We open to a video package highlighting the events during the Tag Team Championship main event last week. After showcasing several key moments from the match, we come to the interruption by Yukio Blaze. As we again see him lay out Thunder, his words echo as we fade into a still shot of the WFWF Loaded logo.
Following this, we cut live to somewhere unspecified as an array of impressive and overly expensive pyrotechnics shake the building to it's very core but not to an extend that would endanger the structural integrity of the venue. The last thing we need are depraved indifference charges, you know? Anyway, following this, "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour blares over the soundspeakers eliciting a strong chorus of boos from the crowd in wherever we're at.
Matthew Werner: It appears things are getting underway sooner than expected.
Matt Steel: To say the least.
The WFWF International and co-holder of the Tag Team Championship Thunder steps through the curtain and begins walking quickly toward the ring with a microphone in his hand.
Matthew Werner: You've got to imagine after the events of last week he's got a lot on his mind.
Matt Steel: For over a week he's had to relive that coward Yukio Blaze's actions in his head over and over again. If I know Thunder, he's most certainly got something to say about it.
Matthew Werner: Clearly. I mean, he is walking to the ring with a microphone in his hand.
Go ahead, look up. It's there.
Matt Steel: ... You know Matthew I try and all you do is shut me down...
Thunder walks up the ring steps then through the middle and top rope. After pausing momentarily for the boos and jeers to quiet down a few levels, Thunder raises the microphone to his lips and begins to speak.
Thunder: Given how last week’s show ended, it should be pretty obvious why I’m out here. Yukio, I think you owe me an explanation, so I strongly suggest you get your a*s out here right now.
"Totalimmortal" by AFI hits eliciting a loud ovation from the crowd as Yukio Blaze does indeed come out, a microphone of his own in hand.
Matthew Werner: This is going to get interesting.
Matt Steel: I certainly hope so.
Blaze slides under the bottom rope and goes face to face with Thunder.
Yukio Blaze: You should consider yourself lucky that I’m not going to kick your a*s again right now.
The crowd cheers at the potential of Yukio Blaze kicking Thunder's a*s.
Thunder: And why is that? Because you’re so immature that you can’t just accept that I always have and always will be better than you?
Matt Steel: The man makes a point.
Matthew Werner: Shh.
Yukio Blaze: Don’t act like you don’t know why. It’s more than just our past. I want to know how the woman I fell for just happens to also be your sister.
Thunder: Well, you see, our parents had sex. Nine months later...
Yukio Blaze slaps him in the face eliciting a large "Oooh" from the audience.
Yukio Blaze: You think this is funny? I know what you've been doing. You set this whole thing up from the beginning just so you could get rid of me.
In the heat of the moment, Thunder cracks a smirk.
Thunder: You sure like conspiracy theories, don’t know? Go ahead and tell me who the shooter on the grassy knoll was while you’re at it. It doesn’t matter what I say about Robin. I could deny any involvement in that until I’m blue in the face, and it won’t change what you’re thinking at all. But you are right about one thing and one thing only; I do want to get rid of you and I have for a long, long time. Through my entire career you have been a thorn in my side. No matter how high I rose in this company, you were always right behind me trying to ruin it. I've fought you countless times over every title. I even threw you off a balcony for God sake, and you still came back.
Yukio Blaze: That’s right. You should know by now that no matter what you throw at me I will come back. And seeing as I want you gone just as badly, I have a suggestion; At SuperBrawl, let's do this one last time because I want this match to be a retirement match!
A collective gasp is heard from the audience who look on in anticipation of Thunder's response.
After momentarily contemplating the decision, Thunder goes face to face with Yukio Blaze.
Thunder: I must say, that’s the only good idea you’ve ever had. It will be my pleasure to show to the whole world that I have always been better than you, and to get you of my life once and for all. Simply put; I accept!
Thunder's acceptance of this challenge elicits an eruption of cheers from the audience!
Yukio Blazes stares out at the crowd, then locks eyes once again with Thunder.
Yukio Blaze: With that settled, I’ve got one final suggestion.
Thunder peers in on Blaze with a perplexed look on his face.
Yukio Blaze: Since these coming weeks may be the last time anybody sees us again, how about next week right here on WFWF Loaded we compete in pair of dream matches!?
Perhaps overly excited, the crowd once again reacts.
Thunder: Fine by me!
The crowd, once again, cheers. Thunder begins to exit the ring but stops just short of doing so.
