I guess I just don't see, or maybe care about, the concern over profiling. Regardless of whether you're black, white, purple, or whatever - if you're legally in this country, what issue do you have with providing proof?

But the officers aren't going to stop white people and ask them to see if the are legally here.

So all cops are white?
I'd be interested in seeing the demographics of the Arizona State Police, and on a more local level, the demographics of local police forces closer to the Mexican border.

I never said all cops are white, but when you think of undocumented people, you don't think of white people. So they aren't going to be targeted.
One Arizona police department has said they will not be enforcing the law.

I believe 3 Arizona mayors are speaking out against it too, aswell as the usual very right wing Carl Rove, and Florida Tea Party candidate Marco Rubio.

For all of you crying that this will lead to profiling, what would you propose? Do nothing? What's the answer to illegal immigrants?

Surprisingly, many opponents I've spoken to regarding several immigration reform laws have suggested amnesty for illegals who've kept their nose clean since coming here.

For all of you crying that this will lead to profiling, what would you propose? Do nothing? What's the answer to illegal immigrants? Exactly, like I said before something needs to be done about illegal immigration. The only people that need to be blamed for this immigration bill are all the immigrants that sneak into this country illegally, they ruined it for all the decent and honest immigrants that have the right to live in this country. There are so many illegal immigrants where I live it's not even funny and they're taking all our jobs. In the city I live in which is New Bedford, Mass, there was a factory that was raided a while ago and there were tons of illegal immigrants working there taking away jobs from people that live here legally and that really pisses me off. Here's the full story for anyone that's interested, I believe it was such a big story that it was on the news all over the country: www.boston.com/news/globe/city_region/breaking_news/2007/03/up_to_350_in_cu.htmlThis may seem like an unfair law, but illegal immigration is getting out of hand and somethings gotta be done.

Unfortunately, Massachusetts blew their shot at doing anything about it yesterday when the House voted down a bill that would require anyone applying for state assistance (welfare, government housing, etc.) to provide proof of residency.

Unbelievable What's better, is that when one of the House Reps who voted it down was invited to appear on Michael Graham's show today to discuss his decision, he responded with, and I quote: Elected officials, everyone.

An elected official actually said that Yeah, this country is definitely going to sh*t.

Racial Profiling is illegal, sure....but you know what else is illegal? Border hopping.

Thank God however that Scott Brown defeated Martha Coakley in the recent election. His victory gave me a slight glimmer of hope for this state.

I'm slightly north of you guys, but were I 15 minutes south, I'd have voted Scott Brown as well.
