Episode #5 - Feb. 17, 2010
The show opens with Randy Orton standing in the locker room backstage with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, Jr. He congratulates DiBiase on making the right choice to join Legacy at Wrestlympics, but there is more pressing tasks tonight: "You are both losers. That's why you're in the Feast or Famine matches tonight. Now, with two triple threat matches set to determine the fates of six men, I need to be sure that both of you will be here. I talked to Matt Striker, and I got you both in seperate matches. I've done my part, now it's your job to win those matches. Because when I win the World title, and then the Heavyweight title, I want you two to stand beside me, as the Welterweight, and Cruiserweight champions, as well as the Tag Team Champions. We will rule this company, and it starts tonight.
"You're Not in on the Joke" by Cobra Starship pipes through the arena speakers while the camera pans the fans, who are on their feet, ecstatic to be in the arena as WWA's Northern Combat Eps. #5 eminates from Duluth, Minn! Joey Styles and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcome everyone to the show from ringside.
To the shock of the fans, none other than the immortal "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan made his way to the ring to kick off the night. Hogan walked down to the ring to a huge pop, grabbing a microphone. Hogan, wearing a wWa shirt in the style of the nWo logo, said he liked where Northern Combat was going, but thought he could make it better - that's why he came tonight. "You see, 'maniacs, the Hulkster knows that Northern Combat is brimming with talent, but I also know that they could use a shot in the arm, and that's why I wanna bring the band back together right here in WWA!"
The fans immediately jumped on Hogan, booing the idea. Hogan started to get flustered, saying that he knew entertainment better than the fans or anyone in the locker room. Before he could continue, Brock Lesnar's music hit over the speakers. Lesnar walked down to the ring, coolly and calmly. He jumped up on the apron, and fireworks blasted from each of the turnbuckles. Lesnar smiled as he got in the ring, grabbing a microphone from Michael Buffer. He then went to shake Hogan's hand, but when they grasped, Lesnar's smile left his face, and he pulled Hogan in. Lesnar then threw the legend up on his shoulders and hit him with a massive F-5! Hogan bounced out of the ring and Lesnar ripped off his shirt, grabbing the microphone.
Lesnar had the censors on the button with his promo, calling the action of CWE's Shawn Michaels "chicken sh*t" and announcing that he wanted HBK - TONIGHT! With that, he was interrupted by Lt. Commissioner, Matt Striker. Striker announced that while that would be a great match, Commissioner Malenko had security making sure that HBK was not in the arena tonight. "But the fans want to see you in action, Brock, and that's why they will - in tonight's main event. And you won't take on just any opponent, you will take the #1 Contender for your, well, FORMER, championship -- Randy Orton."
Brock nodded his head in approval, tossing his mic to the ground as Striker left to the back.

CRUISERWEIGHT MATCH: Bryan Danielson vs. Kofi KingstonAs we returned from commercial break, another new theme hit over the speakers as none other than the former ROH champion, "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, made his way to the ring! Dragon ran to the ring, receiving a favorable reaction as he climbed the turnbuckles and urged the crowd in his favor. The crowd was back on their feet as his opponent made his way to the ring... "SOS" hit over the speakers, and Kofi Kingston made his way to the ring to face the newest member of the WWA-NC roster. After bumping fists, the two men locked up for what was sure to be one of the more exciting match-ups we have seen on WWA television in a while! While both men showed off their abilities to fly around the ring, it was Danielson's ability to showcase his technical prowess that allowed him to take the upperhand throughout much of this match. The "controlled frenzy" helped Kofi in their early going, but the "American Dragon" showed off his knowledge of wrestling throughout the world, having a counter to even Kofi's innovative offensive style. In the end, Danielson was able to lock Kofi in the Cattle Mutilation for a submission victory.
Winner via submission: Bryan Danielson - (9:01)
As Danielson walked up the ramp, he was met by Jonathon Coachman, who asked him how it felt to win his debut in WWA. "Coach, it's great to be here in front of these fans tonight, wrestling for the greatest ATHLETICS company in the business. You know, beating Kofi tonight was big, but it's just step one. A guy I know real well just won the Cruiserweight title, and I plan on being the one to take it from him." Danielson left to the back, sounding very confident.

