I was at Wal-Mart earlier (one I had yet to really check for Mattel figures) and walked into a scenario that was both humorous and gave me a little joy for some reason. As I approached the figures I noticed there was really nothing left (maybe 5 figures left). So I grabbed Elite MVP. As I walk away I hear a little Hispanic boy with his mother going absolutely crazy. "REY MYSTERIO! CARLITO Y PRIMO! SHAWN MICHAELS!" I don't know why but the feeling of hearing his excitement was really awesome.
Anything like that happen to you guys?

ive seen a kid, maybe about 8 or 9, find a basic kofi kingston he was so happy he had a little spas attack in the middle of the iasle i also gave a little kid a rey mysterio elite figure that i was going to buy, i already had one but i wanted another one to keep MOC, but it was the last one and as i was walking away the kid was looking through the pegs and he told his mom that there was no rey, so i gave it to him it feels good to do something like that

Hmmm... when I found Basic 2 last week some kid was looking through the pegs and I was standing there with my Kane and Mark Henry. The kid really wanted a Finlay/Hornswoggle pack which was there too, but his mother wouldn't buy it for him and I kinda felt bad.. he marked out when he saw the pack. So I just went on with my browsing.

Nothing like that has happened to me, although I'm sure if I saw a series 10 DCUC Black suit Batman I'd then see a 24 year old do the Carlton dance... ok ok I wouldn't actually see it because it would be me doing it but regardless, I'm sure anyone else in the aisle would have a story to tell though.

I heard a kid saying to his mom and brother in the TRU WWE aisle "Chris Jericho sucks. He sucks, right? Why do they have a figure of him?"
I had to use the utmost self control not to apply the Walls of Jericho.
His mom said that no one likes him, that's why they had figures of him, because no one wanted to buy him.
She almost got the Codebreaker!
And little Hispanic kids do love Rey, I've seen one go crazy for a Rey Rey fig. I'm all for kids getting hyped over WWE figs, as long as there's one for me and one for him.

Happened the first day I went looking for Mattel figures. I was in Kmart and they just recently put out a full set of Heritage. There was this boy about age 10 that eventually came up behind me and started looking. I asked if he was looking for a certain one and he said no. All of a sudden he marked out like a little school girl when he saw Austin in his own eyes. His mom said she didn't have any money to buy it and told him to hide it and maybe his grandma could get it.
I only wanted Orton, Austin, Taker from the set so I got those and then I bought the other Austin for the kid. Pisses me off when a mom can't cough up $10 for a rare figure like that, but she obviously could buy a pack of smokes. The kid got lucky that day and I was able to accomplish my good deed for the year.

saw this kid grab a handful of figures and jump up and down the other day at TRU. I said hey kid, your mom just left the store. He threw them all down and I cherry picked the ones I wanted. then i started jumping up and down!

iv had 2 situations with little kids in stores. 1 of them was a lil kid hid a classic superstars 27 goldberg behind the spring rings and i found it, went to pay for it and i saw the kid going to his mom, "i put it right there!!" i was thinking, ahh i should give it to him but then his mom said he can have 2figures (im guessing he was originaly getting 1) so i thought still he should have goldbotch, but then he went crazy and had a tantrum n started calling his mom a battle axe (i have no idea), so i got it for myself ;D 2nd one: i was looking from a distance at the rings and this kid was saying to his mom "mark henry!!!" but it was a 2pack with tony atlas and his mom wouldnt buy him it, a lituraly right infront of me he waited for his mom to walk away and he ripped the 2pack open and took henry out of it and put it in his pocket, looked at me wierd and skipped off, he must have been like 6 or 7 i was like , tell me he did not just do that? i went back a week later and they was selling the atlas in its own for £4. that was the funniest and most awkward moment in figs for me.

nothing that fun ever happens lol. Usually it's just me and my girl friend and her asking me "who is he" and that's about it.
actually I lied. I went to Toys R Us last week with some of my buddies and bought that PPV Jeff Hardy figure (jakks figure) and as we walked out some old guy had his grand daughter there. He began to tell me how I shouldn't be buying toys and this is a kids store and tried laughing it off. And I said to him that in todays day and age 20 year olds like me buy more toys then kids. He could see I was a little pissed and laughed and walked away.

when i was on holiday in the US 2 years ago i was at Wal Mart and i saw a kid like 9-11 and he hid a HBK figure. Then he ran off shouting "MOM". So i took advantage and took the figure for myself. He came running back with his "mom" and he was like. Where has he gone? His "mom" walked off looking pretty pissed at him.

Yeah, I've been there before myself. Such an innocent little voice, resonating with such naivete; he doesn't care about paint apps or articulation. His only care is that the figure he wants is actually there. Time jades us and spoils us some. I used to have the youthful zest about me too. Puts a smile on my face when I see it first hand. Sometimes, I have to duck my hand in shame because I'm old and ought not be collecting action figures. But I'm addicted. As long as I don't sell them on Ebay and make a profit, I feel things are justified.
Wait, who am I fooling? My mother WOULD NEVER drop fifteen bucks on one action figure for me. Never. It was hard enough to get her to buy those fake GI Joe guys for three bucks each.
