If they needed a face to win the world title, why couldn't they give it to Christian..he's pretty over himself.

Oh shut up already, it takes two people to properly pull off a move. To deliver a senton (what injured Taker), Rey is supposed to be caught, right? Exactly what is Rey's job? To springboard from the top rope, go through the air, and be caught. If someone  ed up, it's more likely it was Taker. Think for a minute. |

"Rey Undertaker Senton Injury" - Tons, and tons of sites say it was the senton. Even it was the 619, Taker should have got his hands up... everyone else does. |

Wah wah boo hoo. He's arguably one of the hardest working men to ever step into a ring, and has been over-as- since he first came into WCW. He deserves it. If you dislike it THAT much, well then, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe go watch the news or something? You seem to really be into that. He needs to take some time off, maybe he can refresh himself and get back to being the 'old' Mysterio. William Regal deserves it. Finlay deserves it. Doesn't mean they are going to get it. This is when the argument got flat-out intellectually- disabled. I'll take Rey doesn't entertain every person on Earth, but god-damnit. I could beat you over the head with a stick, and you wouldn't get any dumber. |

What's everyones problem with Christian? This dude has no problem putting people over, and he has alot of heart for this business. He's great in the ring, and he's over enough to be the main face on Smackdown if Rey were to take a break or get injured again. |

^ I like Christian a lot and was hoping Swagger would retain and drop to him around SummerSlam but I guess not.
Christian could have won the SD MITB and then did an RVD and announced that he was cashing it in and win the WHT the honest way giving him a ton of credibility.
But no Rey won..
I am not a hater of Rey but I just wish someone else won.
I just hope this run is a LOT better than the first one!

It was more likely 'Taker's fault, because he didn't catch Rey properly, on the Senton. I also believe that Punk was cut open by the seam on the barrier, because unless Rey was wearing a knee-brace that went down to his ankle, there's no way he could've cut Punk's head. I have no problem, with Rey winning the match - I just thought that Punk would take it, (and seeing as reports say that 'Taker will focus on the WHC after SS) and then would re-kindle his feud with 'Taker, after Taker gets done with Kane or whoever took him out - especially after Punk's promo mocking him last last week.

It really doesn't matter who's fault it is. It's a mistake, an accident, it happens. Rey's contributions for the company should not be ignored because an accident happened. He earned the World Heavyweight Championship by rejuvenating his in-ring career in the past couple of years, and has busted his ass. He even set aside his personal time off he was about to take because 'Taker became injured.

I'm very pleased that Rey picked up the win. Jack Swagger wasn't working for me as a champion, not yet anyway. Mysterio has been a part of one of the greatest feuds in recent WWE memory and to this day puts on some of the greatest matches (vs. Punk, Jericho, Morrison). Heck he can even make a guy like Batista slightly interesting. Reports have also had him down as somewhat close to retirement. Whether or not that's true remains to be seen, but he certainly deserves to be rewarded for one of the best runs in his career and what better way than winning the WHC?
