I had recieved some bad news today.... Our fraternity is voting for positions on sunday at 7 lol. and since I'm running for a top position i gotta be there. Unless I get the meeting moved to earlier in the day, I'm gonna have to DVR Mania That really sucks. I remember taping WM XX and watching it the next day and it just wasn't the same. Too bad. Also, the card is great! With the exception of Kofi being added to MITB, I don't see any more matches being announced. I like that idea, since the card would be too much. I really hope the tag Title match doesn't get pushed off the show like last year. That really sucked.

I'm trying so hard to get my boss to switch my evening shift, to the morning shift.
If he doesn't I'm calling in sick, Either way I'm watching 'Mania live, and I hope everyone else gets a chance to as well. Going to be an EPIC 'Mania.

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
WWE is reportedly being very strict with their talent in Phoenix during WrestleMania 26 week. They want talent to be kept as busy as possible and don't want people wandering off to ROH or Dragon Gate USA events. Talent have been told specifically to not attend these events. They were also informed to expect TMZ cameras everywhere.

This could be the best WrestleMania I've ever watched apart from 17 (I've seen from 17 onwards). Last year's was a bit of a disappointment, 24 was really good (but I am still way more excited about this one), 23 really let me down, and 22, 21, 20 and 19 were all very impressive in my view (in their own different way). 18 was a bit eh.
I doubt this can beat WrestleMania 17, but seriously, the card is the most stacked it's ever been. Even 17 had some filler (the 6-man tag team match, Chyna vs. Ivory). This year there isn't even a divas match yet!

I doubt this can beat WrestleMania 17, but seriously, the card is the most stacked it's ever been. Even 17 had some filler (the 6-man tag team match, Chyna vs. Ivory). This year there isn't even a divas match yet! Since I'm bored and nostalgic, here's how I'd rate all the WMs since I started watching. (I've watched every WM from 7 onward, but I don't think it's the same experience watching a show that's years old.) WM14 - My introduction to WM. Honestly, while I knew the show was a big deal, I just wasn't a full time fan quite yet. I watched sporadic Raws and Livewire was my main source for WWF programming. This show lacks the "big time" feel of most WMs, though it's a big step up from WM13. WM15 - By this time, I was well aware of just how huge WM was. At the time, this show was a great, exciting, rewatchable show. Now, it's far from a historic or memorable show overall, but I'd bet it's still a pretty entertaining three hours and a great example of how WWE can pull off some great single-show storytelling (Survivor Series '98 is another prime example of this). WM16 - Even at the time, this was a bit of a WTF show. I didn't realize it at first but it was the lack of any regular singles matches that gives the show it's awkward feel. Aside from last year's this is probably my least watched WM from the ones on this list. WM17 - God, I just don't think this one will ever be topped. It has one key ingredient that I doubt any future WM will ever have: Stone Cold in the main event. I'm a huge Stone Cold mark, so that fact alone will always put it above any other WM. To me, this is the grand finale of the Attitude Era. WM18 - A great card on paper, but poor hype (aside from Rock/Hogan and Flair/'Taker) and awkward booking made this a pretty mediocre event. Especially when you consider the WMs that came just before and after it. I fear that if they aren't careful with the booking, WM26 could wind up as awkward as this one. WM19 - My third favorite WM. A terrific card. I hope this year's event is booked more like this than like WM18. WM20 - Like WM15, it was a big deal at the time, but now it's very evident that there's far too much filler on this show. And for a five hour PPV, it only has a couple of quality, memorable matches. WM21 - This is a show that is much more of an entertainment experience than a great wrestling card. For example, two of the night's biggest highlights came from in ring segments: Hogan saving Eugene and Piper's Pit. It also had my favorite MITB match and a pretty good match between Undertaker and Randy Orton. It's a shame neither main event delivered otherwise this show would be much higher on my list. WM22 - Man, did they get lucky here. Somehow they managed to pull an entertaining show out of their asses. Given the state of the company at the time and the participants on the show, it really had no business being as enjoyable as it was. But everyone involved stepped up their game and put together a great show. Although, for the second year in a row, the main event was pretty disappointing. And that just shouldn't happen at WM, IMO. WM23 - This show divides a lot of fans. A lot of people love it (though I suspect most of those people either A.) attended the show or B.) this was their first Wrestlemania) and a lot of people dislike it. I'm in the latter group. I don't hate this show, but until WM25 came along it was always my go-to example of a disappointing WM. I still think Edge/Orton deserved better than MITB, whether it be in the main event as a Fatal Four Way (which is what I was hoping for) or a singles match. Also, there's large gaps of unfulfilling, forgettable matches. It's a three match show, really: MITB, Batista/'Taker, and Cena/HBK. I don't even remember anything from the Battle of the Billionaires. WM24 - My second favorite WM. For years, Undertaker/Edge was my biggest WM dream match (aside from Austin/Hogan but when was that ever likely?) and I still can't believe they got to main event. Mind blowing. And HBK/Flair is the single most emotional match I've ever seen, although I expect HBK/Taker to be even more emotional for me since I've actually been fans of both of them for a while now. I was never much of a Flair fan. But my heart sinks everytime I watch that match and see HBK say, "I'm sorry. I love you," just before Sweet Chin Music. MITB was also awesome this year. WM25 - Ugh. I've bashed this show enough times over the past 12 months, so I'll keep this basic. It's a two match show, IMO: MITB and HBK/'Taker. Thank God those two are getting a rematch this year so I never have a reason to watch this show again.