Backstage, Commissioner Malenko enters his office, flagged by the Grey Shirt Security. Lt. Commissioner Striker is speaking with the Real Man's Man at the time. Malenko interrutps, "Gentlemen, it's good to be back. But you know, I was just out in the hallway speaking with the new WWA Pound-for-Pound World Champion, Paul Burchill, and he had an interesting suggestion." Striker and the Man's Man looked confused. "He said that he had been hoping to get his hands on the Man's Man again soon. He told me things weren't quite done between you two, and I can see why. But, he had a suggestion for me which I think you would agree to. You face an opponent of his choosing later tonight, and if you win, you get a title shot right here, next week." Striker and the Man's Man look excited. "...but there's a catch. If you lose, you take that mask off once and for all, and if you are who I think you are, you will never step foot in a Northern Combat ring AGAIN." Striker and Man's Man look grim, looking each other in the eyes. "...but it's up to you. You have until the top of the hour."
FEAST OR FAMINE MATCH: Charlie Haas vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Matt Hardy
Charlie Haas stood in the ring as we returned inside the arena, and one-third of Legacy, Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring, as the crowd reigned down with boos. Rhodes climbed into the ring as Matt Hardy made his way to the ring, finally giving the fans something to cheer about in this match, which would be the first of two matches in which athletes can earn themselves a title shot and a spot on the roster going forward. While Haas and Rhodes decided early on to double-team Hardy, their union quickly shattered when Rhodes turned his back on the "World's Greatest Athlete," planting him to the mat with an inverted DDT. With Hardy on the outside, Rhodes beat down on Haas for several minutes, before Hardy climbed back in and took it to both men, before tossing Rhodes from the ring. He then grabbed Haas and hit him with the Twist of Fate! Hardy then turned him over and hooked both of his legs for the pinfall and the 1... 2... 3! count.
Winner via pinfall: Matt Hardy - (7:41)
Southern Warfare Comissioner, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is shown arriving backstage in his pickup truck. He'll make a special announcement - NEXT!
- commercial -
Glass shattered over the speakers, and the legend, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin made his way to the ring, as a Southern Warfare logo emerged on the screen in front of the Northern Combat logo. Austin grabbed the microphone and said that while he'd love to raise some hell, he's on official business. He announced that what we saw on WWA-X was just a small sampling of the roster that Southern Warfare would be debuting on March 7. Along with the WWA Southern Championship match between Undertaker and Batista, there will be a #1 Contender's tournament featuring Jeff Hardy, Jeff Jarrett, and the Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle. And Angle will be competing against whomever is sent to Southern Warfare tonight in the Feast or Famine match. "They may have had a few losses, but Stone Cold had more than a few losses, and he's still one of the greatest champions this business has ever seen! They deserve a second chance, and I'll give it to them." Austin then announced that Jericho and Big Show, being the WWA World Tag Team Champions, were also subject to appear on the card, and "if you think the teams I debuted tonight were good, just wait until you see what else I got in store for ya!"
Before Austin could continue, he was interrupted by the new Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger made his way to the ring. "It's so great to be here on Southern Warfare with the Commissioner, Steve Austin. What an honor! ... Oh wait, you're on MY show, Northern Combat." The crowd let Swagger hear it. "Stone Cold, I am a two-time, two-time All-American American, and even more importantly, I am the only man to hold the WWA World and Heavyweight Championships on seperate occasions." Austin shrugged his shoulders. "You know, that's all fine and dandy, but Brock Lesnar just held them both AT THE SAME DAMN TIME, and I believe, he beat you for them." Jack Swagger got in the face of Austin, shouting "Brock Lesnar has never and will never pin me!" Austin told Swagger to kick his horse breath out of his face. After a bit more back-and-forth, Austin reminded Swagger, "I didn't come here to raise hell... but since you asked for it." Austin then hit Swagger with the Stunner, as he bounced in the air. The commissioner climbed up on the turnbuckles and received his trademark brews from Michael Buffer, spilling them all over himself, and then Swagger, before leaving to the back.

