Last night I found the Basic Series 2 Mysterio, that had the darker pants. Is this considered a variant? A running change? The first Rey I bought two weeks ago has the light blue attire.

It's a variant I'd assume. I don't want another Rey as I'm content with my Elite version so variant or not, I'm passing.

I think it's a running change. All the Reys I have seen over the last week have been the darker blue ones. The Walmarts I went to (4-5) had just stocked/restocked them and they were all dark blue.

I thought it was a variant at first but I returned to the walmart where I found one and all the new ones (like 4 or so) were dark blue, looks like a running change. if you notice the back of the card the proto is a dark blue. you might wanna pick up any light blues because who knows how long those will be around.

I got the light blue one last Saturday and went back to that Walmart on Tuesday figuring they won't have much but I saw the darker blue Rey and the packaging on the back is different where Mattel fixed the proto images like Punk has the x's on his hands,Kane's glove has the fingers painted on,the Rey is darker blue and hasthe glove straps on his hands and Swagger has his wristbands painted on

who knows is the lighter blue one is the one that will be rare in the future... i saw 3 darker blue versions at a walmart i went to today.... was going to pick them up...but decided not to
