It is a great year to live in California if you’re a Fan of MMA. After a long stint of no activity the UFC brought Machida vs. Shogun I to Los Angeles last year in 2009. Now it appears as if they have just kept the ball rolling with 3 great cards this year taking place in a California zip code. To kick off the heat, they are bringing the” Cali” Market The UFC on Versus Card on August 1. Just 6 days later we have the much anticipated return of Anderson Silva at UFC 117 in Oakland. And now they are stacking the recently announced UFC 121 set for Anaheim in October. With a headlining bout between PPV Kingpin Brock Lesnar vs. number one contender and California trained Cain Velasquez, the UFC debut of Jake Shields and the possible return of Tito Ortiz the card will already be a guaranteed sell out. But the UFC just keeps stacking the event with stellar match-ups for the California fans. In addition to the above mentioned bouts, news has come way of PennJoMMA that Diego Sanchez has agreed to come in and face top talent, Paulo Thiago. Looking to get back into the swing of things Diego has reportedly made his third transition to a new training camp since coming on board the UFC banner. He is now back to his roots in New Mexico training at Albuquerque Kickboxing (not affiliated with Greg Jackson). The rumored/proposed card so far looks something like this. Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez Jake Shields vs. Martin Kampmann Tito Ortiz vs. TBA Patrick Cote vs. TBA Diego Sanchez vs. Paulo Thiago Court McGee vs. Ryan Jensen Sam Stout vs. Paul Taylor Dongi Yang vs. Chris Camozzi www.bjpenn.com/profiles/blogs/ufc-121-getting-deep-with-the

If Tito Ortiz is on the card, I'll be buying. Good to hear about Diego. He always puts on exciting fights.