The new WWA Pound-for-Pound World Champion, Paul Burchill stood in the ring as we returned. He thanked everyone for the warm ovation, and then called out the Real Man's Man, saying it was time for him to make his decision. The RMM made his way to the ring with Lt. Commissioner Striker, and the former teacher grabbed a microphone. Striker said that Burchill came up with a great idea here, but it's too bad that it won't work out. Striker guarantees that tonight, the Man's Man will remain with WWA and earn himself a shot at Burchill and the World title. Burchlil says he shouldn't be too confident, because his opponents wants a shot, too, and, there ain't no stopping him. "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin makes his way to the ring to a pop and the match is underway!
HEAVYWEIGHT MATCH: Real Man's Man vs. Shelton BenjaminThe match started as one of the most technically-sound, exciting back-and-forth battles we have seen in a while, but something seemed strange even as the two men battled. Paul Burchill joined Joey and King at ringside, but about five minutes into the match, he was interrupted when William Regal (!) attacked him from behind! Regal, clad in a suit, leaped over the crowd barrier and started pummeling his former adversary, the World Champion, Burchill. Shelton was in control in the match, but he quickly became distracted as he realized that the man he was fighting in the ring was not who he thought it was. The Real Man's Man stood up and pulled off his mask, revealing Regal's countryman, Desmond Wolfe! Wolfe nailed Benjamin with boot to head, knocking him into the ropes. Wolfe lifts Benjamin up onto the turnbuckles and then drops him onto the mat with the Tower of London. Wolfe then pins Benjamin for the victory. Regal tosses Burchill into the ring, and Wolfe hits him with the Tower as well.
Winner via pinfall: Desmond Wolfe (Real Man's Man) - (7:08)
Regal grabs a microphone while Striker holds off the Grey Shirt security, who have come to haul Regal to the back. Regal asks for "just a minute" as he bends over Burchill, with Wolfe smiling behind him. "Paulie, sunshine, the Real Man's Man is, obviously, not... who you thought he was. But if you want a piece of me, I'm right here. You'll just have to get me my job back." Regal walks away, with the Grey Shirts grabbing hold of him. Wolfe walks behind him, with a smirk never leaving his face.
- commercial -
Backstage, the Grey Shirts are tossing William Regal out of the arena, as Matt Striker and Desmond Wolfe look on. Commisisoner Malenko arrives, telling Regal that he will never let the former Heavyweight Champion back into the company. As they slam the door behind Regal, Malenko turns his attention towards Wolfe. "You, Desmond, never earned a contract with Northern Combat. Your alter-ego may have, but after what you just did, I'm not giving you a title shot, and I'm going to make you EARN your contract here. Next week, you'll take on Shelton Benjamin again, this time with your contract on the line."
FEAST OR FAMINE MATCH: Chavo Guerrero, Jr. vs. John Cena vs. Ted DiBiase, Jr.
Chavo Guerrero, Jr. made his way to the ring first, the crowd giving him a lukewarm reaction. DiBiase makes his way to the ring next, being booed as Styles and King reminded fans of DiBiase's surprise turn last night, joining Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton in Legacy's beatdown of Lance Storm. "Basic Thuganomics" hits over the speakers and Cena makes his way to the ring, the fans on their feet. Like the match before it, the match began with the two heels teaming up on the face. And just like his Legacy teammate did in the first match, DiBiase broke the union with Chavo when Cena seemed effectively out of the match. DiBiase beat down Chavo, appearing to be near a victory after hitting him with Dream Street, but Cena broke up the fall at the last second. Chavo rolled from the ring, allowing Cena and DiBiase to go move-for-move for several minutes, with the fans popping all along. Finally, the two men went back-and-forth, countering high-impact moves, before DiBiase rolled off Cena's shoulders when the Attitude Adjusment was set up and then planted him to the mat with Dream Street. DiBiase went for a quick fall, but Chavo came out of nowhere with a Frog splash off the top rope to break it up. Chavo tossed DiBiase from the ring and pinned Cena to steal the win! Chavo left to the back celebrating, while DiBiase looked highly upset on the outside.
