TNA Wrestling have almost trebled their ratings in the UK since the arrival of Hulk Hogan and have made it clear that the UK is a key battleground in their war against WWE.
Dixie Carter tweeted today "In UK, iMPACT ratings for 1st 11 wks in 2010 v same period 2009 are up 150%. Up 190% v last 11 wks in 2009."
The average viewership of Impact in the first 11 weeks of 2010 was 133,000 two record breaking shows hit 152,000 and 153,000 viewers almost three times the average number of viewers in 2009 of 56,000.
Carter said: "TNA have remained committed to the United Kingdom's wrestling fans far past our annual Maximum Impact tours — and it is beginning to show.
"The UK is ground zero in the battle to make a change for wrestling fans across the globe."
Ronan Hand, acquisitions manager for Virgin Media, who own Bravo, added: "We are very pleased with how TNA are doing and are grateful for all the work they do in bringing their exciting show to these shores, just reward for the burgeoning UK fan base."
TNA iMPACT! is week on week beating the first run of WWE Raw and Smackdown although one should remember WWE broadcasts on a subscription channel at early hours of the morning in order to present their content live. WWE often picks up the missed ratings in primetime time repeats. Nevertheless with that said TNA are on course to grab a sizeable chuck of the UK market.

Its not a war if WWE is aired live in the morning and TNA is broad-casted later.

Its not a war if WWE is aired live in the morning and TNA is broad-casted later. You can watch RAW live at 2am on a Monday night, OR you can watch the replays throughout the week. There is one night to catch iMPACT! and that is a Saturday night. It is then repeated the following week, just before the next iMPACT! airs.

For those in the US:
- WWE is aired on "Sky Sports" which are a premium set of channels which cost a lot more per month, on top of the standard TV bill.
- TNA is aired on "Bravo" which comes as standard with cable or satellite TV.
So basically TNA only beats WWE in the ratings because the channel has a much higher market than WWE's. If both channels were available at the same price, I doubt TNA would come close to WWE's ratings.

The reasons for this have been stated, Sky Sports costs extra, Raw is on at 2 AM, i guarentee if WWE started showing there programs on a standard channel at a more reasonable hour, the situation would be the same as in the US. The fact of the matter is that Carter has heard all the bad news about their performance in the US and has tried to put a possitive spin on it by mentioning UK ratings, not that you can blame her, in her position id do exactly the same.

To be fair, if I want to watch RAW live, I have to stay up until 4:00 am which is when it ends.
No one is willing to do that on a MONDAY of all days.
Yeah, maybe a Friday, but we have work and college to go to.

the ratings are clearly up... going against WWE or not.... but of course everyone has to find some way to crapon TNA because thats the way it is with following the leader let the blind lead the blind..

Ugh...
I never said the ratings weren't good.
I was just explaining how they're able to beat WWE in the UK, but come nowhere close in America.

I see TNA is doing their own version of "DID YOU KNOW?" facts. You know, releasing pointless facts comparing their own product to another to highlight a small achievement.
