I'm not a mattel hater,
But, much like how I look at "Girls"......
1) you could have the hottest body in the world
BUT...
2) If you have a BAD Face
I'm moving on to the next girl
Jakks always had good "Head Scans"

Every Jakks figure had stubby legs with HUGE thighs, bulky torsos and GIGANTIC biceps.
Hell, on the page before this one HHH's chest sticks out further than his face does.
They're figures looking NOTHING like an actual person. How anyone can dispute that is ridiculous to me.

Judging mattel based on how they sell in one area is a ridiculously wild statement to make. 16 wrestlemania heritage figs sold from a shop here within 3 days. Yet jakks still has plenty of stuff stuck there. Does that mean that the absolute 100% truth is that mattel sells better? No not necessarily. Dont make silly accusations. It varies from area to area and from what i hear mattel has not done too bad at all.
As for the whole realism debate, theres no denying that mattel wins. Im not being bias here but it is extremely evident from comparisons where the realism lies. Not to mention scale, something jakks never gave a damn about which they have even gone on record saying that they DONT intend to fix this with their TNA lines and future ones. They are too comortable and reluctant to change and it is this laziness that shines through in their lack of molds and realism.

With all due respect to everything you have said here, Mattel is not realistic. I saw them upclose, if anything they look cartoonish. 99% of them are off by far. Yes there is nice height difference, but Batista, HHH and CEna have ripped torsos!? What a joke, only one guy has a torso like this - Morisson. Kane has six pack? Undertaker with a tiny waist? Even Jericho and Hardy have six packs and in real life they have protruding guts. Then mysterio has long legs LMAO. Plus talk to me about realism, look at head-scans. Edge looks like he has dementia. Big Show looks like some child. Face scans are so off, that I do not even want to waste my time mentioning each and every one of them. The figures are way to skinny, look at MVP. Well, we all should remember that those are children of Barbie and DCUC or whatever that other dumb cartoon line is called, hence emaciation runs on genetic level on Barbie's side. They have all decided to loose weight to fit into designer threads ha ha. One more thing to say. It has been only two days since the thread is up and I see almost 2000 hits and a ton of screaming answers, insults and other things. Do not get worked up over over somebody's opinion, it is just an opinion. I guess when you have too much time on your hands you get bored easily. So stop excess toy shopping and texting, get out of the house, meet friends, sign up with the gym, learn how to wrestle etc. ....Whatever you do, do not let a toy take so much of an importance in your life. It is just a hobby a thing you put on a wall.

Someone should post a picture of Jakks' Paul Bearer next to their Undertaker, or Jimmy Hart next to anyone.

A guy feels the need to type wordy manifestos about how awful a company's product is, going into great detail about how much each figure put out by that company sucks to high heaven,
Then ends his ranting and raving by saying "do not let a toy take so much of aan importance in your life"
This is the funniest thing I have ever read on this board.

You want pics? I got pics. Wow, when did Jeff Hardy get arms as big as John Cena's and a six-pack that shows through his vest? Wow, when did Rey Mysterio get as bulky as Batista? Wow, when did Goldust get a six-pack that shows through his suit?

It is just a hobby a thing you put on a wall. Yes i wont deny it, some bodies are unrealistic in how ripped they are however proportions wise they are more accurate and are suited to that given superstar. Batista, HHH and Cena all deserve ripped torsos anyway, they have more definition than most others. Morrison isnt the only ripped one though and particularly when people flex or pose. Kane's six bag isnt that bad, you can see it a bit when he raises his arms and its not like the alternative is better with that jakks SHW which was far more unnatural looking. Sure hardy and jericho arent too fit but look at hardys elite, he doesnt have much definition at all. With jericho he can look a bit ripped at times and his figures have all had his thicker torso type as opposed to the alternative which again is jakks yet they give him an incredibly defined 6 pack V shaped torso. Matt hardy got the same. So by comparison, its impossible to say jakks is more realistic here, mattel however is to a great extent. Sure mysterios legs can look a little long but again look at jakks. His DA figs were absolutely huge with massive flairing pants and his legs were pretty long. I'll admit, the RAs leg length is better though. I know some scans are weak but there are plenty of good ones too. Edge does actually not look bad, some people got the wrong idea from the elites colour. However the scans alternative was RA29 from jakks and again, that scan came out far worse than the proto. I personally like the elite better and again im not being bias with either company. And im no fan of shows headscan, but there are many mattel ones that beat jakks ones like Kane, Henry, Hornswoggle, Santino, etc. Jakks strong point was the scans and they do have a good advantage here but nowhere near as huge as people make out. As for the skinny look, its simple, when you see the balloon bodies on RAs for years, you begin to assume it as normality that a change seems wrong or foreign when its not. But the pics side by side, the proportions are there. Also i respect everyones opinion is theres, you have yours, i have mine, everyone has theres. Please dont mention the whole 'outside world' stuff in attempt to nullify comments. Its a discussion topic about something in particular and thats why its being discussed. Plus a thread against the product the board is about is like throwing yourself into a pool of parannahs, you cant possibly think they wont bite back. Thats all.

I respect your opinion and your comments as well as I agree with you on many points you gave here. I never protected Jakks per say. I was always citing no difference in height and a biceps being unrealistic as well as "thunder" thighs. To sum it up I would say, both Jakks and Mattel need improvement.

Thanks. There is always room for improvement, its rare a company is ever 100% spot on all the time. Any could develop and go further, it all depends on the companies willingness.
Mattel seems keen to do this, time will tell if words translate to action. Mattel seem to be really open about things though and hopefully they strengthen some of their heads and maybe the hair issue.
Jakks still seems reluctant though to deal with the scale issue and more molds but there scans will obviously continue to be really solid.
Each company has stuff to work through. And if they didnt, then figures wouldnt evolve as much as they have.

bottom-line: nobody's perfect...
Jakks had some better head scans, and better paint apps on the hair...
Mattel has better-proportioned bodies and scale...
BOTH had great deco's,depending on the timeframe and figure...
i had over 500+ different Jakks figures throughout my total collecting timeline...all the way from the early BCA days (still remember driving over 100 miles to a TRU,just to get Owen Hart,Vader, and the Ultimate Warrior from series 2) up to CS last year....
and i gotta say, i like most of the Mattel stuff better...i can't tell you how much of a sticking point the whole scale thing is to me...haven't seen any bad deco's or tatoos on any of my figures yet,and the articulation is on par and comparable to Jakks stuff...
are they perfect? no...they could still use to develop a couple more body torso's to accurately reflect everyone's type, and i hope (and believe they will) develop quite a few different women's bodies...but overall i am quite happy with what we've gotten so far,and that is my opinion...
kayfabefan, yes, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, and,no,there shouldn't be "borders" as it were between groups on here...but the way you started this thread,it certainly didn't give a vibe of trying to be informative or anything...it gave a vibe of looking to rile people up and start a fight....if i went over to the Jakks board and started a thread titled "Mattel product hits retail. Shows why Jakks lost the licence" ,i'd have people going apesh*t over there too...just saying, whatever the intentions were originally, this thread gave the impression of one created looking to cause trouble...

Both companies have their strengths and weaknesses. Mattel has the scale and the details but I just don't think they look realistic. They look like regular people off the street, not larger than life wrestlers.
Jakks wasn't/isn't perfect but I still prefer them by far to what Mattel has been offering.
As far as the head scans. Yeah, Jakks turned out some crappy scans like the pics that somebody recently posted. But that was less than a dozen out of hundreds of figures over the years. Mattel is at about 50% hit and 50% miss right now with their heads (and that's even using the same company that Jakks went through and having years of Jakks experience to look at and research).
