I know for a fact that the reason he stopped trying is because Dana White would not let him box Roy Jones Jr.
Anderson was offered 2 million plus a percent of PPV revenew. But Dana said no. So Anderson said he would cost Dana money since he cost him money.
Just thought I would let you guys know.

It must be because Roy Jones has nothing else going on. He didn't just recently fight Danny Greene. He didn't fight Bernard Hopkins after that. Nope. The guy is all about Spider. I don't believe you. Sorry.

He stopped trying because no one is willing to go toe to toe with him. Remember the Forrest fight when Silva manhandled him? Yeah that's why Forrest kept going after him and silva showed how good he really is.

Sorry. Actually you are wrong brother. www.mmamania.com/2009/03/25/anderson-silva-roy-jones-jr-boxing-match-practically-a-done-deal/fiveouncesofpain.com/2009/07/29/anderson-silva-has-signed-to-box-roy-jones-jr/Anderson was told right before his fight with Thales that Dana would not let him fight Jones www.cbssports.com/mma/story/11712445Which cost Anderson Silva (not Jones he get's paid millions and percent of PPV for fighting anyway) 2 million dollars and a PPV percentage. You can look up more stuff if you want. You are right he laid out Forrest but that was because Forrest was pushing the tempo. So Anderson (after ing around for awhile) just laid him out. Look at all his fights leading up to the Thales fight. He was ripping people apart got bored of MMA. Asked Dana to let him fight Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match. Dana said no it pissed Anderson off so much he basically shut it down then. And is just coasting through his UFC contract so he can fight Jones.

This has been my thoughts for a while. I remember something about Silva stating as soon as his contract was up with UFC he was retiring from MMA and wanted to fight Roy Jones, whether it was MMA or Boxing was still up in the air. But I figured if it went MMA, mutually they'd keep it to stand up only.
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Silva vs Rua, or even Hendo or Vitor against Silva. I'm thinking Rua might happen, but we'll see.

I believe it.
but regardless if Anderson is bored or not I still think we will see exciting matches from him. He isn't going to want to tarnish his legacy by getting lazy and possibly getting caught during a fight.
I figured it was either him being pissed that Dana wouldn't allow him to fight Roy Jones Jr. or that Anderson just doesn't like fighting Brazilians (considering the only fights in his UFC career that went the distance were against Brazilians)

I believe it too, and it is disappointing.
Here's hoping a fight between him and Belfort eventually happens...

If that's true, he needs to stop being a baby about it and finish out his contract fighting like we all know he can then he can go do whatever he wants.
