Ok so after reading Stoms post about the Bulldog competition and him asking if it came in a bag it was like I had a flash back that could and I use the term could very loosely explain the bagged hasbro spree on ebay. In the early 90's in the UK we had a show called the DJ Kat show it was some douche bag cat puppet would host this show that had stuff like X Men and Sharky & George on it. Anyway there was a comp to win wrestling figures I think there was like a couple of hundred up for grabs, well I won and got a Sgt Slaughter (you had no choice you just got who you were given) and the figure did come in a plastic bag. Now I can not remember if it had any writing on it but I can 100000 percent remember it came in a bag I can not confirm if every one came like this but mine did.
Now I still think the dude selling all the sealed figs is probably just sealing them just thought this would open up a possibility for folks. There must be some other UKers who remember this comp on the DJ Kat show. I know some people will doubt the truth in this and to be honest I can kind of understand why you would but I don't care I know what I got and theres bound to be at least one other person who did as well.

That is a good thought, but the problem is that those figures were won by kids well about 15 years ago. Kids play with figures, and I'm sure those bags were ripped open the instant the kids got them in 99 percent of the cases. Also, there weren't a lot of collector minded kids back in those days.
The fact is, there were a whole lot of contests and giveaways for Hasbro figures back then. A lot of the figures were bagged, not carded. But it is so easy to seal a figure in a bag, and the Hasbros that were released that way are very common loose, that unless the figure was drastically different than the carded release (which is the case only with the WWF magazine exclusives, as I recall), there's no reason to pay a premuium for a plastic baggy.
It just seems to me that the recent rash of bagged Hasbros is the brainstorm of a person or people who see it as a way to make a little money off of common figures that wouldn't get more than 10 dollars US in a lot together otherwise.

Yeah I full agree mate the run of bagged hasbros is most probably a scam. I was just curious if any one else won of this crappy show lol.