Thunder: Oh and Yukio?
Yukio looks toward Thunder.
Thunder: Enjoy your retirement tour.
"Cult of Personality" blares once again over the speaker system as Thunder begins to exit the ring.
Matthew Werner: What a way to kick off WFWF Loaded!
Matt Steel: No doubt. In the first match officially confirmed for WFWF SuperBrawl, it appears that Thunder and Yukio Blaze will indeed square off one last time in a retirement match!
Matthew Werner: Still, Thunder better not get too caught up in what's going on with Yukio Blaze because tonight he is set to face off with Alex Sean and DGX in our main event!
Matt Steel: Last week we saw that Trace Demon and Thunder can work as a cohesive unit but there is no doubt that Alex Sean and DGX are among greatest of all time as a tag team, if not the single greatest ever!
Matthew Werner: Of course as of right now, neither Alex Sean or DGX have arrived to the building. We have Ryan Riddel standing by for their eventual arrival. Shifting gears, however, prior to tonight's live telecast we saw several young stars compete in preliminary bouts. One of which was a triple threat between CrazyCale, X-Jack, and Jason Evans.
We cut to the aforementioned triple threat match that took place earlier this evening. The bell rings and the three men rush in at one another exchanging blows. We then are treated to several key highlights such as delivering a German Suplex and X-Jack hitting a Tornado DDT. Still, Jason Evans proves to be the superior of the three as he pins X-Jack following an Assault Driver!
Stacy Grey: Here is your winner... Jason Evans!
As "Fight Music" by D12 plays and Jason Evans celebrates, we cut back live to Werner and Steel.
Matthew Werner: Very exciting young prospect in Jason Evans.
Matt Steel: For sure.
Werner places a hand to his ear, his eyes opening wide.
Matthew Werner: One moment. It appears as if Trace Demon is on his way to the ring right now!
We cut backstage as Trace Demon walks with a purpose toward the the stage. The crowd jeers Demon loudly.
Matthew Werner: We have to go to a break folks, we'll be right back!
As we return from break, "Death Before Dishonor" by Five Finger Death Punch hits and the lights dim, immediately getting a negative reaction from the crowd. Trace Demon walks out onto the stage, sporting a completely black outfit, including black suit, shirt, trousers and even wearing shades. Instead of his usual pyrotechnic display a single spotlight shines down on Trace at the top of the ramp way. He holds out his arms, almost in a crucifixion stance, before lifting them up and turning the lights on in the process.
Stacy Grey: Making his way to the ring; He is one half of the WFWF Tag Team Champions and the WFWF World Heavyweight Champion... Trace Demon!
Trace Demon slowly makes his way down to the ring and enters between the top and middle rope. He doesn’t use any of his usual show offish taunts though, instead standing in the center of the ring and being handed a microphone by Stacy Grey. Trace waits for the boos to die down before smiling slightly.
Matthew Werner: I guess the World Champion has something to say.
Matt Steel: But what’s with the new look Werner? I don’t remember Trace ever looking this respectable or acting this calmly.
Trace Demon: I guess everybody wants to know why I’m out here, using up ring time that could probably be used for other wrestlers who you like far more than you do me.
This comment gets a slight pop from the fans, who clearly agree with Trace’s comments.
Trace Demon: I’m out here for one reason and one reason only... And that is to apologize.
Matt Steel: What the hell is he talking about?
Trace Demon: You see, ever since I came to the WFWF I’ve treated you people like the enemy. I blamed you whenever anything went wrong in a match, whenever I didn’t win, whenever something didn’t go my way. But now I realise it wasn’t your fault, you don’t have anything to do with how I perform in this ring. That is all down to me and me alone. So I’m out here to say that I apologize for my actions. I’m at a new point in my life, a point where I can come into this ring and feel positive that I don’t need mind games or cheap tactics to win my matches, because I have my skill. I think this proves that.
With those words Trace Demon holds up the WFWF World Championship, which gets a mixed reaction of cheers, boos, and stunned silence.
Trace Demon: So what you’re going to see from now on is a Trace Demon that is here for the right reasons; To be a success, to entertain, to prove himself. And you’re going to see me do that the right way, not the cheap way. And of course, that brings me to Alex Sean and DGX.
As the crowd cheers the mention of Sean and DGX, Trace pauses for a moment looking down at his World Championship and grinning before looking back up at the crowd.
