Hello, I was watching an old UFC DVD the other day & thought I'd review it.
Possibly could start something off here as a lot of UFC fans here might want to review DVD's of events they enjoyed, or hated & help out some of the guys who are newer to the sport.
UFC Hits Vol.2
Basically it's the most exciting/ important fights from UFC 17-23
In order
-Tank vs. Hugo Duarte. Possibly Tank's most impressive performance. COMPLETE
-Coleman vs. Pete Williams. Stunning upset Finish. OVERTIME ONLY.
Vitor Belfort vs. Wandy. Damn!!! COMPLETE
-Tank vs. Pedro Rizzo. Good Fight. COMPLETE
-Tito vs. Jerry Bohlander. LAST FEW MINUTES
-Bas Rutten vs. TK. Great Ending. LAST FEW MINUTES
-Tito vs. Guy Mezger 2. Here & vs. Jerry you see Tito become a star, different fighter from the Tito who Guy tapped in their first fight. LAST FEW MINUTES
-Pedro Rizzo vs. Tra Telligman. Great brawl. COMPLETE
-Eugene Jackson vs. Royce Alger. COMPLETE
-Brad Kohler vs. Steve Judson. Sick KO!!! COMPLETE
Frank vs. Tito. Great fight, criminally missed off the UFC recent top 100 fights DVD. COMPLETE
-Eugene Jackson vs. Kei Yamamiya. Not really sure why either of Eugene's fights are here beyond decent finishes. COMPLETE
-TK vs. Pedro Rizzo. Good Fight. COMPLETE
Extras- Bas Rutten Int.
Notes.
-Was released by SEG Sports, the owners before Zuffa & so discontinued now but can be picked up very cheap on ebay/ Amazon etc.
-2 Hours long
-Bizarrely the threee fights pictured on the back of the sleeve (Frank/ Lober 2, Braga/ Horn & Wandy/ Petarra) aren't shown even in highlites form on the DVD!
-There are some missing fights from this era that could have been included but obviously with only 2 hours only so much could be shown. No mention of Frank/ Horn, great fight & still not available on DVD, Bas/ Randleman, Frank/ Lober 2 & no mention of the LW division despite Miletich wining & defending the belt in this time frame although both weren't great fights.
-This is a Region 1 DVD, so if like me you live outside the US you'll need a multiregion DVD to watch.
If you're new to the sport & want to see some older fights or been following UFC for years & just want to relive some memoreies this is a great DVD.
Some exciting fights make this a must watch for any UFC fan specially with the complete Frank/ Tito fight being on here.
However despite that being for me the biggest attraction of the DVD there is no mention of this fight whatsoever on the DVD sleeve.
As the UFC wasn't great during this era this is a great way to get a review of that time, a couple of questionable fight selections aside (Yes Eugene I mean you) this a quality recap DVD.
