While reading the thread about Linda McMahon on MSNBC,I noticed a bit of a debate concerning the PG rating for WWE programming that we have nowadays. In lieu of moving that thread off topic I decided to voice my opinion in a seperate thread and get more feedback from you guys. I personally believe some of the changes have been for the better. The sex stuff is not,nor was it ever necessary, and it has led to the women being portrayed in a better and more athletic fashion. And the rating is forcing the writers to try to be more creative for angles than some of the rediculous low road (miscarriges, cheating bfs\gfs,soap opera crap)storyline of the Attitude era. Unfortunately IMO,they haven't done anything that really meets that challenge either. Anyway, the language is something that needed to be cleaned up just so it would mean a little more when someone does get angry enough to swear. I think ass ,damn ,and occassionally sob are ok if used sparingly. Unfortunately with the rating enforced as it is ,no one can even use it on that level. Still, that can be ignored....my big gripe with PG is the blood ban. Its totally unnecessary. The use of blood has always been to add drama to a match. To put it over the top and make it all the more epic. I am in no way suggesting we see it in just any match,or every week,or even on every ppv. I am not talking about blood for the sake of blood...this aint old ECW. But cage matches,HIAC,Elimination Chambers,or street fights without blood are anti climatic and less beleivable. That's my 2 cents.....now....debate away!

The WWE should be TV14, somewhere between the Attitude Era and the kiddie crap today. If South Park went PG, can you imagine how fast their ratings would drop?

A TV-PG rating is nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be. When a show like Married With Children (a personal favorite) can have reruns that are rated TV-PG any higher ratings don't matter. You can use small amounts of cursing and blood in a PG rated show. WWE knows what they're doing.

When I was growing up I saw blood everywhere, now to stop a match for bleeding purposes? I mean that's a tad much don't you think?

I don't care about it too much, but I think its ridiculous that WWE can have a Hell in a Cell themed PPV with no blood. Plus I miss more mature promos, like Cena's from 04.

I still think that the guys can still deliver on the promos.......well the 7 or 8 who can actually cut one well.....without the cursing. As for Taker and Punk bleeding at the Rumble, well I would'nt know cause I stopped shelling out money for WWE ppvs after the bore fest that was HIAC.
