Great stuff from everybody. Sorry to see that Sandy didn't turn something in.
I am confused though on round 2. If the winners advance, but the event is open to everybody, what is the point of round 1? Shouldn't be a battle royal between the 4 winners? I'm cool either way, just thought that was odd.

Gonzo- I think it is the advancing people's matches, in addition to a battle royal.

the battle royal and the tourney are completely separate entities, just occuring on the same show

So is like anybody gonna comment or vote? Man this thread is really dead. If anything I would like to give my opinion.
Battle of the Candidos:
I am really super impressed with Gusters. The skintone and torso modification is very impressive. I am not really feeling the head choice. I am going to take a wild guess and say you used a Kennedy head? For some reason when I see this figure I see him instead of Candido. The trunks look rather chunky. I don't blame you, red is a horrible color to paint. There are hints of sock sculpting and that is a plus!
Axe: Incredible! Like I always say about your work. The resemblance of yours is almost dead on! This is how I actually remember Candido's WWF run. With the singlet. The head is a terrific choice. Painting all around is smooth and the skintone is amazing! The only flaw I really see if the elbow pad...did he really wear that one during that run? I don't really remember.. Either way a terrific match going on here. My vote goes to Axe not because he's my buddy or because I am biased but I truly feel he nailed the over resemblance and the painting is smoother.
Battle of the Austin's Titan, your newer version of Austin is a lot better body wise than your previous version in the jeans. Ultra smooth painting all around, but the major killer for me is the headscan. I am pretty sure it's a Honky Tonk Man but I could be wrong. I just don't really see the resemblance. Plus his hair is a bit dark. Would have been perfect if his hair was beach-blond! Your last ECW Austin's head look a lot better in my opinion because you used an actual Austin head. Head modifications look great..just the face is the only flaw I see.
Gonzo, Great effort man. The whole DA/RA hybrid thing is pretty cool. Great choice of parts. The elbow pad choice works as well. Can't really recall the many times he actually wrestling in ECW but this looks works great for a "Ring Master" Austin. I can almost guarantee that this is from his Triple Threat match though.. Nice attention to detail by adding the little star to his boots. The head choice aint actually too bad at all. What really brings it down for me and please forgive me is his hair... it just looks like a bad buzz cut.. :/ I am pretty sure it is difficult to paint an actual "stubble" look. Other than that, a great effort man. It was a real tough choice..with both men only having one flaw in my eyes.. but I'm gonna have to go with Titan. I remember ECW Austin for his promos and long hair. Rarely his matches.
Battle of the Eddy's I am really upset that Sandy did not turn in. I am a big fan of his work and was really looking forward to seeing his next piece. Jay, great innovative Mattel custom. I have always loved Eddie's old school heel look. You did a great job to represent his LWO days. I hand tape sculpting and hair. The tights look amazing! My only complaint and it's really not your fault is the size of the head. Looks pretty big. A vote for you.
Battles of the PS Hayes'
I am almost at awe with Gate's entry. This is beyond perfection! I knew right away Gate was gonna come at me with one of his innovative head modifications and I am still trying to figure out if he used and HBK or Mike Knox..or none of those two! Without a doubt the chest hair is amazing! That is something I truly want to learn to do. His eye for detail is just out of this world. Truly an honor to compete against the best. We all know what the result of this match is!
Not sure if my votes count but I just thought I'd give my opinion. Seems like no one else is..

Candido: For this match, I think head choice should have been the most important part of the custom. The Bodydonna ring wear was plain and relatively simple to recreate, so that is where the match could have been won or lost. That being said, I don't think either head looks like Candido. I actually see more Tom Pritchard in Guster's head than I do Candido, and with some mods, the other head could work for a Disco Inferno.
Both customs nailed the colors. I'm not sure if there had to be a mix involved or if you guys found the right paint off the shelf, but either way you go they were great choices.
So it leaves me to base my decision on the smallest of details. The attire picked by TAH is probably the one I remember best and was, to me at least, the tougher of the two to paint. The straps on the singlet, two tone triangle, and the blue color for the entire piece.
Winner: TheAxeHenning
Austin:
This was the hardest stip on the show. He was there long enough to cut a few promos and little else. Not really much to go on in the way of reference material.
Titan: this is a good choice. A nice figure, but it does have some flaws. The lines on the bottom of the shorts are a bit uneven. I would venture to say that they are not really noticable in person, but the angle of the pictures picks it up a lot. I would also liked to have seen hair shaved a bit more on the sides so the bandana would look more natural.
Gonzo: I would have liked to have seen you so something different than his all black. I can't really hold it against you because there isn't much to choose from, but it is disappointing because this custom could be ECW Austin or WWF Austin. It doesn't seperate the two. The lines are crisp and the skin tone is nice. I'm not feeling the stubble hair. Not sure what it is I don't care for, but there is something going on that is off.
With fewer flaws, my vote goes to Gonzo
Hayes:
I wish I didn't have to drop out of this one. I loved the Freebirds. I had used a Hasbro Jannetty and had finished sculpting. I might finish it sometime, but real life gave me a few nut shots since the beginnig of February. The ring gear wasn't flashy, but the promo and interview clothing was. You both chose to do ring wear, so basically it comes down to nailing the chest hair. Gate's chest hair is perfect.
My vote: Gate