If I was just a casual wrestling fan and somehow stumbled across the match card for Mania I would so mark for it, I would get myself pumped up and ready for a night to remember, I would rearrange the living room and invite the friends around but seeing that I'm not a casual fan and I have been watching Raw and Smackdown every week I just feel that the intensity just isn't there like past years leading up to Wrestlemania, such as last year between Orton and Triple H, HBK and Taker, and not to forget the emotional trip we had with Flair and Michaels.
Anyway my moan aside this will be a great wrestlemania only our imaginations will carry us for those last 6 days.

Barrett, that was a pretty cool breakdown of the WrestleMania shows you watched live. To keep some kind of discussion going, here's my breakdown of the 10 WrestleMania shows I've seen:
WrestleMania 17 - What an amazing show this was, it had the big-time, everyone across the world is watching kind of feel to it, and a near perfect card. McMahon vs. McMahon in a street fight, TLC II, a very entertaining Hardcore title match, Triple H vs. Undertaker and of course Austin vs. Rock made this a true spectacle. The rest of the card apart from the Women's title match was good too. Perhaps an unbeatable WrestleMania.
WrestleMania 18 - Although some matches on the card looked huge on paper (and Hogan vs. Rock was huge in reality), this WrestleMania was a bit disappointing. WWE was in a rebuilding period that was quite bland overall from after the Invasion up until the draft... A forgettable show in my view.
WrestleMania 19 - Great, stacked card, with Austin vs. Rock (for the last time), Michaels vs. Jericho, Hogan vs. Mr. McMahon, Lesnar vs. Angle etc etc. Shame one of the tag team title matches was bumped to Heat so a cat-fight could take it's place, but there isn't much to complain about here.
WrestleMania 20 - Plenty of big-time matches, although one (Lesnar vs. Goldberg) didn't quite deliver. A bit too much filler here as well with two very short tag team title matches, a even shorter Women's title match and an Evening Gown match, along with another rushed match in the Cruiserweight Open. But the main event, Evolution vs. Rock n' Sock and some other matches more than made up for it.
WrestleMania 21 - This show saw two new main event stars truly created in Cena and Batista, the first ever Money in the Bank ladder match (and perhaps the best one of all), and of course Orton vs. Undertaker and Angle vs. Michaels which were both awesome contests. Appearances from Hogan, Piper and Austin rounded off a great pay-per-view.
WrestleMania 22 - I thought this card actually looked good on paper, and it was even better than I expected. I really enjoyed Michaels destroying Mr. McMahon, the Hardcore match, the Money in the Bank ladder match (nearly as much as the first), and the two world title matches were good too in my view. With Saturday Night's Main Event the weekend before, the post-show etc I felt it had enough build, hype and reflection as well. Also, a good Women's title match... shame about Boogeyman and Booker T ruining the flow.
WrestleMania 23 - My least favorite 'Mania by a long shot... a lot of great, main event worthy stars (as opposed to not-quite-there-yet stars) were thrown into Money in the Bank, Kane vs. Khali bombed as expected, a poor, poor divas match and an inevitably lame Battle of the Billionaires let this show down greatly. The two world title match just about made it worth watching.