Winner via pinfall: Chavo Guerrero, Jr. (11:11)
Backstage, Maryse is talking with Lt. Commissioner Striker. "Is my special guest ready?" She points to the locker room behind him. "Oh, she's ready, I just don't know where this is going." He shakes his head. "Vous verrez," she says. "You'll see."
- commercial -
Maryse made her way to the ring with Jay Roclass, as it was finally her time to respond to CWE's Michelle McCool. After Roclass lifted her into the ring, Maryse grabbed a microphone. "Well, well, well... It seems that our reputation has grown, Jay, as Capital Wrestling Entertainment wants a piece of us. Les perdants obtiennent probablement la capitale parce qu'ils n'ont pas n'importe quel. Si pauvre, donc pauvre. I hear that little putain Michelle McCruel wants a piece of me. Alors évidemment jaloux. But since my man, Jay Roclass, has the night off, I figured there is no better time than the present, so, Venez lutter contre moi. s'il vous plait."
Michelle McCool's music hits over the speakers, but she is not the one to walk down the ramp, but rather, an overweight man in a mask. "McCool" climbs into the ring. Maryse steps behind Jay, and then slides out of the ring after saying, "Bienvenue, mon ami, mais avant de ce faire, Jay a quelque chose à dire." Roclass nails "McCool" with a huge boot to the head and then drops an elbow on him. King makes a joke about Roclass attacking a defenseless woman, and Joey tells him he is an idiot. Roclass beats down the masked man, hitting him with the STO before locking him in an armlock. Maryse climbs in the ring, screaming at the masked man in French. She tears off his mask, revealing none other than Eugene Dinsmore! Maryse spits in his face as he screams in pain. The fans jump to their feet as Matt Hardy stands to run down the ramp. Roclass torques Eugene's arm one last time before he and Maryse slide out of the ring. Hardy stands in the ring, staring down his future opponent before checking on Eugene, who is in tears as he holds his possibly-broken arm.

A video aired from early today, showing Santino Marella, sporting a headband and "bling," confronting his personal trainer, Beth Phoenix, about hugging Evan Bourne after the Cruiserweight Championship match at Wrestlympics. "Beth, as you can see, tonight, I am teaming with the Most Valuable Person against the Jeri-Chow, and I would appreciate it, if tonight, you do not make'a googly eyes at my opponent." Beth slaps him, saying "Santino, I am your personal trainer, but I am also Evan's friend. I have the right to hug whomever I want, make 'googly eyes' at whomever I want, and there's nothing you can say about it. But tonight, Evan's not even here, so I hope that you can stay focused, because you will need to be."
TAG TEAM MATCH: Jeri-Show vs. M.V.P. & Santino Marella w/Beth Phoenix
M.V.P. and Santino made their way to the ring together, with Santino trying to mimic MVP's taunts as they made their way down the ramp, with the fans laughing and cheering them all the way. Jeri-Show made their way out on the ramp, and Jericho tore down M.V.P., saying that while he was smart to find another opponent because "Cena would soon be in the unemployment line," he was "scraping the bottom of the barrel" with Santino. This caused Santino to charge Jericho, spearing him head-first, and the match was underway. As would be expected, Jeri-Show took control early over Santino, but eventually, he was able to make the hot tag to MVP. MVP came in and cleared Jericho from the ring, but eventually got in a back-and-forth battle with the mamoth Big Show. Show took control of the match for a few moments, but eventually it was MVP who made the hot tag to Santino, who took control, albeit momentarily. The match boiled over into an all-out war with every man in the ring battling at once. Just then, the former Welterweight champion, Christian (!) made his way to the ring, climbing up on the apron. He got in an argument with the referee, distracting him long enough for Edge (!) to hit the ring, and nail Big Show with a spear, sending him clear out of the ring! Edge stood up, shouting "You want some competition, we got your competition right here!" at Show. E&C left to the back as MVP was able to hit Jericho with the Playmaker for the pinfall victory.
