Has anyone ever seen a bat just flying around outside? Other than in a zoo...I think that would be something awesome to see.

yea, i've seen bats flying around outside a couple of times. Also I go on a caving trip at least once a year, and you can see them up close, like literally, theyre in your face. Its kind of cool. As long as you dont mess with them, they wont bother you.

When I worked at a movie theater, we had a bat stuck in the hall once.
Also, my wife used to work at a science center and used to do the bat demo, so she'd bring me in the back to see the bat between shows.

Yes, one flew into my house when I left a window open, I had to corner it with a laundry basket and shoo it back out.
It was pretty awesome, actually.

Years ago in the summer, there was a few bats that would fly really low in our backyard near dusk. Which is weird, because we live in the city, but they were pretty cool.

Yep, flying around at night near where I live, and most times, once you see one, several more just zoom into view at the same time...

Over the summer one got into my porch, it flew in circles like 50 times before we trapped it and put it outside.

My best friend used to get bats in his house all the time. I'm terrified of those things. I never told him this but I intentionally avoided staying at his house when we were in highschool to avoid that thing. He'll know after reading this though lol.
Another time was when I was like 12. We used to go to this church way down in the sticks. I came out of the front door after a night service and BAM! I come face to face with a frigin bat. That's probably what initiated my phobia.

I thought this would be a catchy title, that led into a story of you being hit in the head by a bat. I was extremely dissapointed.
On a serious note, I saw some when me and my classmates took a field trip to a cave.

Yes, I have seen bats outside of zoos. I could really see them when I was swimming late at night and they were like chasing bugs. Pretty cool.
