Just wondered what collectors of Mattel are doing with the their old collections?
I don't collect Mattel's but wondered if people who have started to get the new figures have sold or are planning on selling their Jakks figures to make room for the new arrivals.
Do you prefer to collect a certain selection of figures or will you collect as much as you can get?

I'm selling my old Jakks collection mostly for the money to fund my new Mattel collection. I'm mostly going to pick up Elites and legends, but I do like to get basics that really stand out or have attires that probably won't be made again.

I'd never sell my Jakks stuff and it's not like you can get much for it. I still have them on display but my main focus and setup is with Mattel figures.

I'm gonna sell the Jakks figures that I have already have Mattel's of. My biggest money grubbers will be my Classics figures, due to the face that I've got some rare ones in there.

I may sell them in the future if money is tight but at the moment I still like to have a ppv event and i can use Jakks figures to fill the crowd.

I collect Action figures/toys. I don't care what company is making them. If I like them I'll buy them. even though Mattel Makes Batman/DC now I still have every Batman Hasbro made as well as all my DCD figures. I do the same with wrestling figures. I still have all my Jakks I displayed out and have another shelf for my Mattels. why would I get rid of them? Just because I like Mattel's more doesn't me I no longer like the Jakks figures I bought.

I actually stopped collecting years ago when half my collection was stolen, so it's not a huger problem for me.
I'll keep the CS figures I still have, but I doubt I'll pick up ones I had been planning to get second hand to complete things, as mattel might do then and that would be better.

My JAKKS and Mattel mix fine with me. There is no way Mattel will make all the people JAKKS did. I replace my JAKKS version if Mattel makes a better one, but Mattel is mostly for current WWE people for me.

I've kept the handful of Jakks figures that I feel are fit to stand alongside the Mattel figures, and the ones that Mattel is not likely to ever make (TNA guys, etc.). I've sold the rest of that crap.

On display on the shelf below my Mattel shelf. How could I get rid of my Jakks figs? I collected them for over ten years. It'd be a waste!

I collect want I like and I still enjoy my Jakks figs. I'm not going to spend a lot of money on buying replacements made by Mattel no matter how good they look. I'm mostly collecting divas and classic figs that haven't been made before like Von Erichs, Macho Man etc from Mattel now..

Jakks is dead to me in every way possible other than their UFC line. And even that might off soon, I might switch over the Round 5 permanently.

I might start by selling my exclusive Dusty Rhodes polka dotted figure because it look like a hunk of poo compared to Mattel's, but really, I plan on keeping most of my collection. I still love a lot of my Jakks figs because Jakks provided the legends idea and made some golden figures before the line ultimately went to crap, but they're still great figures. Mattel is just taking that idea and perfecting it.

I'm pretty sure my Jakks and Mattel figures can co-exist in my collection. Will just need to create additional space for them all.

I have slowly begun selling my non-CS Jakks figures. I would sell my CS figures but there isn't much of a market for them so I'm not sure it would be worth getting rid of them.