Trace Demon: DGX, I have no problems with you. We’ve had our match and I came out victorious, but I’m not stupid enough to come out to this ring and predict an easy victory against you. You’ll take me and Thunder to the limit tonight, and I welcome your return to the WFWF ring with a smile and a fight that I’m sure you’ll return in kind.
Matthew Werner: Sporting words from Trace Demon here, I don’t know what he’s been doing recently but it’s certainly brought out a better side of the World Champion.
Matt Steel: Please! This man deserves an academy award for this performance.
Trace Demon: Alex Sean, you seem to have taken it upon yourself to try and get me out of the WFWF, and I won’t hold that against you. You’ve clearly been manipulated by the higher ups in the same way that I was when I was the only authority figure around. But notice that as soon as I started going against them, doing things for the company instead of their pockets, they brought you back to try and get rid of me. And as soon as I’m gone they’ll do the same to you. What I’m saying Sean is that you need to get out while you still can. You’re not leadership material, just look at how your actions led to Yukio Blaze attacking us last week on Loaded. That was all down to you, and unless you start focusing on what is best for business things like that will keep happening. But if you instead want to focus on getting rid of me, then I urge you to bring it on, because I’ll soon as kick you out of that commissioners seat myself.
This gets another mixed reaction from the crowd, which leads to a smile from Trace who clearly isn’t too used to having any fans on his side. When he next talks his voice is raised, and there is a sense of purpose in his tone.
Trace Demon: Because you see Alex Sean, what you’ve gotten used to dealing with is the irrational, psychotic Trace Demon, but that’s not who you have to cope with now. You now have a rational man who is two steps ahead of you ready to slap the taste of arrogance right out of your mouth. And that Alex Sean is something you’re not going to be able to handle.
Trace pauses, before shouting down the microphone.
Trace Demon: Trace Demon is dead! Long live Trace Demon!
Trace drops the microphone and exits the ring, small segments of the crowd cheering for him but most remaining silent, clearly not entirely convinced of Trace’s apparent turn.
Matthew Werner: Trace Demon has sent out an invitation of war to Commissioner Alex Sean.
Matt Steel: I don't care what he says, Matthew. Trace Demon always has been, is, and always will be a corrupt maniac and this is just another attempt at mind games at the expense of Alex Sean!
Matthew Werner: Maybe that's the case but if it's not, Matt, we’re not used to seeing a rational Trace Demon. Who knows what he is capable of doing now that he is thinking two steps ahead. If I was Alex Sean, I’d start thinking about my next step.
Matt Steel: Glad to know where your loyalty lies, Matthew.
Matthew Werner: What's that supposed to mean?
Matt Steel: The guy gets you more jobs than Yukio Blaze Zing! and you repay him by siding with the guy who's tried on multiple occasions to end his career, tear apart his legacy, and ruin his life.
Matthew Werner: ... On another topic, we once again go to earlier this evening where another preliminary bout took place!
Matt Steel: Turncoat.
Matthew Werner: Will you stop!
We cut to earlier this evening as Twisted and Lightning face off in the middle of the ring. The bell rings and, much like before, we're treated to a video package of highlights from this bout concluding with Lightning delivering The Holy Diver for the win!
Stacy Grey: Here is your winner... "The Extreme Icon" Lightning!
"Martyr No More" by Fozzy plays cueing Lightning's hand to be raised and a celebration of his victory. We then return live to Werner and Steel at ringside.
Matthew Werner: A great performance by Lightning but coming up next, Joe Bishop and Jack Sabbath square off in a continuation of a rivalry that's been seriously heating up!
Matt Steel: Joe Bishop is looking for revenge after Jack Sabbath assaulted him just last week while Jack Sabbath is looking to prove himself as a contender in the National Championship picture.
Matthew Werner: We'll be right back!
We return live to WFWF Loaded as Stacy Grey is standing in the middle of the ring.
Stacy Grey: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is a singles match!
"Into the Light" by Papa Roach plays out over the loud speaker as Joe Bishop walks onstage to the cheers of the fans. With the lights flickering quickly on and off, Joe runs down the ramp and slides into the ring.
Stacy Grey: Making his way to the ring first; Hailing from Wimbledon, England, he weighs in at 195 lbs... Joe Bishop!
