Can't wait to see him throw it in the trash, only for Henderson to pick it up later in the night.

Well Shields was always gonna go to UFC after the Henderson fight anyway. That's not surprising.

It would be cool to see it being held by a corner man during an entrance, but it won't get any kind of attention. He won't cut a promo in the octagon with Jack Shields behind him, haha.

If the rumors of Strikeforce having a 60-day guaranteed negotiating period with Shields are true, then Shields and Dana White have already pushed their luck with that stunt on the Aldo vs. Faber PPV.
If they also bring the belt out on UFC television, they're begging for a lawsuit. I know the UFC feels pretty invincible right now, in terms of winning lawsuits in Las Vegas, but still.

If SF makes copies of their belts for their champions like Zuffa does, unless he signed a waiver agreement he can do what he wants with his copy of the belt.
Strikeforce has no 60 day policy, Jake does. He has the right to sign a 1-fight extension, but he isn't going to.

Strikeforce has no 60 day policy, Jake does. He has the right to sign a 1-fight extension, but he isn't going to. But it's a 60 day policy with Strikeforce and therefore he's still not allowed to negotiate elsewhere, no matter what he plans to do. The only reason to have a guaranteed negotiating period is for it to be exclusive to both parties. If it's non-exclusive, then it's worthless, and neither side would have wasted their time putting it into the contract.

He is allowed to negotiate, he just can't sign with anybody. His deal with Zuffa is done already. He has the option for a 1 fight extension, meaning if he lost he would have had the leverage to force Strikeforce to find him an opponent within 60 days. The fight itself could have taken place outside the 60 days. Showtime signed a bad deal with him.
