Well something needs to be done about all these illegal immigrants. I just wish there was a better way to regulate such without profiling. That's because there is none. And for that one idiot who'll eventually say it, just because that person doesn't speak English, doesn't mean they are illegal. There are plenty of legal immigrants, Latino or otherwise who do not speak English or can't speak it well enough to carry a conversation so they have family translate. Of course this bill won't touch anyone but the Latinos, so it's already flawed from the outright.

Well correct me if I'm wrong here, but rights we all take for granted here, only apply to actual legal citizens/immigrants.

I'm all for this bill.
Just because you can get past a fence doesn't mean you should be guaranteed rights.
Stand in line and get a f*cking green card.

It's racist, discriminatory and most likely illegal. Just like the Patriot Act. But here we are...

I'm sure a legal resident's social security # can easily be obtained along with other documents such as birth certificates.

I'm sure a legal resident's social security # can easily be obtained along with other documents such as birth certificates. And I'm sure undocumented people can get those if they wanted them. They could get very real looking ones. Plus, they aren't going to pull over white people at and ask for proof of citizenship. They are going to be pulling over Hispanics and Hispanic looking people.

Just because a bill is passed doesnt mean its constitutional...The thing im most afraid of in this bill is the possibility of Legal American Citizens going to jail for no reason other than not having their papers on them..And that WILL happen..Adding to that point...Im sure most cops follow the law there...but you get 1 racist cop, or 1 cop in a bad mood, or 1 cop who abuses his power and you might have another huge legal and political fight on your hands will ALL kinds of civil rights groups which are gonna.

I'm sorry. Maybe profiling doesn't work for everyone, but we're definitely at a point where we need to do something, and if it takes providing proof of citizenship, at random, regardless if you're black, white, Latino, Hispanic, or otherwise, I'm all for it.

That's great and everything, until you come to the realization that "at random" is never random.
This is going to encourage racial profiling, plain and simple. In ARIZONA, if you see a poor looking white guy and a poor looking Hispanic walking down the same street, who do you think a cop is more likely to stop and ask for proof of citizenship?
The good cops will do the whole "at random" thing, sure. But there's going to be a whole hell of a lot of racial profiling done because of this bill. As a proud Cuban-American, there's no way in hell you'll ever see me in favor of this bill.