Bishop jumps up to the top rope raising his arms in the air before flipping backwards off the ring post and into the ring, a smile appearing across his face as he prepares for his opponent to appear. The lights fade out as "I'd Start a Revolution" by Aimee Allen sounds throughout the arena, a flickering strobe light commencing. As the first verse starts, the strobe light ceases and a gold hue comes over the stage as "Diamond" Jack Sabbath emerges from the curtain to a chorus of boos.
Stacy Grey: And his opponent; Hailing from Salford, Manchester England, he weighs in at 246 lbs... "Diamond" Jack Sabbath!
Standing on the stage, Sabbath stares down towards the ring at Bishop with a cocky smile on his face. He then slowly walks down the ramp with a large spotlight on him, ignoring any kind of reaction from the crowd.
Matthew Werner: Jack Sabbath doesn't seem interested in making many friends tonight.
Matt Steel: This man is all business, Matthew. He's got Joe Bishop's number tonight, you can count on that!
Sabbath stops right in front of the ring and looks at Bishop with an intimidating glare. He walks up the steps, gets in the ring and runs over to the turnbuckle and jumps onto it extending his arms outward to the crowd to yet another loud chorus of boos. Sabbath jumps off the turnbuckle and throws his shades into the inside pocket of his leather jacket then throws the jacket over to one of the stage-crew at the side of the ring.
Matthew Werner: He's taking an awful long time here.
As Sabbath's entrance finally concludes, the official separates the two men toward their respective corners then calls for the bell to start the match!
Matthew Werner: Here we go!
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Matt Steel: Go X-Dub!
The two men stare each other in the eyes, the crowd feeling the tension between the them. They lock up in the center of the ring and Sabbath immediately overpowers Bishop sending him straight into the ring post. Sabbath lunges in with a couple of shots to the ribs causing Bishop to slump to the floor.
Matt Steel: What did I say? This kid's overmatched here!
Matthew Werner: Most certainly the size difference between the two is playing a big part in the opening moments of this match.
Sabbath gets a good hold of Bishop's hair and drags him to his feet before nailing a punch that sends Bishop flying against the turnbuckles. He takes a few steps backwards lining himself up with his opponent before going in for a body cross. Just before impact, however, Bishop manages to duck sending "Diamond" smashing face first against the turnbuckles! As Sabbath stumbles back, Joe Bishop ducks under and pulls Sabbath down with a school boy roll-up!
Matthew Werner: This could be it!
... 1 ...
Matt Steel: Oh no!
... 2 ...
Just after two, Sabbath tosses the smaller man off of him.
Matthew Werner: Close call there.
Matt Steel: He ain't sweatin' it.
Bishop quickly follows up with a kick to the side of the head of his opponent before locking him in the Cross-Face!
Matthew Werner: He isn't out of the woods yet!
Sabbath struggles through the excruciating pain as the crowd gasps in excitement. After several moments, he manages to draw him and his foe toward the ropes clutching the bottom to break the hold.
Matt Steel: That's what this is all about right there, Matthew. Joe Bishop had a chance to win and Jack Sabbath was too strong for him.
Matthew Werner: Yes, he certainly looked good almost getting pinned then almost submitting within the opening frame of this bout. Practically untouchable.
Matt Steel: Well of course when you put it that way...
Matthew Werner: What other possible way could I put it?
Matt Steel: The truth. That's how.
As Sabbath holds his shoulder, Bishop drags him back into the middle of the ring and goes to lock in the Figure Four Leg-Lock, but is propelled backwards into the corner causing an ugly whiplash effect sending him straight to the canvas. Sabbath quickly follows up with a cover.
Matthew Werner: He's got a pin!
... 1 ...
Matt Steel: It's over!
... 2 ...
Bishop gets his shoulder up just in the knick of time! Sabbath gets to his feet and as Bishop follows suit moments later, hits the ropes. As he comes back looking for a clothesline, Bishop ducks the maneuver, hits the ropes, and comes back with a big Cross-Body.
Matthew Werner: That was a big rookie mistake by Sabbath and he paid for it!
Matt Steel: It's... strategy. It's all part of his strategy!
As Sabbath begins to get to his feet, Joe Bishop rushes toward the corner then up to the top rope. Before Bishop can jump, however, Sabbath shoves the official into the ropes causing Bishop to lose his footing and get crotched on the turnbuckles!
Matt Steel: See!? I told you!
Matthew Werner: What a cheap move by Jack Sabbath!
