At the recent Fan Expo, Silva was told that due to the length of his line, fans would only be able to take pictures of him from the line, and would not be able to actually take pictures with him. Silva promptly shot that idea down and basically demanded that his fans be allowed to take pictures with him.
It's moments like these that really lets you know where Wanderlei's heart is at. It's no wonder why he has such a vast legion of fans.
Much <3 for Wandy, win or lose no one can deny that he's got the heart of a champion.

I agree. He seems to have a genuine heart of gold.
I'd be so fvcking scared of that guy if I met him. His physical appearance does not jive with his personality at all. . . . . I guess that's where the phrase don't judge a book by its cover comes from.

When I met him earlier this year for a signing, he actually let us take pictures with him, he also asked what are name was so he could personalize it. No doubt he was one of the nicest guys ever!

whoever that woman was seemed like a total ****. First she tries to talk down to Wanderlei, then when he tries to reason with her and say it won't take long, she argues to just let them be the bad guys.. Then as icing on the cake, when she realizes Wandy is still going to take pictures as he pleases, she says "okay fine, you do whatever you want then".  that ****. |

I just love the fact that almost immediately after she says "you do whatever you want" he poses with a fan for a picture.

Proof positive of why he almost immediately came across to my brother and I as a tremendously respectable man and fighter, he got the biggest ovation at the UFC110 weigh-in here in Sydney.
Have tons of respect for the guy, such a great thing for him to do.

I don't care if Wandy nevers wins another fight (ok, maybe I'll cry if he doesn't, but I'll survive...maybe), he'll always be my favorite fighter. Very nice of him to insist every fan get a fair chance at going home happy.