WrestleMania 24 - Wow, what a great way to rebound after the less than stellar WrestleMania 23. This show had a great Money in the Bank ladder match, the emotional Flair vs. Michaels match, a slightly unique encounter between Big Show and Mayweather, and overall just a great card (including the WWE/ World title matches). The only let down was the pointless divas match involving Snoop Dogg (humorously, the power went out at this point). Still a very big-time feel again.
WrestleMania 25 - Lacking in WrestleMania feel again. This show didn't live up to expectations. Although Michaels vs. Undertaker rocked, Matt vs. Jeff was underrated in my view and Triple H vs. Orton gets more stick than I feel it deserves, there was still plenty of down points. I felt that Jericho plowing through three Legends was a bit pointless, Rey vs. JBL was a waste, and the Divas Battle Royal (including Santina Marella and a s*** Kid Rock performance) let the show down. The Triple Threat was also nothing special.
WrestleMania 26 - Is sure to rock. It's hopefully gonna be the rebound from WrestleMania 25, just like 24 was the rebound of 23.

Alright, it's time for me to eat some of my words. Not all of them, but definitely some. For the first time since WM25 aired, I sat down and rewatched both main events. The Triple Threat was about what I remembered it being. My opinion doesn't change there. However, I've been pretty damn harsh on the Orton/Triple H match over the year and I no longer think it was entirely warranted. It is not a terrible match. Granted, it's far from a great match, but it is nowhere near as bad as I've made it out to be in the past. For any other PPV, I think it would actually be a pretty serviceable main event. For a Wrestlemania main event, though, it lacks one crucial quality: excitement. I still think the #1 flaw here is the damn last minute stipulation allowing the title to change hands on a DQ or countout. No one ever wanted to see these two try to put on a clinic. Everyone wanted to see Triple H destroy Orton. The ending is pretty weak. I think they should have reworked the spot where Triple H punted Orton and ended it on that note, rather than have it be a weak blink-and-you'll-miss-it spot five minutes before the match is over. The rest of those five minutes involve Triple H just pummeling Orton. And the sledgehammer to finish it off, in this scenario with these stipulations, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It seems like Triple H had to cheat to beat Orton when we all know he's beaten him clean numerous times in the past. Despite these flaws, the match actually did hold my attention pretty well which surprised me. I fully expected it to be a chore to watch. While it may not be the most rewatchable WM main event, I think I'd actually put it above Cena/Triple H from WM22 and either championship match from WM21.

I predict interference in the Shawn vs. Taker match, but IDK from who. I see Triple H interfering for some reason even though its unlikley.

I'm heading home for the weekend to DJ a dance, and I had originally planned on coming back late so I could watch 'Mania in peace at home, but after seeing the card, one of my room mates decided he really wanted to see it.
It's nice to have someone to foot some of the bill, but it should be interesting. He hasn't watched wrestling in years, but he's got a general interest, particularly guys like CM Punk and The Miz. Should be an interesting night, glad I'm going to get to see it in HD.

Also--I tend to get into a little more if there are other people around. Some people are annoying to watch with, though.