Bishop falls to the canvas and the official begins to yell at Jack Sabbath. His pleas fall on deaf ears however and Sabbath proceeds to unleash a barrage of stomps on his fallen adversary. After successfully keeping him down, Sabbath turns and raises his arms in celebration causing the fans to boo him immensely.
Matthew Werner: This is ridiculous.
After a few moments of gloating, Sabbath turns back toward Bishop and grabs him by his head. After being raised to one knee, Bishop fires off a few desperation blows to the mid-section of Sabbath but his quickly cut off with a knee to the face followed by a vicious Scoop Slam. Sabbath follows up immediately with a cover.
... 1 ...
Matt Steel: This one's finished.
... 2 ...
Bishop gets a shoulder up much to the chagrin of his opponent. Sabbath immediately follows up by raising Bishop off the ground, lifting him up, and bringing him down hard with a Back-Breaker! Rather than release the man, however, Sabbath holds Bishop in the position then places one hand on his knee and the other his chin, stretching him ruthlessly.
Matt Steel: Now this one is finished! There's no way out for Joe Bishop!
Matthew Werner: I hate to agree but you may be right.
The crowd begins to clap in unison, cheering Joe Bishop on, as Sabbath nods his head in refusal. After a few intense moments, Bishop begins to fire off shots to Sabbath's face. After several, Sabbath is forced to break the hold. Angered, Sabbath signals that the end is near then grabs Bishop off the canvas.
Matthew Werner: He's looking to close this one out.
Sabbath grabs Bishop in position for the Diamond's Wrath. He lifts him for the maneuver but just as he is in position to deiver the Power-Bomb, Sabbath is taken off balance by a sudden Hurricanrana by Joe Bishop! Bishop holds the leg as they make it to the canvas for a pin-fall!
Matthew Werner: He might have it!
... 1 ...
Matt Steel: Kick out!
... 2 ...
Matthew Werner: Is this it!?
Sabbath breaks free from the cover just at the last moment but the tide has already changed. As he gets to his feet, Jack Sabbath is met by a series of forearm shots by the energized Joe Bishop. Sabbath is pushed to the ropes but upon the Irish Whip reverses the momentum sending Bishop to the opposite ropes. Sabbath ducks his head for a Back-Body Drop but is met by a kick to the face. Seeing his opening, Joe Bishop climbs to the top rope.
Matthew Werner: High impact move coming up!
Bishop dives off the ropes for a Diving Cross-Body but Jack Sabbath once again shoves the official, this time directly into Bishop's path causing the referee to absorb the full impact of Bishop's offense!
Matt Steel: Fantastic!
Matthew Werner: You have got to be kidding me! This is the second time that he has blatantly cheated in this match!
Matt Steel: Hey, it's only cheating if you get caught, Matthew.
Joe Bishop immediately realizes what happened and goes to check on the official. But as his focus shifts, Jack Sabbath takes the opportunity and, with a running start, kicks Bishop right in the back of his head.
Matthew Werner: I sure hope he's happy that he has to damn near kill a referee just to win a match.
Matt Steel: There you go again, making assumptions.
Matthew Werner: Are you honestly trying to say that Sabbath was winning this match based on his own merits?
Matt Steel: Oh, no, I'm just saying that the referee could actually be dead. Nobody's checked his pulse yet.
Matthew Werner: ... Is that really the point you want to be making right now?
Matt Steel: Point taken.
As Bishop and the referee lay fallen in the ring, Jack Sabbath exits toward ringside and grabs a steel chair.
Matthew Werner: Oh come on!
Sliding underneath the bottom rope, Sabbath readies himself for the finishing blow with the steel chair. Bishop gets to his feet and Sabbath swings but the move is ducked by Joe Bishop who, upon Sabbath turning around, lands a big Drop-Kick sending the chair directly into Sabbath's face!
Matt Steel: I can't believe this! Joe Bishop has used a foreign object in this match!
Matthew Werner: Turnabout is fair play, Matt.
As Sabbath falls to the canvas, Bishop kicks the chair out of the ring then ascends to the top rope where he crashes down with the Decido Spiritus! Just in time a second referee rushes to the ring to count the resulting pin-fall.
Matt Steel: This is ridiculous!
... 1 ...
Matthew Werner: He's got him!
... 2 ...
Matt Steel: NO!
... 3 ...
Matthew Werner: He got it!
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Stacy Grey: Here is your winner... Joe Bishop!
