoos often where minimal. OK, I'm picky; I'm a guy that prefers scaled figs (certainly when made after Y2K). So, I was glad Toybiz did WCW and later TNA. Now Mattel does WWE and one of these days I'm gonna get my first figs, but I think I'll love them: scaled, nice details, no half-assed paintjobs. Too bad TNA granted their license to Jakks... TNA will see more cartoonishly ripped army of same height he-men...

I mean yes Jakks' quality dropped in the last year but it was due to contract obligations and termination. Any company would do the same thing they did. I mean I am loyal to Jakks as a CS collector and I have almost no interest in buying anything Mattel. But that doesn't mean I hate Mattel and thinks Jakks is better. I simply like Jakks better. I like coke, while some people perfer Pepsi. Simple as that.

I'll just say this...If Mattel fell flat on their face with their WWE line...Then so did Jakks for 10+ years with theirs. And if that's the case and I was going to produce wrestling figures that I'd love to fall flat on my face like either company.
