Jim Ross: Welcome to the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, New York. Tonight we start off with Arn Anderson. Welcome Arn.
Arn Anderson: You're all probably wondering why I did what I did at Superbrawl. Why I quit the Horsemen. Well, I'll give you a simple answer. I finally saw the potential Dean Malenko has as a wrestler. He may not be ready or willing to live the Horsemen lifestyle, but after the PPV, he certainly can wrestle like a Horsemen. Also, I felt disrespected by Ric Flair. He just thought of me as a lackey and I am much more than that. I am a great performer and any day Flair, I'll prove that to you.
Jim Ross: Then why did you help Flair win?
Anderson: Because I'd rather see him as champ than Terry Funk. Terry Funk is not up to the standard of being a champion. We simply could not let him walk away with the belt.
Jim Ross: We? Who is this we you are talking about?
Anderson: Dr. Death, of course. He helped me in my plan to take down Terry Funk. But there was another man that had a hand in helping both myself and Steve Williams come together. That man will be revealed in just a moment, but first I must say, I am creating a rival group to the Horsemen and the Freebirds. It will feature myself, Steve Williams and the new United States champion, Paul Orndorff. And of course, a group is not complete without a manager. So without further ado, let me bring out that man. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.
Jim Ross: What? Bobby Heenan? I knew something was up with him.
Heenan: That's right Ross, I have joined up with those three men. The Trinity of Divinity. These three men will run right through the competition here in WCW. And I think it's time that Arn Anderson receive a title shot against Ric Flair. If there were any justice in the world, that would happen at the next Pay Per View. I have informed Eric Bischoff and let him know that I am reactivating my manager's license and I will be leaving the broadcast booth. I don't know who your next partner will be Ross, but I'm sure he won't be half as good as I was.
Jim Ross: What's this. I am receiving word that Eric Bischoff will be out here later tonight to address the main event of the next Pay Per View. So I guess you two will have to wait until later to see if Arn gets the title shot. Thank you both for being out here, let's send it up to Gary Michael Cappetta for the first match.
GMC: Now entering the ring, hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Terry Gordy. His opponent from Morristown, Tennessee, Tim Horner.
The match didn't last long with Tim Horner getting no offense or defense in. Terry Gordy dominated. Hitting a big boot, Samoan drop and dropkick before going for his finishing move, the power bomb. After the match, the other two members of the Freebirds came down and attacked Horner and stood over his lifeless body.
Jim Ross: Welcome back, I still don't have a broadcast partner, I guess I'll be going it alone. Let's go to the next match.
GMC: In the corner to my left, weighing in at 243 pounds, from Charlotte, North Carolina, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. And in the corner to my right, weighing in at 315 pounds from The Department of Corrections in Cobb County, Georgia, The Big Boss Man.
Boss Man started out with rights and lefts to Flair, trying to prove himself. He kicked Flair and preformed a double under hook suplex. Flair got up and Boss Man belly to belly suplexed him. Boss Man stomped on Flair and picked him up and tried to suplex him again, but Flair blocked it and tried to lift him up for a suplex, but when lifting him, he couldn't hold the weight and Boss Man dropped across Flair. The ref counted only a two and Flair kicked out. Later on, Flair went to the top rope, but Boss Man threw him off. He placed Flair on the ropes, ran to jump on top of him, but Flair moved out of the way. Boss Man landed with his feet in the air and Flair tried to take advantage and covered him, but only got a 2. Boss Man got up and Flair finally suplexed him and went for the figure 4. Boss Man got close to the ropes, but Flair pulled away to the middle of the ring and Boss Man had no choice but to tap.
Jim Ross: I'm standing here at the interview zone with Eric Bischoff. Welcome Mr. Bischoff.
Eric Bischoff: Thank you Jim, I just wanted to come out here and announce a radical idea for the next PPV. A triple threat 3 man tag match. Three teams of three men. The teams will fight until there is one person is left. If one team is left and there are more than one wrestler left, the team will fight until there is only one left. The first fall of the match will decide the United States championship. The first person to get a pinfall or a submission will be declared the United States champion. The last fall will decide the World Heavyweight champion. It is conceivable that the US champ can become the World champion. The three teams will be the Freebirds, the Trinity of Divinity and the Horsemen. Also, next week, you will get your new broadcast colleague.
Jim Ross: Well thank you for your time Mr. Bischoff, we have to go to commercial.
Jim Ross: It is now time for the main event.
GMC: In the ring at this time, weighing 255 pounds, from Rome, Georgia, Arn Anderson. And his opponent, from Amarillo, Texas, weighing 240 pounds, Terry Funk.
After a few minutes of trying to upstage the other, Terry Funk tried for a DDT, but Anderson countered with an arm drag. Funk tried running off the ropes, but Heenan tripped him. The ref admonished him telling him if he does it again, he'll be sent to the back. Anderson suplexed Funk and then showered him with rights. Anderson gets Funk up, throws him to the ropes and attempts to hit his spinebuster, but Funk ducks out the way and clotheslines Anderson. Funk picks up Anderson, kicks him in the midsection and grabs Anderson's head, going for the DDT. Anderson pushes Funk back and hits the ref. Bobby Heenan gives Anderson the advantage as he takes off his shoe and hits Terry Funk with it. Anderson picks Funk up, sends him to the ropes and nails his spinebuster. The ref comes to and counts the 3 for the win.
Jim Ross: Maybe we need a ref on the floor to make sure interference doesn't happen. This is getting sickening. Good night.
Arn Anderson: You're all probably wondering why I did what I did at Superbrawl. Why I quit the Horsemen. Well, I'll give you a simple answer.