Joe Bishop leaps off of his opponent to an ovation from the audience. The official raises his hand in victory then Bishop rolls out of the ring and begins his walk up the ramp.
Matt Steel: I can't believe my eyes. I hope Joe Bishop is happy having to cheat his way to victory!
Matthew Werner: In your own words, Matt, it's only cheating if you get caught. Jack Sabbath tried to play that game with Joe Bishop and he paid for it, end of story.
Matt Steel: I am now convinced that we were not watching the same match.
Matthew Werner: I wish for one moment you could actually see thi... Wait, I'm getting word that Alex Sean and DGX have arrived to the building! Let's send it back to Ryan Riddel who's standing by!
We cut to the parking lot as the previously mentioned Ryan Riddel is standing by.
Ryan Riddel: Thanks, Matthew. As was noted, we've received word that Alex Sean and DGX have arrived to the building and should be with us at any moment. I have to imagine they've got a lot to say after Trace Demon and Thunder's words earli... Oh, here they are now... Alex! DGX!
As explained, Alex Sean and DGX step into the shot from what looks to be a stretch limousine to an enormous ovation from the audience. As they walk toward the doors of the building, Ryan Riddel rushes toward them.
Ryan Riddel: Hey guys, mind if I get a word?
Sean and DGX stop, give each other a look for confirmation, simultaneously shrug, and nod toward Riddel.
Alex Sean: What's up?
Ryan Riddel: First and foremost, I'd like to formally congratulate you both on winning the WFWF Tag Team of the Year award two years in a row.
As the crowd pops at this achievement, Sean and DGX both share accomplished grins.
DGX: Well, really, who else did you expect to win it? The Revelation?
Sean nods, acknowledging the ridiculousness in that statement. Sorry guys.
Ryan Riddel: Well, perhaps the team that technically dethroned you of your Tag Team Championship last year; Trace Demon and Thunder?
Sean and DGX share a laugh as DGX continues.
DGX: First of all, Alex and I didn't lose the WFWF Tag Team Championship, EBR and I did. Second, we only lost them because...
Sean coughs in his hand as if to suggest to DGX to move on to another point.
DGX: ... Well, you all remember what happened. Alex and I had other issues at the time and yes, they cost us the belts but as for Trace Demon and Thunder's actual involvement...
DGX pauses looking for just the right words.
DGX: That was more circumstancial than anything. But tonight Alex and I are here, on the same page, and have only one goal in mind; To win back our DGX pauses, emphasizing the our. WFWF Tag Team Championship.
Sean and DGX share a nod, then begin to walk away until...
Ryan Riddel: Wait, just one other thing.
The two men stop.
Ryan Riddel: Mr. Sean, what are your thoughts on Trace Demon's words earlier this evening?
Sean looks off in the distance momentarily, then turns toward DGX and appears to mumble something under his breath for only DGX to here. The words are acknowledged with a nod followed by a handshake between the two and DGX continues his trek solo into the building. With that, Sean approaches Ryan Riddel once more.
Alex Sean: It's very simple, Ryan; Talk is cheap. For over a year, Trace Demon has done nothing but stick it to these people who spend their hard-earned dollars to watch us wrestle. And now, all of a sudden, when his back is against the wall and he has no allies, he's all about the fans?
Sean cocks his head to the side and rolls his eyes.
Alex Sean: Even Stevie Wonder could see that as a ploy.
Ryan Riddel: A ploy for what, exactly?
Alex Sean: I have a few ideas, none I necessarily would like to get into right now. At the end of the day, regardless of what Trace Demon believes or does, there is something that he cannot avoid and that is my vengeance come SuperBrawl. Tonight, I take a big step in accomplishing that while getting back something that is rightfully mine. All in all...
Alex Sean pauses and cracks a sly grin.
Alex Sean: Tonight should be a good night.
As the WFWF Comissioner goes to leave, Riddel stops him for one last question.
Ryan Riddel: Just one other thing, if you don't mind?
Sean stops once again, this time however only cocking his head to the side in acknowledgement.
Ryan Riddel: You spoke of facing Trace Demon at SuperBrawl. What about Drakz's title shot? Isn't he next in line to face Demon?
Alex Sean: Well, the most I can say...
Clearly choosing his words carefully, Sean pauses.
Alex Sean: ... That situation has been taken care of. This interview is over.
