I hate to say this considering how many Shogun fans are here, but I think the same Shogun that looked completely lost against Forrest Griffin is still inside the current Light Heavyweight Champion. I just honestly haven't bought into the "Shogun's back" hype at all.
I think now more than ever Rashad will win the belt back. Even if he doesn't, I don't see Shogun breaking the mold and actually having a LHW reign that lasts more than a handful of fights. To be perfectly honest, I don't see anyone breaking that mold for quite some time, and that includes the fighters at LHW that I consider my favorites.

I'll be pulling for Shogun, but man did Rashad look scary fast.

ing hell. The human body can only be "repaired" so many times. You can only chip away so much before it starts to lose it's structural support. I sincerely hope he bounces back just fine from this, it's just a damn shame to see.

I was hoping (small chance) it would get put in the Indy card, but that sounds like its officially squashed.

It's not on hold for long. It wasn't a serious injury and the surgery was relatively easy. He'll only be in rehab for a short time, then he'll be back. I think he knows better now to keep his training hard, even after injury. I expect the fight to happen sometime this year though.