Excellent job to all entrants. I am astonished with the turnout, and moreover, with the quality of the entries. Titan, you constructed a fantastic card, with heterogeneous “skill-leveled” participants, and I applaud that. I was not thrilled initially with the stipulations, but it is nice to see something new. Now, onto the card; Chris “Skip” Candido: Guster- I am a fan of your work. You show proficiency in painting, logo design (as seen with the Brock), and your macro photo style (which adds a great deal of professionalism to any photo). You came with suitable accessories, and I applaud that. The tights are from his tag team period (with Zip). I like the attire, and the fact that we chose two diverse periods for our entries. I am not a fan of the head modifications though. His head is Kennedy, and you disguised that well. My major problem is with the hair sculpting and space between the upper lip and nose. First, his hair seems to be separated from his scalp a great deal on the top. The area you removed the Kennedy hair is still evident in places. The upper lip and nose have a significant gap. It reminds me of a Simpsons character more than Candido. You did a fantastic job, nonetheless, and I wish you the best of luck. Mine-I struggled with a head for Candido. He is a figure that is rarely made by customizers. I’ve only seen Brian “Grandmaster Sexay” Christopher used, and to me, that is a bit too apparent. I used “Spirit Squad” Mikey. He has an enormous Jay Leno chin, which required a great deal of sanding. In addition, Candido’s most notable facial features are his dark eyes and eyebrows (as can be seen below). I think we both did well, and will leave the judging of this match to someone else. Steve Austin (ECW-era):Titan- I think this is the most memorable “look” Austin displayed during his brief ECW stint. I l ike that you actually used an Austin (Hollywood Blonds) head. I think the bandanna looks a bit big, otherwise, this is a fantastic figure. Gonzo-Creating a RA/DA hybrid is innovative. You used the existing “Blonds” lower half (including boots), which works. In addition, the skin tone is nice. My only problem is the “leftover” beard that is still evident, and he has no lips or teeth (we know Austin is a hick). Winner- Titan. This was difficult, as both were great, but to me, the attire Titan chose exemplifies Austin’s ECW time. Similarly, Gonzo’s would be a great “Ringmaster, which occurred months later. Check the photos below. Both are from Austin’s brief ECW stint in 1995. Michael “Purely Sexy” Hayes (WCCW era):Warheart- Fantastic figure! This was a difficult stipulation, as Hayes only wore short tights with “Fabulous Freebirds” in cursive across the back. With the difficulty of the stipulation, you executed very well. I like that you used the proper torso, and did not include wristbands. I also like that you opened the hands up, and used dullcoat on the figure. Gatecitysinner: Great figure. From the eyes up, it is Michael Hayes, and the true mystery is below the eyes. You rescuplted the lower portion of the hair and beard, and you also toned down the blond in his hair. I like the sculpted kneepad also. The true work of art is the chesthair. P.S. was a hairy man, and you captured the chesthair extremely well. Winner- Gatecitysinner. This was difficult, as Warheart held his own in this match. He truly has established himself. The defining characteristics that made my decision were the altered “smiling” scan, and the chest hair. Phenomenal job, gentlemen. Eddie Guerrero (WCW): Jay- Great figure. I can’t tell if it is a Mattel or Toybiz figure. I like the small details, such as the wrist tape and painted shirt. In addition, you used an appropriate scan for this era. I love that you did not use a Jakks figure, which shows ingenuity. Winner- Jay (haha).

I'm not sure if my vote counts but here is who I vote for. I won't leave any long comments because I am in no position to criticize anyones work. I've made customs for years but will never reach the skill level some of you guys have. Just amazing really.
For the battle of the Chris Candidos I have to pick AxeHennig's work. The painting is smooth and crisp. Also, Guster's head seems a little strange to me. I guess what it comes down to is when I looked at the figures I didn't read who they were. I could tell who Axe's figure was right away (Candido). I didn't know who Guster's figure was.
For the battle of the ECW Austin's I choose Titantrap's entry. They are both great figures but I think Titantrap's is more original.
For the battle of Michael Hayes I will go with Gatecitysinner's entry. Again, they are both great figures but I think the chest hair and overall painting looks better. Sorry Warheart, you know your work continues to blow me away as well.