Alex Sean walks off, an unusual look on his face seemingly suggesting that he has not spoken the entire truth. As Ryan Riddel stares in Sean's direction trying to figure the man out, we fade to commercial.
We return live to WFWF Loaded as Luke McCarthy stands in the ring already awaiting his opponent.
Stacy Grey: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is a singles match. In the ring; He hails from Columbia, Tennessee and weighs in at 287 lbs... Luke McCarthy!
As his name is announced, McCarthy pumps a fist much to the chagrin of the audience.
Matthew Werner: Welcome back everyone to WFWF Loaded. Interesting statements made by our WFWF Commissioner just a few moments ago.
Matt Steel: The man speaks the truth, Matthew. Trace Demon is in over his head and he knows it!
Matthew Werner: Well in any case, it looks as if Luke McCarthy will be competing here tonight.
Matt Steel: This kid's going places, Matthew. He's getting a big opportunity to compete live here on Loaded and my guess is he's going to take full advantage of it!
The eerie yet beautiful atmospherics of "Heart Space" by Vex'd echoes around the arena and the lights fade to darkness. As the vocals ease in the lights flicker with each word until the industrial drums hit the PA and the focus is brought to the top of the ramp. As this theme has never been heard before the crowd waits to see who will emerge, eventually, as expected, Drakz steps out on to the stage wearing the same sinister smile he has worn for the last 6 years of his WFWF career garnering an enormous, shock reaction.
Matt Steel: ... Perhaps I spoke too soon.
His hood covers his head and remains that way as he begins to swagger down the ramp toward the ring, nodding his head to the beat all the while. He hops up onto the ring apron and takes a look around the arena at his loving fans. While in the past people have been undecided about this superstar now they can't get enough of him and he knows it.
Stacy Grey: And his opponent; He weighs in at 246 lbs... Drakz!
He steps under the top rope and pulls his hood down as he enters the ring spinning around with his arms out, hands open and head bowed a little to acknowledge the crowd and thank them. Luke stands in the corner, remaining focused on the match ahead and ignoring the crowd’s illogical bias. Drakz then unzips his hooded top and throws it to the corner, staring at Luke the whole time with that smile still plastered across his face.
Matt Steel: The look in that man's eyes must be burning holes through the less experienced Luke McCarthy.
Matthew Werner: This match in and of itself is a little peculiar, don't you think?
Matt Steel: How so?
Matthew Werner: Well I have to imagine Luke McCarthy is a little... Overmatched?
Matt Steel: Ohhh... Nahh... He'll be uh... He'll be fine.
The official separates the two men toward their respective corners, then calls for the bell to get this match underway.
Matthew Werner: It appears things are ready to go.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Matt Steel: Good luck, kid.
Luke comes out of his corner as confidently as he can and raises his opened hands up asking for a test of strength, Drakz shoots a look either side and instead makes a rush at his opponent. Luke runs out of the way and backs up leaving them at opposite sides of the ring again. Luke shouts to Drakz "Come on man" and holds up his hand once again.
Matthew Werner: It does not appear that Drakz is at all interested in playing Luke McCarthy's game here.
Matt Steel: It could be strategy on the part of McCarthy. You never know.
Drakz nods this time and steps toward him with his hand reaching for his opponent but with lightning speed grapples Luke’s arm and takes it behind his head locking him into a full nelson, he then jumps into the air and slams him with a full nelson drop to the mat.
Matt Steel: ... Or not.
Drakz is immediately up on his feet and takes no time to boot the seated McCarthy flat in the teeth. He falls back and holds his face but Drakz continues the quick beat down with numerous stomps to his floored challenger. Eventually the ref intervenes and Drakz backs up allowing Luke to his feet.
Matthew Werner: Luke McCarthy has got to engage some type of an offense here before it's too late.
Matt Steel: The problem is, a guy as experienced as Drakz both in the physical and psychological aspects of combat can get inside a guy as inexperienced as Luke McCarthy's head and take him right out of the match.
Matthew Werner: That was surprisingly well-said.
Matt Steel: As I say everytime you say that, I have my moments.
Drakz makes another run at Luke and goes for a clothesline but Luke is quick to duck and runs across the ring himself catapulting off of the ropes. Both men charge at each other but Drakz catches the rookie with a huge DDT that leaves him face down on the mat and making no effort to stand again.
Matt Steel: This is just going from bad to worse.
