what difficuilty do you guys play on? I play on experienced. Honestly having no problems fighting with Rampage except for standing up against Rashad or going on ground with Shogun.

How do submissions work? Just the same as UFC 2009?

How do submissions work? Just the same as UFC 2009? Not even close. It works via the shine, and they're hard as ****.

What I really loving about this game is how they've seemingly stressed the importance of protecting yourself. It really only takes one good combo or flurry to put any fighter down, and it feels like they've empasized that quite well in this game.

I tried 2009, but I just couldnt get the hang of grappling at all. i couldnt keep people in control, submissions, or escape for anything, so if i am taken down im done. it sucks, i just cant do it, i suck at games too much lol, so probs gonna pass on this one

I've seen a lot of people complain about how much easier it seems to be knocked out or rocked, and it's for that reason, you need to protect yourself! New/Extended Career Mode Tutorial

New/Extended Career Mode Tutorial Yeah man, that's how any real fight is. It took a few good uppercuts from Carwin to put Frank Mir flat on his face, and Mir was fresh.

After more time with the demo I'm understanding the whole KO situation, you really do need to protect yourself at all times. I still don't really get the clinch and submission game though.

Yeah that's one aspect I really love about this years game, having to really protect yourself and pick your shots. Game seems so much more realistic this way. Going to a decision is actually really fun this year too because I never know if I'm actually going to win, it's always such a back and forth battle if I go to decision.
Rampage on expert is a beast standing up, everyone else I can beat 2/3 times. But I'm lucky to beat Rampage 1/3 times, my key to victory with him so far has been takedowns, GnP and a lot of counter punches.

...huh. Since all the fighters are within points of each other I dunno why they had to nerf everybody's overall rating from last year's game, but at least now the created fighters should be able to hang with the real guys.

Man, I need to get my PS3 back online so I can get this demo. Unless gamestop wants to be nice and give me a disk version for my preorder.

You guys are real gullable if you believe for one moment those stats are real. The article said how the stats are revealed in tournament mode, we have that mode in the demo and no overall stat is shown anywhere. Plus them re-doing the way overalls are rated would be dumb and a waste of time, because the individual stats haven't changed. You still have striking def/off, sub def/off etc etc.
Sorry but I'm not bying that list until a reliable source confirms it such as THQ or the UFC undisputed community site. Makes no sense how guys were rated up to 94 last year and now no one is even 80? Plus CAF will kill online with over ranked fighters, something THQ knows was a problem last year.

Well, maybe we're dumb. But if they're right, you'll look dumb and be a total jakazz for posting something like the above. Having class goes a long way my friend.

Finally got my first submission on expert. Just beat the crapout of Machida's body to the point where any shot would rock him to the ground, then I just jumped on him, reversed a bunch of his transitions and he tapped to a Kimura.

I love how tournaments are treated as such on commentary. I just played through a 16 man arcade tournament, and every round Mike and Joe would make mention about what round it is, etc.
A couple of my favorites were in the semi-finals and finals. At the start of my semi-final fight Joe mentions how there are still 3 fights to go with top level guys.
At the start of the final match Mike and Joe started off with a conversation about how "We started with 16 men Joe, but now we're down to the final two and are about to declare a champion."
"This belt's been without a home for far too long Mike."
Little details like that are what makes this demo alone awesome. Can't wait for the full game on the 25th.

Pre-ordering this tonight at JB hi-Fi in Sydney...Doing so on trade-in, and will come with a commemorative tin and DVD of UFC 110, which set the attendance record for any event at the Acer Arena.
Can't wait...
