What are the extents of the WWE+Mattel & TNA+Jakks Contracts? just wondering how long we have to endure mattels inferior product =/ ....Thing is i dont hate the mattel product but it is -so- not as good as jakks =/

How are they not as good as jakks? I understand that some of jakks head scans are better but besides that the bodys on the mattels are fantastic, Also my guess is that mattel can make what jakks doesnt have on contract with TNA and Mattel and can make what WWE has meaning the rights of gimmicks and what no, As for the gimmicks WWE owns and the talent that TNA has meaning the talent that used the WWE gimicks cant be done at all, Thats what im thinking, Im prolly wrong but who knows.

If there is something important at real people action figures that thing is headscans... You can have the world's best head scan, but when the body is grossly out of proportion and extremely incorrect, it kills the figure for me. |

Sorry but neither Jakks or Mattel are perfect. They both have major and minor flaws and both have great positives.

Flaws or not Mattel is 10X better than Jakks. Jakks can nail a head scan, but then sometime it's too damn huge, or the rest of the figure has a lot of missing detail or just plain black trunks or tights. How many times did Jakks give us half assed figures? I'm not one to debate Jakks having better head scans sometime, hell I switched my Elite 2 Matt Hardy head with DA Matt. However, Jakks has shown that they don't give a sh*t about their buyers, selling sh*t product because their mad at someone else did it for me. And their figures ARE NOT the best, their just what everyone has become accustomed to.

I have heard that Mattel is with WWE for 5 years. I think that it will be like what happened in the 13 year period with Jakks

I would think that if Mattel keeps up at the rate they're on now, with improvements of course; they're not perfect but they're already showing signs of superiority over Jakks in areas, that their contract will definitely get extended and or renewed. Especially as McMahon has stated that he's happy with Mattel.

It all comes down to the dollar. CS1 and CS3 had TTL and R3 figures in them. I understand the situation with Jakks, but why half ass figures that your loyal customers are going to buy? WWE wasn't buying the figures they were selling them. And AD13? TTL arms? For years we got half assed figures, the whole TTL line in general, what was with the limited playability? Jakks' best line IMO was the FC/FM. If they did those over DA, I would for sure still be a loyal Jakks fan. I am a huge fan of their UFC line, which believe it or not have the same body proportions as Mattel. MY Y2J and Chuck Lidell have the same size arms. Jakks' problem is having guys like Rey the same size as Kane, scale issues bugs me to death. They can nail a head scan, but the rest of the body is crap and it really gets on my nerves, and then they just play it off like they don't even give a sh*t. Jakks COULD BE the better of the 2 companies if they put more effort into their line. But they want to cut every corner possible, look at what Mattel did with John Morrison's boots covers, just a simple plastic piece that slides over the boots, why couldn't Jakks do that? Because they couldn't save an money by doing that. |
