Man, EA certainly loves their money. I kinda can't wait to see how this turns out though.

Man, EA certainly loves their money. I kinda can't wait to see how this turns out though. Well, it worked to get me to turn my Battlefield Bad Company 2 rental into a purchase. Honestly, it's pretty shocking that they're being so aggressive on this plan but it's still less consumer-hostile than the original threat from Mark Rein.

That's fine with me. I barely play anything online as it is, let alone anything EA outside of Madden Arcade.

For some reason, I kind of like that EA is just being so brazen about the entire thing. It's just full one "Suck On This" mode. Project 10 Dollar is something they are taking VERY seriously.

EA makes the top sports games of today, they want money, and it sucks, but im a big enough fan of the games that i dont care, as im buying Madden 11 anyway. My feeling is that EA sucks and that they shouldnt do this, but at least their crappy and making good games instead of crappy and making bad games if you know wat i mean. I mean it would really suck if i shelled out cash for Madden and got cheapness and crap, but i enjoy their games so it doesnt really bother me as id buy it anyway.

They did it with UFC 2010. To play online, you need the code from the box, which I have to assume is a one time use code..

It says under the code that it's a one time use code.

As much as I hate all the microtransactions EA has been pushing in their games as of late, this idea I can understand. It's not about squeezing every last dime out of the consumer, it's about actually getting paid for the work they do. Is it really that big of a deal to save five bucks buying a game used at GameStop?

I don't buy pre-owned games, let alone any games by EA, so this shouldn't affect me.

I agree with what they are doing 100%. Making games is expensive, and if you buy used, which saves you at most ten bucks generally, the publisher makes zero money off of it, Gamestop or whoever you buy it from gets it all. How can you expect developers to continue making games if their efforts aren't paid for? Just like pirated movies and music. I buy all of my stuff, the only time I've ever pirated an album is to test it out, and then, I either buy it if I enjoyed it, or delete it if I don't.

Agreed. I dont like buying pre-owned, the only thing that kind of sucks is people who use gamefly who wont be able to play their rentals online.