I apologize for no-showing. This is the first time I have ever REALLY no-showed. At least with my match against Guster I still turned in the Vampiro a week after the due date. I won't be able to do that this time around.
I'm kind of pissed off I no-showed. I really wanted to turn in and make something somewhat decent against Jay's fantastic custom.
I was pretty much forced to move unexpectedly so I have been busy sorting out everything in my life.
I'm not done with customizing though. I hope to be back in the summer time.
everyone did an amazing job.

Check the photos below. Both are from Austin’s brief ECW stint in 1995. Recipe TTL Head bored out the neck and glued on Torso/Arms DA Kendrick Legs - Matt Striker RA Jakks knee pads Mattel elbow pad. Teeth are painted, though I guess my flash hid that, did not do lip coloring, most of the boots, and did paint the stars, entire skintone and tights. Attire is from the three way match as in the picture you posted. Ringmaster would have green tights and thicker hair. Honestly put this figure together in roughly an hour as I didn't have the time to put any real effort into it. It'll be turned into a WCW Stunning Steve, haven't decided if it'll be short hair or long hair.

Nice job Gonzo- The black tights work for "Ringmaster" Steve Austin. His hair was nearly bald at this time, and there was really nothing that differentiated this period with his "Stonecold" time, which followed. Austin is such a plain character! I wish your stipulation was "Stunning" Steve Austin (pre-Blonds).

First off let me start by saying Congrats to all who competed. After just a quick overall glance, everything looks superb...my voting went as follows.
Battle of WWF era Chris Candido Guster v. TheAxeHennig
Guster: The torso is smoothed over cleanly and is a perfect representation of his body style. Your painted belt & towel really add dimension to the figure as well. Your attire & boots are painted beautifully. Crisp & clean. The part that loses me is the scan. The upper half (hair, forehead, eyes) is excellent but something about the way you modded the mouth is just off to me. When I look at the total picture I have trouble being able to tell its actually Candido.
TheAxeHennig: Excellent choice of attire. The painting is perfect. Its exactly how I remember "Skip." Boots are painted great as well. I like the way your skintone looks too. Again, the headscan is perfect from the eyes up but somethig about his mouth is off to me.
Verdict: My vote goes to AxeHennig on this one. While Guster's attire is great & his torso is perfect. I just can't get past the scan. I choose AxeHennig because, to me, it looks more like Candido overall.
Battle of ECW Steve Austin: Titantrap v. Gonzo
Titantrap: Awesome. The scan is modded perfectly. The bandana looks clean. I like the extra detail you put on the sneakers. This really reminds me of the ECW Steve Austin. Its definitley how I picture Austin from those days.
Gonzo: His head kind of reminds me of "Ringmaster" era. I'm not a fan of the DA torso on an RA body however you did the transition smoothly. I really like the elbow pad except for the fact its so wide near the wrist.
Verdict: In the end I had to go with Titantrap. His, to me, really represented the way I pictured ECW Steve Austin.
Battle of WCCW Micheal Hayes: Warheart v. Gatecitysinner
Warheart: Nice that you used his Jakks scan. I always thought that was good. Torso choice is spot on. The chest hair to me just doesn't look right. It has that smeared look as opposed to a hairy look. I like how you added the extra detail to his kneepads.
Gatecitysinner: That head is truly amazing. It's actually a better representation of Hayes than the regular Jakks one. Your chest hair paintjob is damn near perfect. I think if you had used the Flair torso like Warheart it would have been 100% perfect. I really like the modded right knee. Adds that extra detail. The writing on the back of his trunks is perfectly done as well.
Verdict: This, to me, was the toughest choice. I have to give my vote to Gatecity though. The chest/torso area really puts the figure over the top, plus the excellent head. A very close battle.
Battle of WCW Eddie Guererro:
Jay I actually had to really look twice to notice that that was a Mattel figure. WOW. A very cool custom indeed. I cant see any flaws to be honest. Awesome job all around.
A big props to all involved. Excellent work all around.

Guster vs TheAxeHenning's
guster great job on the torso mod and paint.everthing looks great but the head im not digging the head.also the triangle on the tights does not look centered
axehennings-paint job looks great head works but it still looks a little to small for candio.close race but my VOTE GOES TO THEAXEHENNING
Titantrap vs Gonzo smooth paint job with nice clean lines.only thing i dislike is the skintone is a little to pinkish.(on a side note great job on the trophy just add another coat of gold)
gonzo-nice simple figure my only grip is paint looks chunky around the mouth.nice job to both but im giving the nod to TITAN
Gatecitysinner vs Warheart
gate all i can say is wow this figure just pops out at you.you nailed the chest hair and paint looks life like.great job
Warheart-figure looks clean but just to plain my vote gate