Drakz now goes to the corner and ascends the turnbuckle to the top rope; he cockily takes a brief look around at the crowd before diving across the ring looking to hit a shooting star press. In the time it’s taken Drakz to become air born though Luke rolls out of harm’s way and Drakz catches a face full of mat.
Matthew Werner: Huge miscalculation by Drakz! Luke McCarthy has his opening!
Luke moves to the grounded body and throws an arm over him.
Matt Steel: He's going for the cover!
... 1 ...
Matthew Werner: Could it be!?
Drakz raises a shoulder as this is the first injury he has sustained thus far. Luke clambers to his feet and drags Drakz up with him but the grapple is broken and Drakz hits a hard uppercut on McCarthy leaving him reeling. Drakz shakes his head in a cartoon like fashion as though he were shaking off the stars and smiles as he wraps his arms around Luke’s waist from behind and lays him out with a German Suplex.
Matthew Werner: And just like that, Drakz is back in the driver's seat.
He keeps the hold and stands before hitting another, then without breaking the hold he stands again and hits a third, releasing Luke at the top of the flip sending him across the ring and landing on his neck, crumpling near the ropes.
Matthew Werner: Good god, the official needs to seriously consider stopping this thing before it's too late.
Matt Steel: You might be right.
Drakz stands once more and rubs his hands together making his way over to the floored newcomer. He lifts his head off the mat and with one hand opens Luke’s eyes, staring into them before giving him a playful slap and dropping his face back to the ring surface.
Matthew Werner: Now he's just mocking him!
Drakz moves back over to the corner again and takes a seat on the turnbuckle, waiting for his opponent to rise. He eventually does and so Drakz jumps down and stalks him from behind.
Matt Steel: The Number One Contender stalks his prey!
McCarthy is holding the ropes to stabilise but when he eventually feels he’s ok to hold himself he steps backward from them and right into Drakz’s grapple. Drakz wraps Luke’s far arm over his own head and then in a pump handle manoeuvre launches him upward, holds him on his shoulders and then drops him down nailing the first "Needle Damage" of his current WFWF run. He holds for the pin.
Matthew Werner: Needle Damage!
... 1 ...
Matt Steel: This one's finished!
... 2 ...
... 3 ...
Matthew Werner: And he got it.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Stacy Grey: Here is your winner... Drakz!
Just like that the match is over and Drakz rises up but doesn’t celebrate, instead he makes his way out of the ring and toward the announcer’s desk where he grabs himself a steel chair.
Matthew Werner: What the hell is Drakz doing!?
Matt Steel: This is should be interesting.
He slides it under the bottom rope and follows himself, the ref stands in his way shaking his head, arms outstretched but Drakz grabs him by the neck and throws him over the top and down onto the concrete outside the square circle.
Matthew Werner: What's the meaning of this!? There's no reason for this, Drakz!
Matt Steel: Maybe he's sending a message, I don't know.
He then opens the chair up and sets it down before picking Luke McCarthy back up and flipping him up onto his shoulders in the same fashion as before. Drakz backs up to the corner and carefully climbs up to the 2nd rope, he smiles at the crowd one last time before jumping toward the foreign object landing the sit down piledriver part of the "Needle Damage" onto the chairs seat, flattening it and leaving McCarthy a broken heap in the center of the ring!
Matthew Werner: Oh my god! We need medical assistance at ringside right now!
Matt Steel: Come to think of it, don't we have, you know, security for these sorts of situations?
Drakz doesn’t waste anymore of his time and he goes to leave, perfectly timed it seems as none other than Wayne McGurk races into the ring to try and stop the brutality.
Matthew Werner: It's Wayne McGurk! Thank god somebody has come to stop this!
Matt Steel: What a buzz-kill.
Drakz however is already out of the ring and now walking backward up the ramp, looking at McGurk a little confused but laughing none the less. He jokingly taps his wrist with his index finger before shaking it as though to tease at McGurk being a little too late with his attempted save.
Matt Steel: I guess you have to admire his courage but Wayne McGurk might be walking in to a battle against a man you don't want to mess with.
Matthew Werner: Clearly, things are starting to heat up here in the WFWF on the road to SuperBrawl but coming up next The High Horror faces off with Jon O'Deeves for the WFWF National Championship live on WFWF Loaded!
McGurk stands in the ring, stern faced and staring out Drakz before shooing him off with both hands. Drakz continues to chuckle to himself and turns to walk through the curtain as we fade to commercial.
