I actually like the World Cup alright, but every time I watch soccer I can't help but think of this... That was great, I'd forgotten about that episode.. ;D Also Mexico got robbed by the line judge on their goal in the first half. The first game was pretty entertaining..

I´m upset with my national team . , I was hoping a victory over S.A. , that game showed me that México fails when we play against lower rank teams, and vs good teams, we play better. Announcers said that it was offside. :/ . France vs Uruguay was entertaining in the first half, the second one was bored, last few min saved the game, France had the chance to win, but the tie was fair.

Linesman got it spot on, replays show he was offside.

What about the man in the post? He doesn´t count or what? I dont get it . :/ The offside rule states that when the ball is played the player who gets the ball has to have 2 opposition players in front of him. The player on the post was the only player in front of him as the goalie had come off his line in an attempt to punch the ball away. Therefore the Mexican player was offside.

That is wrong, off-side is when the ball is played and the player receiving the ball is standing past the last opposition player.

No, its the last 2 players. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offside_rule_(football)

Regardless of how we think our teams are going to do, can the Brits and the Yanks at least agree that vuvuzelas are infuriating? At this point I'd love to take one of those horns and beat somebody to death with it.

I don't know if he announced it already, but I know the deadline is an hour before the game. So one way or another we'll know then.

not trying to cause an argument here, but does anyone actually expect the usa team to get a win today? personally, i feel england will pick up the victory, and not just because im english, but i do think we have a superior team. that being said, i think the usa have one of the better teams theyve had in a while, so im going for a 1-0 victory to england.

Looking forward to the match tonight, on paper England shouldnt have that much of a problem in this match (Not attempting an arguement), idealy it would be nice to make a statement and bag as many goals as possible, but i think the team has been very much over hyped in the british media, we only won our last match because of two own goals, so a draw or very narrow win wouldnt supprise me, that being said, bigger upsets have happened...

Being from Northern Ireland and liking both England and USA, I dont know who to support tonight, but i've lost faith in England now that Gerrard is the captain.

I'm predicting 2-1 or 3-1 to England, but the Yanks will score first, and crap us up a bit. USA will be the other team from our group to qualify though.
Watching South Korea/Greece at the moment, hard to believe Greece won the Euros in 2004 with the way they're playing at the moment, Korea deserve to be winning. And yes, the vuvuzelas are horrible.

Vuzvellas annoyed me at first but I'm used to them now.
Getting less and less confident by the minute, still think we'll win though.

I've gotten used to the Vuzvellas as well but it just kills the atmosphere of the game. I want to hear the crowd chanting and cheering not a swarm of flies.
