WWE issued a press release today noting that it will be running an event for the very first time in China on August 22nd, 2010. The event will be held in The Expo Cultural Center in Shanghai, which seats 8,000. Vince McMahon had the following to say concerning the big announcement: "WWE is honored that the Chinese government and Expo 2010 Shanghai have offered us this rare, historic opportunity to perform at the successful Shanghai World Expo. We are thankful to be allowed to entertain the attendees and our fans in the region at Expo 2010 Shanghai."

If it's in China, I would imagine it'll be all of Raw and Smackdown.

The China show was supposed to take place last yr in July but was cancelled cos the China govt was very strict on pornography and violence and WWE couldn't get a license in time.
I have a friend who worked in the marketing company who was supposed to bring them to China. Sadly he has left the company.
It's just after Summerslam.

It will probably be both shows cos China is a huge lucrative market that WWE has been eyeing for some time. The Chinese in the cities are affluent and rich. No doubt, it will sell out.

Just heard it's a Raw show and it's only 90 minutes long.
Free for visitors who visit the World Expo that day.

So many sports leagues want to get into China like NFL, WWE, UFC and MLB, but I dont see any one of them catching on like the NBA over there.
