Yesterday, on a Mattel thread titled something like, "Hardest Mattel figure to find".....I posted that Mattels are plentiful here (southeast-South Carolna), however the one Mattel that I haven't seen in ANY store was the EG HBK.....well, less than an hour after I posted, I found one: On my way home from school earlier (because of pending snow storm), I ran into a WalMart quickly & found this HBK. This WalMart had just gotten them along with the Basic Series 2....I saw & passed on a Kozlov 1/1000 and did see the darker blue Rey figure........I have noticed that at least here (SC) WalMart seems to have the darker blue ones here, while TRU seems to carry the lighter shade (like a Tarheel blue) of blue Rey...(ha, Blu-Ray!).
I picked up the Elite Trips today at a local Target (which had 2 of each figure on the pegs) but they did NOT have the Basic 2's yet nor the EG HBK.
I will try to post some loose photos tomorrow within this same thread, although I think most everyone has seen them many times already.
I also found an ELITE REY at Target, which I picked up for trade....check out my link below to my NEW classified Haves & Wants.....

Pass on a 1/1000. Sheesh! Cant find one. Not one. Not even out of a fresh case.

Me too.  ^ I would never pass on it but I guess if you have no care for Kozlov then I could see why. At least you found something you did want. |

My home town of boring old Quincy, Illinois never gets any exclusives like 1/1000 except like store exlusives. I honestly thought you were going to talk about dvd's when i read Blue-Rey!!! LOL. I feel so stupid.

and let me add this to those of you who may kind of "Diss Me" for passing on a 1/1000 Kozlov:
First of all, I hardly know who this wrestler is & plus, I don't care for him, thus I don't want a figure of the guy.
Secondly for those of you who may say, "Buy and then trade him"....I have found it difficult to trade 1/1000 figs. Early on, I found a few of very cool 1/1000 & did make a couple of great trades......however trading these 1/1000 is all about timing.
For the past 2 weeks-I have had several 1/1000 figs-posted in the classifieds-with hardly little response. I have a 1/1000 Taker, which I consider a great 1/1000 and apparently no one else wants it, so I am kinda of tired of getting them, only to be stuck with them later on.
Counting the ones I have kept, the ones I have traded and the couple I have sold (locally-not on eBaY) I have found about 10-12 total that I have purchased, but typically NOT the exact ones I wanted. I also passed on maybe 3 or 4 1/1000 Evan Bournes as I don't care for him either.
Third-If I get a 1/1000 figure I really don't want-I am labled a scalper & if I don't get it....I am called a putz, so its a no win situation.
Honestly-I am not above making a couple of bucks on eBaY if were to find some really hot (and not just wrestling figures) but I am NOT the Goodwill store either.....with guys here on the board, pretty much wanting me to be their personal assistant & buy figures for them, when I don't know them at all.
Many of us have folks we trade with repeatedly & do favors for each other too. That kind of trading comes from a long history of doing business with someone you like & feel comfortable with.
I feel its presumputous (to expect someone whom you have NEVER dealt with before) to expect me or you or anyone to spend their time, money, energy, gas and effort to get figures for absolutely no compensation or reward after the fact.
Bottomline....successful trading is usually based on good timing and poor trading is usually based on greed or stupidity, and I know as I have experienced them both!

Ahhh that tends to happen (what you experienced with HBK). Glad you got it now though. Interesting about the rey, maybe the certain stores receive certain waves though. Nice buy on trips and good job on leaving koslov for someone who wants it more.  |

Congrats on your finds. I'va passed on 1/1000's as well because I had them already. (Kane 2X, Big Show 3X) Pass on a 1/1000. Sheesh! Cant find one. Not one. Not even out of a fresh case. Weird...I don't think I've seen a fresh case that didn't have a 1/1000 |
