Haha thats awesome, I remember when mattel's first came out i got the last HBK and Jericho then a scalper came along like 2 minutes after me and he was staring me down because he knew I got the last one. People like that take the joy out of collecting.

i hate scalpers for the fact they make it impossible to find anything.. i have to go out in the middle of the night to get a couple elite series 2 for my collection, if i dont they will be gone by morning.

When I used to buy from stores(they are all useless now) when I was about 16-17I used to be so embarassed to go to the till with 1 figure, god knows how scalpers can go with a bunch of figures. Wow interesting story. I have a weird but funny one. A few years ago I'm guessing 2005ish (When the first Papa Shango figure came out) I went to Wal-Mart to see what they had and I saw a kid probably no older than 11. Bending the tops of the Cards. I was watching him the whole time I asked "Why are you doing that?" he replied "The guy from the flea market won't buy them if the packages are bent I'm going to come back tonight!" I couldnt help but Laugh I guess the anti scalping. Sucks for any Moc Collectors that needed those figures and I'd think maybe illegal. Haha, thats a smart kid |

This reminds of when I when the DA 21 came out, a scalper waited till TRU opened, having his hand on the door (before TRU opened) he rushed inside and just when I was going to the WWE aisle he crowded the whole DA peg and took all 5 Hardys.I mean I just stood by him and felt like I wasted my time and money going to TRU.The next day he did the same, so on the third day I finally got the Hardy and while I was paying I saw him again...I could understand maybe if people buy 2 or whatever for moc/loose or but I mean 5 of the same figures and yet to come three days in a row?

I am 27 and own a home, the thing I dont like is when the "scalpers" work at the stores or get there the minute the store opens the product never gets a chance to get to the shelves. I used to work at a KB toys and this one guy would come in before we could even get the boxes out and want to tear them open. It was sad when the kids came in looking for Rey or Jeff Hardy and couldnt get them because the guy down the mall owned his own store and was selling the figs for three times the amount. When we would get the shipment I had an idea of what the scalper wanted so I would hide them on the top shelf so when a kid came in I would have it for them. The scalper never got a Hornswoggle from my store but 10 kids did for x-mas I have also bought an extra of one product to resell later down the line hoping the value increases. There is a difference between buying 1 extra figure and 10 extra of the same figures. That is exactly how I feel. I worked at a TRU and right freaking next door was a little shop called "Kitty World" that sold collectibles, Pokemon cards..all that stuff. Every hour, the owner's son would go in and check. Feel bad for the poor kids that went to TRU looking for Rey not finding one and have to beg their parents to pay $19 for one next door. This. These people contribute nothing to the economy. Sure, they are spending money at TRU, but kids and their parents wouldve spent the same amount. If they want to sell wrestling figures, why dont they just call up the wholesale distributors? Personally, I have never bought a figure with the intention of reselling as any figure I sold is just something taking up space in my house that I no longer want. |

You are taking figures out of the hands of people who could have gone to the stores you go to and bought those figures. So now people have to pay your prices +shipping for something they could have gotten for regular price at their local stores. You're not providing a service, you're taking away from collectors and kids and making money off of it. You're a scalper. Just admit it. |

You know I don't normally get involved in these arguments but I feel like I should say something. I've dealt with kjtoys and can honestly say it was the best experience I've had on here. Sure $35 seems like a lot for an elite that retails at $15 but if you read his auctions it also says or best offer. I know when he got those extra series 2 elites he wrote me right away and offered them to me for cost . Did he have to do that? He also hooked me up with another member on here that I wouldn't have talked to for a great deal that he could have easily taken himself but he knew that I needed the figs that were being traded. So sorry to anyone I've offended but he took great care of me and continues to try to help my figure hunting, so kudos to him. |

Look, scalpers are plain disgusting if u take many or all away from the shelves and resell them for a profit, no matter how small.
I have NO issue with people buying 1 or 2 and selling them to fund their collection habit (or addiction) but cleaning out shelves and coming back time and time again to check for new stock is just disgusting.

That's what I'm finding very strange about the scalpers on here. Mattel figures are already very expensive, even the online stores are barely charging more than retail. So are there really people on ebay that are going to pay the kjtoys prices? is there a reason why you have to bring my name up? I have very good prices on ebay and i give members even better deals.. Ur prices are jacked man |

I have no problem with people who get to a store first, and buy whatever they want. That's life. I do have a problem with stores allowing workers to sift through the cases before they hit the floor. That is just bad policy.
