If customers were so dissatisfied with their product do you really think they'd have a 90% market share? Windows Vista. Let's talk about that? What about it? If Vista was so terrible then why do people like 7 so much? It's Vista at its core.

I never get the Vista hate, had it since it came out and never once had a problem.

It got a lot more flak than it actually deserved, especially when most of the flaws in Vista were as much the fault of other companies as it was Microsoft's.

If it's great for you guys and you enjoyed prolonged start-up's with a blank black screen and linear searches of your hard drive then that's you. But don't act like people weren't happy with Windows Vista... lol, come on, your bias betrays you. There were far to many complaints and issues. Like the error message upon start up that rendered computers useless after an update. My sister is suffering from a 900 dollar brick on her desk right now because she updated her computer and was stuck on a black screen so she shut it off. She did the wrong thing, obviously. But Microsoft's product was also functioning poorly from an ergonomic standpoint. Hey, what about the fact that Windows Vista was proven to make machines run slower that had the same hardware specs as computers on XP or Mac OS? ![???](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/huh.gif) It's all poor allocation of resources and sloppy, bloated coding. You saying they have 90% of the market share is common knowledge and just side-stepping the fact that it had serious issues and most notably POOR CODING. It's like saying Russia took up 1/6 of the Earth in the early 1900's so that should negate all the problems that "company" had. If you guys like it, then like it. But drop the crap when people tell you they didn't like it, a lot of people hated it for good reasons. Mine was that Window Vista is a fat, bloated pig that didn't run software as efficiently as Windows XP.

If you want to argue that Vista is crap, fine. I'll buy that argument. I even agree with it. That being said, it wasn't crappy enough that people ran away from Microsoft in droves. Microsoft still has a 90% market share. There is no OS on the planet that is even remotely close. Consumers are not desperately looking for a Windows alternative. If you think they are, you are sadly mistaken.

You keep quoting the market share... Mac's not trying to compete with that. They close off 90% of the market share by choice by not allowing their OS to even run on any other machine but the machines they build.
Mac's pretty much saying come buy a 1200 dollar computer or don't use our OS. Window is saying build your 300 dollar box and let's go. So the market share quote really doesn't do much for your argument.
Windows is competing against nothing. But they have their inexcusable issues.
Mac OS still runs more stable, gets more efficient use out of the processor and hardware configuration and doesn't crash nearly as often. Do I like that Mac is pretty much closed off to anything but their own store? No. Do I think Mac is perfect? No. Mac is too expensive and hasn't even figured out how to properly add an entry level machine at a reasonable price for new users. Mac also doesn't support even 1% as many chips and configurations, obviously. Windows supports nearly anything, but also runs poorly on a lot of configurations.
The only reason there is no other OS on the planet that is even remotely close is because they're bigger... but it still has more than enough problems that are preventing it from having ohhhh say, 97% of the market share.
If Mac had an entry level product with a low price and opened their compatibility to any machine (just buy the OS and run it on anything), let's face it... Windows would have more competition because it would actually exist.
The fact that there is no OS even remotely close to Windows and they only own 90% of the market share is a discredit, in my view.

He keeps quoting market share because you were talking about Microsoft needing to get back on top. When you are on 90% of computers on the planet, it's pretty safe to say you're on top.

Sorry to double post, and Mole, I'm only quoting you because you're the latest person to speak on the argument/debate. I'm a Mac person, and that's it. I don't hate Microsoft computers. I used them for years. I am happy with my Mac, just like other people are happy using what they use. What is the point of arguing? I really don't understand the logic of, "I like this." "Well I like THIS!"" ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) you, like mine instead." Can't you guys just enjoy your own thing and let it be?