Winners via pinfall: M.V.P. & Santino Marella - (12:54)
Backstage, Steve Austin enters Commissioner Malenko's office. He says that he is "pissed off" at Malenko, for letting Jay Roclass take out one of "his guys." Eugene was going to be a big part of The Debut on March 7, and now, he might just have a broken arm. "I want revenge. No, I ain't going to ruin your show. I'm gonna make it better. I propose to you that next week, Jay Roclass steps into the ring against another one of my guys -- The Undertaker." Malenko agrees, and the match is set for next week -- Undertaker vs. Roclass!
- commercial -
Backstage, the four Feast or Famine losers stood in Commissioner Malenko's dressing room as he spun a Bingo game with four balls inside, saying that it was now time to decide the fate of the four men standing before him. "Stone Cold" is on-hand as well, waiting to see his newest roster member. He says that since Rhodes has the best record of them all, he can pick first or last. Rhodes says he will take last, hoping for the best. Malenko then announces the order of drawing: Cena, Haas, DiBiase, Rhodes. One of them will return to the roster, one will join Southern Warfare, one will become a WWA referee, and the last will be fired. One-by-one, they decided their fates:
Malenko has the Grey Shirts escort Rhodes out of the building, while Austin and Cena leave the room together. Rhodes throws a temper tantrum, while DiBiase tries to stop them from taking his new partner away. Meanwhile, Lt. Commissioner Striker appears with a referee shirt, telling Haas that his debut would be happening right now!
MAIN EVENT | HEAVYWEIGHT MATCH: Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring first, receiving a strong reaction of mainly boos, followed shortly thereafter by the former champion, "The Real Deal" Brock Lesnar. Lesnar makes his way to the ring and the crowd pops huge. The two men stare each other down, and start to lock up, with Lesnar throwing Orton down. The two men each get a few shots in in the opening minutes, but the match barely gets underway when none other than "HBK" Shawn Michaels hops the crowd barrier and attacks Lesnar from behind, causing a DQ. While HBK pounds away at the face of Lesnar, Orton slithers out of the ring, walking to the back, happy to be in one piece. HBK grabs a microphone, telling Lesnar "Dean-o, it looks like you spread your security a little too thin. I want a shot at Brock, and I want an answer NEXT WEEK." HBK slides out of the ring as the Greys make their way down the ramp. HBK leaps over the crowd barrier and escapes through the fans.
Winner via DQ: Brock Lesnar - (4:57)
Backstage, Randy Orton meets up with Dean Malenko in the hallway. Malenko sticks a finger in his face, "Did you have something to do with this?" Orton pulls Malenko's hand out of the way, "First of all, get your hand out of my face. Secondly, he said himself, you had your boys hauling Cody out of here, maybe you should have thought twice before you took them off their outpost. Third, NOBODY gets a title shot before I do. Not Regal, not Wolfe, not Lesnar. Nobody. And to make sure that happens, I want Burchill next week." Malenko continues to look Orton in the eyes. "Okay, but I know how this works. DiBiase gets involved. Wolfe gets involved. No. You will take on Paul Burchill next week, and it'll be inside a steel cage." Orton glares at Malenko as he walks away, and the show fades to a close.

Jack Swagger got in the face of Austin, shouting "Brock Lesnar has never and will never pin me!" Austin told Swagger to kick his horse breath out of his face.

Roclass!

Jon Cena - drafted to Southern Warfare
Ted DiBiase - returns to the roster
Charlie Haas - becomes WWA's newest referee
Cody Rhodes - fired!
Ted DiBiase - returns to the roster
Charlie Haas - becomes WWA's newest referee
Cody Rhodes - fired!
