if this was any other legend people wouldn't be interested at all...but Chuck being KO'd 3 times in his last 4 fights people are still giving Chuck a chance...
..I just don't get it...
and I already know what Dana is going to say on UFC 115 Countdown....
"Chuck and Rich are in the same position. Both are in a must win situation. If Chuck wins he will get the next title shot. If Franklin wins then that puts him right in the mix"
I can't wait til Franklin beats the sh** out of Chuck. Rich Franklin is so underrated and I'm not exactly sure why.

You don't think that by some freak of nature, hell freezing over, type of situation where Liddell actually KO's Franklin that Mike Goldberg will shout out "THE ICCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEMAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN IS BAAAAAAAACK!" ...and Dana will give Chuck the next shot at the title? Because I really do.
I don't mean to sound like I hate Chuck either...I just hate how the fans of his never give whoever he is fighting a chance...
..when he fought Rampage again everyone thought that would be the last loss Chuck avenged and he would go down in history as the best ever blah blah blah...
..every fight after that fight he has lost a little piece of himself. He is a shell of what he once was..so as pointless as Tito/Chuck III seemed I would have rather seen that than Chuck vs. a guy I consider one of the best in the world, Rich Franklin.

No. This is Chuck's last fight on his contract. I don't think he'll beat Liddell.

Because I really do. if by some miracle chuck beats franklin... if he gets the first shot vs shogun/lyoto, over jon jones, then thats a major miscarriage of justice. infact, couture, rogerio if he beats forrest (which he likely should) and even the winner of rampage/blanket, deserves a shot before liddell. and rampage might not even fight again after that. |

I'm not saying Chuck would deserve the title shot at all...
but I'm saying a
Shogun vs. Chuck Rematch for the title
or
Lyoto vs. Chuck for the title
would sell a lot more PPV's than a Rogerio vs. Shogun or Lyoto PPV would....
I would love to see Bones fight for the title..that dude is scary. He punked a world class wrestler (Matt Hammill) and a world class muay thai fighter (Brandon Vera).... such an odd unorthodox style...I know he has talked about fighting Lyoto in the past and how much he would love the opportunity so I hope it happens someday and I hope Dana finally gives the guy someone who is a top 5 LHW.

I can't picture Chuck getting a title shot. Hell, if Evans was able to beat Rampage, I'd see him be more deserving

I'm pretty sure it was announced during one of those Amir Sadallah hosted commercials on the first episode of The Ultimate Fighter that the winner of Rampage-vs-Evans is next in line for a title shot. Then again injuries happen, so an injury there could springboard the winner of Chuck-vs-Rich to a higher spot.

I'd much rather see Randy vs Rich same here.. two very intelligent fighters who ALWAYS push the pace. I really wouldn't know who to pick for that one. |
