I just have to control myself so this is what I do. I only collect basic singles. I chose basics because they are cheaper than elites. I won't buy doubles. Only one Cena,Batista etc. At 6 or less (when doubles start coming out) every other month I will acquire a nice collection at an affordable price within my budget.

when i go to tru and see they have the new set out i buy them one at a time in the order that i want them.there might be the rare time when i have extra money (sold something or gotten extra money around the holiday) then i will buy two figures.

I'm not a completist so there could be times I get nothing or there are times when I'll get all, but it all balances out. But if there's a finnacial issue when I see figures I want I'll just get the ones I really want then and hold off on the rest until I see them again. And if I don't see them again then I just won't get them.
Most of the Mattel WWE stuff I got were late Christmas gifts & Early Valentine's day gifts from my wife. And we bought them all on sale between two 20% off all Mattel WWE TRU Reward coupons, four $5 off TRU Rewards coupons and KMarts Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale.

I like most ofthe new stuff from mattel but limited myself to only must MUST haves. Don't settle for a fig thats less than perfect because they'll probably release a fixed up one later on. Out of the first 6 series i've seen (basc 1, wm heritage, basic 2 pack 1 and 2, elite 1, entrance greats) I only got 7 figs that i thought were absolutely perfect and I'm 100% happy with. Plan ahead of time what you will get. We get enough pics in advance to make that determination. As for basic 2, when i see it again, I'll only get Kane. I used to blow alot of money on Jakks and believe it or not, after i stopped, i was easily able to afford a vacation to florida, disney world miami beach, the whole works, which was alot better than picking up every figure i could find.

I should maybe specify, I only collect Elite's and UFC's...the problem really is that i couldn't find ufc's anywhere, and finally did and was like, crap, there goes some money |

Well I don't drink or smoke which helps. And I make good money at work, so after the house payment & bills are paid of I usually have a fair amount left over.

I have around like... 30 Mattel figures right now. I decided to cut back and will be buying select figures. I spent $60 like nothing last week in Target which I kind of realized was a bit much... lol. For Elite figures, I'm only buying really special ones. I'll stick with the Basics as they even seem better to be honest, plus they're cheaper. If I spend $20 a week (if that) on figures that's fine, no problem. I'll be limiting my buys.

I only collect Elites, so obviously I just see if I like any of them that are coming up.

2nd. Check for rares/1 of 1000s (If none are there find most wanted fig)
3rd. Buy it

Here are some things you could do Have a yard sale, rob a bank?, sell vital organs, GET A JOB wow, uncalled for, I happen to have a job, thanks, full time even, so, go blow yourself, it was just a question Yeah sorry about that, i wasn't having my best day..  .. Heres wat i do.I find the best way possible to save money on figs. Before i go to any stores i look on amazon and ebay and look for deals like the royal riches k mart deal. And every now and then i'll take a few of my dvds and get a loan on them at a pawn shop. |
