they're not. playmates has them on hold. Wonder why?? because Playmates has alot of problems right now. most of their lines are currently on hold and they are having a problem getting retail chains to bring in new merchandise as their last releases didnt sell at all and are still sitting on clearance shelves in Target, Wal-Mart, & TRU today. they finally cancelled the Terminator: Salvation line after having the second series on hold for 2 years, the TMNT comic line is delayed indefinitely and they are having licensing problems with TMNT's new owners and NECA may end up with the full license. they entered into a partnership with Diamond for Star Trek just to keep some money coming in. so the they had to put this line on hold as no retail chain wants to pick up a line of figures based around a foreign property that is unknown to the general public in the US produced by a company that got themselves a reputation of making figures that wont sell. there's a very good chance that these will never get released in the US.

I have recently read that the cable channel MTV2 (which my cable service does carry, but I don't know if other "major" cable or satellite companies do) will start airing an English language AAA program starting later this summer. If this is true, than it may increase the chances that the figures are eventually released. I hope so, as the protos looked great!

That Kinda stinks that because Execs decide to make toy lines on the flavor of the month in theaters (which never sell very well) wrestling fans suffer. And unknown? I live in Chicago AAA wrestling comes on t.v. here, so I wouldnt go as far as to say that Lucha Libre is Unknown. Not as Popular as wwe yes, but not unknown.

I live in Chicago AAA wrestling comes on t.v. here, so I wouldnt go as far as to say that Lucha Libre is Unknown. Not as Popular as wwe yes, but not unknown. i said unknown to the general public. which the promotion is. AAA airs nationally in the US on Galavision. but its a spanish only channel that pulls content directly from their same channel in Mexico. if you walk down the street in Chicago and ask 100 people who La Parka Jr. is or Dr. Wagner Jr. is at least 90% wont have a clue what you're talking about. ask those same people who John Cena or The Undertaker are and the results would be reversed. when Marvel Toys had the TNA license, how well did those sell at retail? TNA was more well known here and in Europe than AAA and those figures shelf warmed. while the 30 or so of us that frequent this section of the site on a regular basis would love for these to come out and become a full line, the audience that these figures are geared towards wont buy these at the numbers necessary for the success of the line and what's needed for a retail chain to make a profit, which is unfortunate for us.
