For nearly four years, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has ruled the 185-pound weight class with an iron fist. On August 7th, at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, he will look to add to his record six title defenses when he takes on the one man brash enough to call him out, number one contender Chael Sonnen. This championship bout, which is the main event of UFC 117: SILVA vs. SONNEN presented by Tequila Cazadores, headlines the first UFC® event in Oakland.

If this ends up being the whole card, i'll be happy, although I'd like to see Thiago on the main card, and I'd like to see Chael get beat, I don't like his cocky attitude, he isn't that good.

He runs his political mouth all the time, bashing silva, machida, rampage, and many more, but yet he's been beaten by guys like Terry Martin?

I think if a dedicated Silva comes into this fight, Sonnen will go down hard.

I'm sure Silva vs. Boetsch and Hazelett vs. Story will be on a Spike TV Prelim special, which would be cool.

I'm pretty excited for this card, to be honest. People can say what they want about Chael, but I think he obviously does posses skills and does deserve this title shot against Silva. Seeing that war he went through with Marquardt pretty much sold me.

After the Meia fight, if ANY Silva shows up, he's going down hard
