I thought it was a stupid decision to leave Guida off of the main card, that Kongo/Buentello fight was horrible and Buentello's probably going to get cut very soon. Jones' elbows were nasty, Vera's face was broken in three places, and Vera can't even board a plane due to the injuries. Definitely a huge fan of him now, not just because he's a fellow Western New Yorker. I agree with you there, it was if Kongo had no other gameplan and Buentello was trying to count down the minutes... For mine, I was glad that Dos Santos got the win, even if I thought Gonzaga might take him to at least the second or third round... Jones' elbows were nasty, and couldn't believe Vera's illegal kick not once but twice...he can't board a place due to injuries? Wow. Jones could very well be the future... |

The night's card was just plagued with fighters who just simply forgot the rules.

Herb Dean stopped the fight because Buentello dislocated his finger, only to restart the fight after they put it back in.
Thats a TKO if he cant continue.
The ref's werent overly bad, just a couple times calls were iffy. Like Jones shouldnt have been to start in Vera's guard after a point has been taken away, it should have restarted.

Herb initially stopped it because he thought his finger got caught in the glove. When the doctor intervened, it was in his hands. The finger was never healed.

I don't think I have ever been more disappointed from a main event fight that the UFC has put on....wow.
I'm glad Jones won and he will likely fight someone in the top 5 of the LHW division...but I thought it would be a closer fight. Vera looked weak and confused during the whole fight. I don't know. I was very disappointed though. Dos Santos is a beast. I can't wait to see who he fights next.
