I actually booed at my TV screen. Silva just got bored and stopped. That's all there is to it. Gotta agree there. No doubt Silva won it, but once again, I have the strong feeling that he was trying to send a message that the UFC is consistently putting people against him that are so far beneath him that he doesn't even care. Seeing as no scores were given, I'd say 48-47. Silva did NOTHING in the 4th, and I personally think Maia took the 5th. Anderson Silva, just as quickly as he had me in awe, now has me disgusted. What a boring, boring last three rounds.

I think there are 2 Anderson Silva's. One that has a killer instinct, and one that just doesn't want to engage just for the sheer point he's trying to make.

That may be the case, but he didn't look as if he was holding back, he looked as if he was just bored and couldn't be bothered, as if Maia didn't deserve to be in the Octagon with him.
If Anderson thought that, he should've ended the fight to prove it instead of just coasting through on a boring decision. That doesn't scream "I'm the best P4P fighter in the world" to me.
Props to Miragliotta for telling Silva to actually fight. As far as I'm aware, there are no excuses for such a poor performance.

The real star of tonight anyway is Frankie Edgar.

Man... Anderson Silva just seems to be an arrogant and disrespectful d*ckhead...

Definitely. He looked SO impressive tonight. Neither champion turned up at all tonight.
I'm very interested in how Frankie handles his first title defence. Personally, I'm thinking re-match. Maynard needs to fight Florian. Then we have a new contender. Sotiropolous needs one more fight before getting a contender shot, and I can't think of anyone else.

This is why you put Anderson against tough opponents. NO WAY IN HELL he could pull that sh*t on Henderson or Nate.
Congrats to Frankie pulling out the upset of the year though

Explain how? BJ/Edgar was pretty spot on in my opinion. Not the scores, as I think Frankie had three, at a push four rounds. Anderson toyed with Maia for the first two, did a bit in the third and slacked from there. Both decisions were correct, imo.

This is martial arts. It's about respect, too. Somebody should tell Silva... he might have missed that. I can't get over that... poor Maia. He even took a bow when Silva was still mocking him in the end and the interview was a big joke, too. "He surprised me with some heavy shots". Yeah right.

He did hit Silva a few times. His problem was that he didn't take enough chances.

I haven't seen the Penn/Edgar fight yet, so I'll reserve judgment until then. But I haven't read any 'expert' yet who had the fight scored for Edgar.

Expert? hah. Edgar was landing the harder, crisper shots, and that's what won him the fight. Even BJ knew he lost at the end.

Well I had Frankie win by 4 runds to 1, excellent performance on his part. Used crisp striking & superb movement plus threw in the odd takedown attempt to keep BJ guessing. I actually felt BJ looked a bit bewildred by the last round. What a huge upset.
The Legends match was better than I thought, I expected Hughes TD's then lay & pray in Renzo's guard for decision. Don't get me wrong Matt didn't look like his old self or anything but still a better fight than expected so hats off to both guys.
Anderson is a prick. I hated watching him clowning Maia, thought it was incredibly disrespectful & then to cap it al he blows up & can't even finish the freaking fight. The guy is so skilled but keeps putting on these weird performances. Maybe fans have too high expectations but he clearly could have finished that fight & chose instead to mock Maia.
To his credit even though clearly outgunned he stood in front of Anderson & tried to the best of his abilities. I will admit to hoping to see a surprise Superman punch or flying knee to knock Silva out but no such luck.
The question I have is for all those fans calling GSP's dominant victory over Hardy boring & calling for a focus on standup over wrestling. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW???

DANA is PISSSSSED guys:
Dana's and Ariel Helwani's Twitter: ''I don't want to see GSP vs. Silva after tonight. Silva might be the first champion fighting on a prelim. I don't want to see that sh*t'' -- DW ''If you're that talented, be mike tyson. go in there and finish'' -- DW. ''I'm so blown away and disgusted and saddened''. -- DW "For something like this happen, I honestly ... I apologize and I embarrassed -- DW" ''According to @kevini and @cameomo, Dana threw down the title and left in the 4th round.''
I would be too if my champion and the most hyped guy in the company pulls this crap
